BEST BAR IN THE WORLD. END OF!!!!!

Angels was ok but Down Under is far better u cannot even compare the 2. Barmen are fantastic drinks ARE good value for money and they play great music. Sorry Angels but u are gonna have to do alot better to compete with Down Under.

This is the best restaurant in zante, food is amazing service excellent and u couldn't ask for better staff esp Albert he is an absolute star.

jon collard, what the hell are u on? This bar was fantastic we spent virtually every night here. The cocktails are fantastic as is the atmosphere and u couldn't get better barmen if u tried.

p.s does anyone know when Down Under closes for the season is it the end of oct?

I'm 25 actually. Also whilst I was there I did not see many people under 18 most were my age, me and my friends all thought it was great and had a fantastic time there, still each to their own I suppose life would be a bit crap if we were all the same eh.

This bar is great. Went in high season and have to say that i didn't notice any kids sprawling everywhere and i was here virtually every night for two weeks. The bacardi tasted fine to me and I do drink it normally, the cocktails are lovely esp the dingo blue and georges barmans choice. It may be a little more expensive than some other bars but to me price of drinks is not as important as the atmosphere of a bar if paying a bit more means i'm guarenteed 2 have a fantastic night then i'm not 2 bothered.

2 chris have u got shares in angels and mermaids or summat :-) its just that u seem 2 be on this site about 3 squillion times raving about the places yes i agree they are both great places but seriously!

One word sums up this place CRAP!!!! And no I dont work for another bar nor do any friends or family I just have good taste and common sense.

Good food, good service and very reasonably priced, would definately come back here although more of a place to go for lunch rather than an evening meal.

dont think me you was tryin to say george was hers more that he seems to be everyones judging by sum of the comments on this page. cant wait to get to zeros and see this george see what all the fuss is about he's becomming a bit famous on this site.

We ate here a couple of times found the food to be good great during the day if you just wanna snack or if you get the late night munchies whilst in Down Under.

I stayed here last year with my family. We all really liked it the studios were spotless from the moment we entered to the moment we left as they were cleaned every single day. All staff and owners were great nothing was too much trouble for them they really made an effort to make you feel welcome. The BBQ they hold on a friday night is very good too!!

I would definately come back here and would recommend the garden village to anyone.

to isa. only pubs shut at 11 in england clubs an bars can shut any time between 2.00am and 6.00am you can drink from 18 onwards although most have have their 1st drink well before this, we are not all s**ts ok i agree sum can be but isn't that the same in any country?

and yes we do know how to party in our own country (and believe me we do) we just party even harder when we are on holiday!!

To Matt I don't know how far your apartments are but even if they are on the other side of the island you have to go to this bar its fantastic :-)

Kalamaki is not too big tho so it shouldn't be 2 far to travel and the taxis are really cheap so you shouldn't have any trouble.

to isa, some english lads r like that i agree and they do go slightly worse on holiday probably due to too much sun and alcohol but there are alot of decent english lads too and i should know being from england myself. also to rima u say u know what the bartenders say behind the english girls backs did u ever stop to think that they might be saying similar things about u to other girls? because i hate to break it to u but they probably are they are out there to have fun and good on them why shouldn't they so long as nobody gets hurt they can do what they like. maybe them telling u english girls are slags and that they have more respect for u is another way of trying to get into your pants through flattery, think about it they have more than one trick up their sleeves.

have to say chris i agree with u if they hate the english so much then why do they go to laganas? the mind boggles.

any way i personally go on holiday to have fun i dont sleep around but that is my choice if people choose to sleep with 20 different people in two weeks it is up to them so long as they enjoy themselves and dont hurt people in the process.

i'll shut up now anyway ive had my rant!

people may think the english are s**ts but we know the vast majority are not, i can honestly say that out of all of the people i know all have self respect and none are s**ts, i did not sleep with anyone whilst on holiday even though i had many offers but it is just not what i want but at the same time i dont judge people who want to sleep with people on holiday and i dont judge people just because they come from a certain country as not everyone fits into a stereotype. im not having a go at you here but i think you are being very narrowminded with your views i know some english people can be a bit much when they are on holidays but we are not all like this there are actually some very nice english people out there who do have self respect like you do. im sure you are a nice person really but please do not band us all together just because we were born in the same country we are all individuals after all.

also you say we are all ugly? kate moss, naomi campbell, liz hurley, kate winslett, halle berry (her mum is from liverpool in england and she to was born in liverpool and i think lived there for a few years) as for the men robbie williams, orlando bloom, jude law the list goes on i wouldn't say any of these people were ugly now would you? and before you start i am not saying people from your country are ugly and i am not saying any other countries are either just that not all english people are ugly.

and i am not saying you should not go to laganas just that there are so many english people there (more than greek even probably) have you ever been to england? if not you should maybe then you would change your opinion about it, it is a really nice place and the people are some of the nicest you could hope to meet especially in the north west in and around liverpool.

i think we should call a truce now i mean there are good and bad people inevery country of the world its a fact of life.

now now children it's only a bar calm down! ;-) can't u all just agree 2 disagree? some of ya like it some of ya don't, i didn't go in their myself coz everytime i walked past it looked dead (i could be wrong here) and i found downunder which was absolutly fantastic. i ate at mermaids a couple of times thought it was very good not as good as mikealos tho.

hey everyone, just to say we had a fantastic time when we were in kalamaki and this bar was definately one of the highlights thought u were all great and the cocktails were to die for cant really say the same about ur flaring skills tho. lol. think u should spend the winter practicing 4 next year. ;-) anyways hope u all have a great xmas and hopefully i will be back to visit u all soon.
