great place even if you're on your own.  Sakis, Lisa, Dianne & Spikey make you feel very welcome.  Spent every night there over the fortnight and enjoyed every one!  Anyone visiting Alykes should pay it a visit - you'll have a laugh a minute.  I'll be going back!! 

  Top Bar - didnt spend as much time here as i should have but what a great place.  Great cocktails from Chris (makes a very powerful Long Island Tea)  Fantastic place for all ages to visit.  Would recommend to anyone visiting Alykes.  A must.  And will spend more time there next time.

I didnt think they could improve this bar until they stuck a mini golf course out the back - the best ive ever played on.  Tina, Nikos, Chris and Akis all deserve a huge pat on the back for what they've achieved over the Winter - its amazing - WELL DONE.

No matter what you want the Iris Bar has it,  Tina and Nikos are great hosts whilst Chris and Akis shake cocktails all night and dish out the shots.  If its not ice juggling, beer mat fights or dancing - theyre serenading you by candle light on those dark nights!!  There's sports showing on the screens throughtout so sports fans will be kept happy.

WELL DONE guys for the new look Palm Tree - still cant believe how you did it but its looking good.

I travelled on my own to Alykes as an independent traveller and was looked after very well at the Clio.  I was collected from the airport and taken back without any problems.  The rooms are spotless and very cosey.

The best restaurant in Alykes.  Guarenteed a great meal here everytime you visit.  The fish is a must - always fresh and cooked to perfection.  The greek plate for 1 is also highly recommended 3 portions of different dishes to try a bit of everything.  The Saganaki was the best ive ever had and the Village Sausage Ponderosa was to die for!!  The local wine is also very good and must be tried.

Was disappointed that theyve cut the menu this year but food is still as tasty as always and good value.  If you visit Paporo during the day make sure you try the Gyros Pitta a bargain at 2 euros, theyre the best!!!

If you're wanting traditional service and food then this is the place to go.  Great location by the sea.  Well done to Demitris - he serviced the tables alone yet still made sure everyone was looked after well.

Just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Akis and it was great.  If you're wanting 5* then go book somewhere that offers it but for what you pay you get clean towels and a clean room.  The pool bar offers great food and drinks at a good price.  A family run business who work very hard all day to make sure you are looked after well.  I recommend you buy the 6 bottles of water for 2 euros from the pool bar as it helps not having to carry them from the local supermarkets.  Never had any problems with anything and didnt hear of anyone else staying there having anything negative to say either.

If you want loud and entertaining then go and join Nikos and Spikey for shots all night and fire eating for entertainment.  Order a bottle of beer and watch how nikos opens it. OH MY GOD!!!

Great bar which also doubles up as an Internet Cafe - very good rates.  Vassilis is very friendly and on hand to chat and entertain. See you September.

Fantastic full english - must make a visit at least once.  Black pudding was gorgeous.  Good value and kept us full all day.

Like so many other people over the past few visits to Alykes we kept walking past this place heading for town and never made it in, but once we did we couldnt stop going back. 

Another year in Alykes and another visit to Anatolikos.  As always great traditional greek food and friendly service.  Great location by the sea to watch the sun go down.  Good prices so well worth a visit.  Try the local wine aswell as its good.

Have eaten here every year i've visited Alykes as the food is great.  The man on the road can be a bit pushy but its his job to get people in as they dont realise the tavernas tucked away by the beach (not as bad as the "free wine, would you like to see the menu" lady across the road!!)  but once you're there the atmosphere is very relaxed and its a lovely setting for dining the greek way.

Great Gyros pittas and souvlaki plates.  Always friendly service and good prices - well worth a visit.  Its usually our first meal after a long day of travelling when we arrive in Alykes.

Not traditional greece but worth a visit for if you want to dress up and go out on a special night.  Still serving greek food but then offering alot more besides.  Air conditioned restaurant with all the trimmings. 

Still serving great food and good prices with very friendly staff.  The meze starter for 2 is great value but be warned you'll struggle to eat your main course as theres alot of it so choose something light for your main or you'll be bursting at the seams.  Local wine is very goood.

 Love the food here and the staff are really friendly.  Great value for money too.

One thing i didnt want to do was go for a Chinese or Indian whilst in Greece but went along with the family for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed it to my surprise.

Great place for breakfast or light bite at lunch.  The custard pies are amazing still warm, Yum!  The chilled MochaChoc shake and Frappes are gorgeous - very refreshing.  The fresh squezzed orange juice is amazing.

This is the BEST bar you could ever wish to visit.  It gets better every year.  Tina Nikos & Chris are the greatest hosts keeping you entertained all night with their dancing, singing and uplifting personalities.  I spent every night here for 2 weeks in July and every night was spent laughing along with everyone.

Cocktails are fantastic here especially Tina's White Russian and Chris's Banana Daquiri & Greek Style Pimms!! but my favourite's the extra cold Mythos (with a straw)

Just got back from staying at the Lofos for a week and its a lovely place.  Elias and his wife are very friendly and the rooms are nice and spacious and clean.  The pool bar offers great food at very reasonable prices.  Didnt spend much time in the pool as it was a bit too cold for me this time of year but its a real sun trap for getting a tan.

For anyone who was in Alikanas or Alykes on Wednesday 26 September they should know how much i enjoyed the train ride.  We made sure everyone heard us or waved and we were very loud!!

About 17 regulars from the Iris Bar went on the train to the museum, church and the Taverna and it was the best day out EVER!!!!  Nice to find out some history about the villages and the island and use one of the funniest toilets you'll use (always helps to take someone to hold it on a breezy day!!!!!! those who have visited will know what i mean!!).

You must have the Pork Souvlaki Plate at the taverna its fantastic and only 6 euro and you'll need something to absorb the wine - it does make you into a giggling, cheering, singing idiot - but thats what its all about going and having a fun time.  Excellent day which must be sampled at least once or more if your liver can handle it!!  Make sure you wave to the locals if they come out to wave - no-one thinks its silly!!!!

another visit to alykes and another week spent in the iris bar.  everytime i visit i don't believe that they can get any better but each time they prove me wrong.  a huge thank you to tina, nikos, chris & akis for their hospitality and friendship and for introducing me to the best bunch of people i've ever met and who have become strong friends now i'm home.  there are too many names to mention but you all know who you are!!

if you don't take my word for it all you need to do is read the many comments to see how much this bar is loved by all those who visit it.  no matter how much i go on words can never express the love i have for this bar and the people involved in the running of it.  it holds a special place in my heart and no matter where i've been i've never visited anywhere like it.  not long now guys before you can have a much deserved rest.  missing you all more than ever and more than you know.  with love and hugs as always panagiota (aka yoda or yoghurt) xxxx see you all next year xxxxxx

For anyone visiting Alykes for the first time you must search out this bar.  It's on the Katastari Road about 200m up from the main cross roads in Alykes and serves the best cocktails, cold beers, milkshakes etc.  It's also home of the best mini golf.  Tina, Chris and the rest of the gang are there to entertain and keep the drinks flowing.  Suitable for families, couples, lone travellers and well anyone really - you're always welcome at the Iris!!

Playing all kinds of music to suit all tastes and showing Sports on the giant screen and TV's it's got something to suit EVERYONE!

Once you've visited its guaranteed you'll go back, great drinks at great prices and most of all great people thats the customer aswell as the staff, so make sure you pay them a visit.

just returned from another amazing week in sunny alykes and had a great week again at the iris - just had to mention they now have a quiz nite every wednesday night so make sure you go it shouldnt be missed.
