very pretty gardens and accomodation was very good, though cooking facilities very basic. Quite a walk from the town and the beach. Pool & rooms cleaned every day. Agree that the pool is deep at the shallow end but there is a small kiddies pool. staff very helpful and snacks available at the bar.

best beach on the island, lots of sunbeds and umbrellas. Not only can you spot the turtles in the sea we also swam with them, out quite deep though, flippers, snorkels etc a must. Turtle spotters on the beach as area is a nesting ground & conservation area.

no jeeps were available when we first went to merlis so they split our hire 2 days with a "postman pat"lookalike car, then 4 days with a brilliant 4x4 kia jeep, cost all together was approx £160 inc vat & insurance. they also deliver & pickup cars at your accomodation. Very helpful staff - Julie - even gave us a list of best beaches/places to visit.

excellent food and service is tops. brilliant grilled chicken meal for the less adventurous. and the best beef stroganoff i've ever tasted - "Mamas special recipe"
