This is by far the most authentic taverna in Alykanas so much so that one half of the restaurant on our last night was full of locals eating there.
Complementary Ouzo helps and is backed up by an excellent menu with good local wines ( Callinico Verdea pretty good ).
Spicy Pork Yiros and Moussaka superb and the Royla Special desert worth a go.
Owner and staff really friendly, this is a must go to place in the resort.

Just returned from a quick weeks break in Alykanas and have to say we went to the Mantelena every night!.
Without a doubt it's the best Taverna in the village and significantly there were locals eating there on every ocacsion too.
This was our sixth time in Alykanas,we have tried all the Tavernas but none offer the authenticity that Mantalena does. If you haven't been there before give it a go.

10/10Just returned from another week in Alykanas and have to say the Mantalena is still serving up fantastically authentic food at very reasonable rates.
Tassos and Maria are excellent hosts and the waiting staff are friendly and very attentive.
The Stifado, Soutsoukakia, Psari Plaki and Sea Bream are excellent and unless requested, not a chip in sight!!
And a big plus, no "touts" outside the restaurant trying to convince you that they have the best establishment in the village,
If you haven't tried it before, give it a go.

10/10Just returned from another week here and I have to say the new management were pretty good. There are a couple of changes though. We had kettles and a toaster in our room, so I am supposing they are supplied FOC as standard. (no more waiting 15 minutes for a cup of tea!)
There is a new seating area (to the right of the bar as you look at it from the beach) with sofas and arm chairs and an extended grassed area over that side as well with tables, chairs and umbrellas.
Hire of sunbeds on the beach is now €5 per day rather than €7 as in previous years.
Weather needless to say was great.

Sorry, I can't be of much help, as we've only stayed in studios ourselves. I've spoken with people in the past who have and they have been pretty impressed, but that's the extent of my knowledge I'm afraid.

We didn't need it this year (mid June), but if memory serves me right, it was €7 per night the previous year when it was definitely a must (mid July). You don't have to commit to having it for the full week, so can pick and choose your days if you wish.
