We visited the Level Bar on several occasions, Tracey soon learnt that I couldn't bring myself to name the cocktail that I loved the most..! Very relaxing, great service, great staff and wonderful cocktails! Dimitris, please smile!
We put this in our top two. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service...Andreas, we are still playing the CD that you so kindly gave to us! The cocktails were prepared with great care, even colour co-ordinating our three!! You are all stars!
We thought this trip was great! Spiros is a great captain and is very passionate about what he does. His speedboat seats around twenty-four people and he lets the children take turns at steering and tells them all about the area. The trip gets you closer to places than the larger boats, and with Spiros' precise steering it's very informative. Pleasant lunch stop also, so take some money with you. Well worth the money!
We enjoyed two weeks at the Planos Bay (previously Planos Park) Appartments, situated at Planos, about a quarter of an hours walk from main Tsilivi, all flat walking throughout. The whole complex is kept spotless; watching the cleaners at the poolside was quite something, even Nikos!!Keep your t-shirt on Nik, it's early! Watch out for the baths, they have a basin-type area in so mind where you put your feet when you shower, or you will slip. A seperate shutter which lets the air in but not the bugs was great at night,(although we experienced no bugs)and a double-glazed door also to cut out any noise. We had a problem with one of the beds, which the maintenance staff solved without any problem. We were above the entertainments lounge and had no trouble with noise at all.Everything that the brochure said would be supplied in the appartment, was. There is an on-site shop and limited washing facilities, and in the evening the entertainment is quite good, but as Planos Bay is part of three sister-hotels you soon learn where the better of the entertainments are on each night....some draw larger crowds than others, but there is ALWAYS something to suit everyone; audience participation is a must! All our best wishes go out to the staff, especially Claire, the Wavelength Rep (that's from Steph!)and Dean(YOU ARE WITHOUT DOUBT A STAR!, and your costume for 'The Full Monty' fitted to..er..a..T!)Overall a great place to base your holiday. WELL DONE FOR MAKING OURS AN UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY!
We visited in the third week in August, and had an almighty thunderstorm when we landed!, but within a couple of hours we were melting at the hotel poolside. THIS WAS WELL HOT! We also had a couple of unseasonal downpours towards the end of the second of our weeks, but this did not dampen our spirits, as you knew that within a couple of hours normal service would be resumed! LOVED EVERY MINUTE..would go back without hesitation.
We booked this trip through Tsilivi travel and found it was well worth every penny (Euro) spent. Be prepared for sitting on a bus for a long period of time, as the trip is a fair old jaunt. However there were two stops on route, one for a coffee stop, and one for a meal. You arrive late in the afternoon and have enough time for a shower and a short rest (in the overnight hotel) Then off to a restaurant for and evening meal. As there is no light show this year, we were treated to a "Greek night". I found this a slight drag as we were there for a few hours and I found it difficult getting enthusiastic about people singing in a foreign lingo. The following day takes on the trip to the Acropolis (small additional charge, but well worth it) I can only say OUT OF THIS WORLD....... even my kids loved it, and I thought they would consider it a pile of old rocks. Our on site guide was absolutely fantastic with bags full of info. Our Guide on the bus was ok, but I have had better........ All in all, this is A MUST DO TRIP, and will remember this for the rest of my life..... EXCELLENT
Again, we booked this trip through Tsilivi travel, and a marvelous time was had by all of my family. The travelling is an hour and 15 mins ferry crossing then a bus trip of about another hour to the Olympic site. Sadly we arrived in the pouring rain, but the "on site" guide delt with the weather conditions in a manner second to none. The day consisits of a museum trip and then a visit to the "Olympic site". Each has an small additional charge (kids under 18 go free) and if you pay for both the museum and the site at the same time you get a slight discount. After the museum finished, thankfully the rain stopped and we managed to do the outsite visit in the dry. The on site guide was fantastic, with loads and loads of info. All in all the trip was brilliant....... but please please, if the guide says NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY in the museum, please do as he asks, High intensity flash light will damage the statues in the long term, so respect what you are looking at. Just turn the flash off on your camera there is enough room lighting for the pictures to still come out clear enough.... if you want to see what I have taken with no flash, email me at Peter@the-glorious-game.fsnet.co.uk
Wow what fun this was....... Our driver saw no fear, so be prepared for a fast and bumpy run, and hold on tight :-) My kids loved it (aged 16 & 10) and all you could hear was them laughing as the jeep threw its passengers around. The trip was slight spoil by the weather, it came to rain in the afternoon, and boy did it rain. This meant the trip had to be finished a tad early as it became impossible to drive. However the organisers treated us all to a drink or two in a road side cafe whilst we waited for the rain to stop. Well worth doing this trip if you like a hair raising experience.
Very mixed fellings on this one........ This was our first major holiday abroad and on the whole the holiday was absolutely fantastic. The accommodation was as good as you could expect (Planos complex in Tsilivi) The maid service was spot on, boy do they know how to clean up, and probably for very poor wages. However the tour operators were poor. We hardly saw a rep in the 2 weeks we were there. The evening entertain was either full on, or nothing. We soon learnt that the complex we stayed at had two sister appartments, so you sometimes had to go across the road to have some fun. BUT MY BIGGEST GRIPE was when we had to go home. Zante Airport is something else. After you check in, you then have to go outside (yes you read right, OUTSIDE) and wait under a canopy, until you get called into the departure lounge) Now picture the scene, its pouring down with rain, there are a group of people from various flights standing outside in the rain, waiting to get on their plane, and all looking bewildered in the process. So what you need is infomation, and loads of it....... did we get any? NO, not a hoot !! We even had to rely on a rep from another tour operator to help us out (JMC and KOSMAR). I expect the reps were all nice and warm inside out of the rain, but their lack of info, meant we were all of a sudden rushed from the "canopy" area, straight through passport control, whisk through the departure lounge, and straight on a plane full of waiting passengers........ TUT TUT first choice !! ALL IN ALL....... loved ZANTE, but wont be using FIRST CHOICE AGAIN
