We went on "excessive wine flatliners" day which referred to the two unfortunate punctures in two jeeps and the excessive wine tasting by one very hungry and thirsty lad! What a brilliant day and lovely views. Our driver was Lee who knows "everything about Zante", and what he doesn't know he makes it up! Good tales Lee - but we never did see the cave horse - even with the herbs!!
We saw the "Krankies" later on, and they confirmed it was their fav day!
We found this little restaurant on our third day, and had the first hot meal since we arrived. Yianni's service and cheerfulness made sure we returned every day afterwards. My husband had full english every morning, whilst I enjoyed the lemon and sugar pancakes, delicious. For evening meals, we had the beef, veg, and mash and filled potato skins with bacon and cheese. Highly recommended.
A nice beach with gentle sloping shores. We were at the turtle end and were surprised the turtles nests were not protected, although environmental volunteers did ask people to sunbathe away from the nests. We were lucky enough to see a baby turtle swimming into the sea on morning, but can't help feeling this beach should be protected from tourists as the Caretta Caretta (loggerhead turtles) are endangered species. They shouldnt have to contend with sunbeds, and litter.
