If there is one thing you have to do,its the Insight Jeep Safari. We were there in Aug 06. We laughed all day. Drivers were abs MAD. 3 Great guys. The offroad parts really had you hanging on edge of seats, our 2 Grankids,2 boys aged 15 and 8,were whooping. They esp loved the water fights. You have to do it. Thanks to Julian, our driver, for let STUMPY ride up front.
OH MY GOD!!! JULIAN IS MAD!! This is an absolute MUST!! Myself and hubby plus 3 kids aged 13, 8 and 5 loved it! Not only did we get a fab ride but we had water fights with other Jeeps and at the swimming stop we got the chance to go and see the Blue Caves for mega cheap!! We will defo be back!! HOPE U FOUND YOUR PHONE JULIAN! HAVE RATED EXCELLENT RIGHT THROUGH !!

see you all next yearHi Jason,
GAME BOY DAY
Well, it's taken me nearly a year to leave this feedback.......I went on the Zakfari in 2003 and it was fantastic. we are coming back this summer and are planning on this trip again really because my sister liz wants to see paul. i really hope he will be there this year.
Hi Siobhan,
There are a number of companies running tours on the island, but the best one is Zakfari. I can say that because I drive for Zakfari!
Im slightly confused - is there more than one jeep safari on Zante? Are the Jeep Safari and Zakfari two seperate things or the same? If seperate, which one would you recommend and why?
It was theres a bee in my cab day,we thoroughly enjoyed this fin and exciting 4x4 excursion made all the better by our aussie driver and very amusing and like minded jetski mad simon. All the sites we visited were interesting as was the journeys to them, thanks for a great day out.
Tony Tracey,Liam and Dean
WE WENT IN MAY THE WEATHER WAS GOOD, BUT YOU NEED TO TAKE BOTH WARM CLOTHES AS IT IS BREEZY IN THE BACK AND COOL CLOTHES FOR ALL THE STOPS YOU MAKE. I DID NOT LIKE THE FOOD, THERE WAS MINIMAL CHOICE AND I LEFT STILL HUNGRY! THE BOTH BIT BY FAR WAS THE SECLUDED COVE WE WENT TO FOR THE SWIM STOP, WE SNOKELLED AND GOT SOME SOME PICCYS OF THE FISH, ALTHOUGH THE SMELL OF THE SULPHUR WAS GROSS, AND IT TASTED EVEN WORSE! IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME THE NAME OF THE BEACH AND WHERE IT WAS I WOULD BE GREATFULL AS WE CAN FIND OUR OWN WAY THERE NEXT YEAR.
We went on the "last tour of the season" last Sunday - what a waste of
a not inconsiderable amount of money. There was a tangible
end-of-season complacency amongst the staff and very little effort was
made, except by Simon, otherwise it was all "going through the
motions". Our driver was clearly disenchanted with the whole
thing and even made some interestingly sarcastic comments about the
whole set-up. Most of the day was spent speeding from place to
place, unable to se much from the jeep, with no effort made to give any
eductaion or information about where we were/what we were doing/seeing,
except on the "official" stops.
It was something of an unpleasant surprise to discover that lunch was
at an "extra" cost - having done several days like this before in
various european locations they have always included lunch, but on this
occasion lunch added another £22 to the days cost which, at £160 was
alraedy a considerable investment.
No doubt Zakfari will survive and prosper, and the owners will become wealthy, and don't need any "suggestions, but here goes:
1) Give the driver a microphone, with a speaker in the back of the jeep
- at 50 mph and the wind whistling through the jeep most comments were
inaudible
2) Get some "interaction" going - sitting with a
load pf people you have nerver met, and can't chat to, due to the
noise, results in people just staring at each other.
3) At
"lunch" get the drivers to sit WITH the paying customers - they have
loads of local knowledge, let them be available to answer questions,
rather than sitting exclusively alone.
A great waste of a lot of money................and it could all be so much more fulfilling
The safari was the best. It was the only cold day of our week and
windy but Paul and Simon made it a day to remember. This was the
very last trip of the season and there was 4 jeeps out. Our
driver Peter was excellent company and knowledgeable. Highly
recommended. Lunch was lovely. I did see one horse and we
decided it was a donkey not an elephant!! Did have a tremor that
day we as we were in a churchyard but we never felt it.
Comfort was not a thing you should consider on this trip. Our
kids loved it (5 - 18yrs).
Thursday 20th October Polish Day Wow we had a fanatastic time the best day of our whole holiday and we would recommend it to all to give it a go.
Ooopps hit the wrong key before I had finished & thought I had lost the post anyhow will try again….
Wednesday 19th October 2005 'Musical Cat Day' (if I remember correctly! ) or 'The Day After The Earthquake' as I like to call it
Can highly recommend this trip, we had Paul as our driver and Simon (in pic) as our tour guide, even though it was late in the season & we didn't spot any turtles & the sea was too cold for a swim stop we still had a great time & saw some fantastic views, you get to see parts of the island the coach trips just can't take you.
I must admit I couldn't see any of the animals on the rocks up by the caves even after sniffing the 'special herbs' maybe if I had tried after all the free wine tasting I might have had more luck spotting them! We were lucky enough to visit smugglers cove by boat on a previous visit to the island, so it was good to see it from a different angle this time.
Ps. Still picking pips from my teeth after the wild strawberries nearly a week on.
Wednesday 19th October ' Musical Cat Day' (if I remember correctly!)
