I got back from Alykes 22 September I enjoyed the meals so much I .ate there nearly every night I allso found the staff very friendly.
I found this to be 1 of the best if not the best Retaurants between he 2 small villages Elani the young ladies name I think was fantastic the food superb andf the owner gave me a c/d from Greek music with Zorba the greek which I could not buy in the villages and I needed the misic he ahd 2 of the cds. Greta nights there. I have eaten in a lot of restaurants in the past years but this one beats a lot of them. EWas there with family and a few others in July will be back August first 2 weeks 2012 and our first stop is Pondorosa.
I found this year to get the best meals was not to look at the menu but to ask the waitress what was on offer I must have gone through the Greek menu, I would still definately recomend this taverna
I had some really lovely meals here I would deffinately recomend this taverna to anyone. A great menu something for everyone and swordfish to die for. Will be back next year
Still great food for great value so is a must whilst staying in Alykes you wont be disappointed!!
Beautiful food. Very friendly chap who speaks very good english. Nice atmosphere. The red house wine is lovely here. Kleftiko is fab as is the Greek Plate which contains three greek specialities - stuffed toms, stuffed aubergines and moussaka - lovely. Reasonable prices too. Just a shame we found it a bit too late in our holiday so could only fit in 3 visits.
Still serving great food and good prices with very friendly staff. The meze starter for 2 is great value but be warned you'll struggle to eat your main course as theres alot of it so choose something light for your main or you'll be bursting at the seams. Local wine is very goood.
The best restaurant in Alykes. Guarenteed a great meal here everytime you visit. The fish is a must - always fresh and cooked to perfection. The greek plate for 1 is also highly recommended 3 portions of different dishes to try a bit of everything. The Saganaki was the best ive ever had and the Village Sausage Ponderosa was to die for!! The local wine is also very good and must be tried.
You must try this place and i'm sure you'll visit it again and again. Staff are very friendly and look after you very well.Just returned from our visit to Alykes. Ate at the Ponderosa most nights in the fortnight. The food is great value for money and the service is excellent. I was trying to work through the menu as everything that I tasted was divine. My husband particurlarly liked the swordfish svoulaki and will be remembered by the staff for this. A great big thank you and hello to Makki, Karen, Colin, Linda and Nancy for their outstanding service. See you again next year. Kathie & Mick.
this restruant is easily the best in town. the service was great and the food was even better !!!!!
We found it a bit hard to find a good Greek meal but were recommended the Ponderosa by our Jeep Safari driver who was Greek and the food was excellent, the service matched the food.
Very good food and service. I has chicken souvlaki and it was fantastic. If we're back in Alykes next year we will definitely return
My friend Brenda and I have just returned from 7 days in Alykes. Once we found the Ponderosa we had to keep returning. We ate there on 5 evenings and tried a variety of dishes from the menu, all of which were excellent in taste, value and service. 5 thoroughly enjoyable evenings.
We dined at lots of places on our two week holiday in Alykes, but this was the first one we returned to for a second visit!
Great food and service here no matter how busy they are, the stifado is superb and the portions just right, some places give you too much, and the prices well even with wine and two g&ts it was less than £25 don't miss it if you are in Alykes
Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. We used it at least 5 times in two weeks. Karen, the waitress is lovely. This was our second visit to Alykes and we have still to find a restaurant to beat it!
There are a lot of tavernas in Alykes. Most are very good but Ponderosa is that bit better in all respects. Recommend you visit.
lovely , we ate here 3 times in our second week , excellent value we had 5 main courses and 5 sweets & drinks for 55 euro , the sea bream in my daughters opinion was fab
We have been going to Alykes for 7 years and in June this year had the best food we have ever had in Greece. Wonderful food, good service only problem it is on the main road.
just back from alykes 22/05/2005 and i have to say that the ponderosa is very overated in my opinion. the food was average and the service was fair. not really very good value for money.5/10
