The Apollo is really nice and very friendly with a lovely restaurant next door. You can't see the sea but it is only a couple of minutes walk away if you can tear youself away from Dimitri. As I haven't stayed there I am afraid I can't comment on the courtesy room.
Enjoy.
Just to add on a bit - make sure you see the Blue Caves and Shipwreck with the Golden Dolphin - brilliant. Also visit all the lovely shops and go to Alykanas where there are even more shops. Visit the Virago Bar opposite the Apollo and the Paradise which is just down the road from the Apollo on the left right by the sea (turn right by the tennis courts). A great taverna if you walk along the beach to the left for about 15 - 20 minutes. Close your eyes halfway because of the nudist beach!! In the town they advertise a railway excursion into the real Greece in the mountains and you will visit a church and a taverna with free wine - about 7 p.m. I loved it.
Hi Wendy
Just dug out the leaflet and the train goes from the central office on the left hand side halfway into the town opposite Supermarket Montes. Ask anyone. Departs at 11.30 and returns at 14.00. Also at 18.45 return 21.15. Mind you there was a late one and you could have a meal at the taverna and there was a band but that one was after us. Well worth it if you want to see typical Greece. Adults 10 euros, kids 5.
It worked. Must have been doing something wrong. They don't call me dizzy for nothing. This is Gill James from Wales who you made the most gorgeous 50th birthday cake for and who was too ill to make it. I tried e mailing you when we got home but it kept coming back. Didn't think about writing on here and this is my favourite site. I hope you remember me as you must have loads of holidaymakers to remember. I can't believe I was ill on my last day. I had so many peopole to meet and say goodbye to and I was so looking forward to the evening. The funny thing was that Josie drove me back after being at that lovely restauarant that you introduced us to when we first met, after about 5 minutes of feeling bad, I told her to lock the door and take the key back to Mike. I started to feel better but couldn't get out and the terrace was too high to jump over and remember what happened to me on my first night!!! There was noone around to get the owner and I didn't want to start shouting and screaming. So I went back to bed. Sent Josie and Ken an e mail message to give to you. I asked them to remind you of the angel site - Angel Aura where I got my necklace. Hope to be there next September for a wedding. See you then and thanks again. Gill and Mike
