This is a great website for the sceptical like me, Just read some interesting comments about the Sunflower apartments. My wife and I will be going there September 5th 2005, we will post our comments on our return. We are both early 40's, not qiute over the hill yet, but too old for 18 - 30's type holiday. We will post some photographs aswell as our honest comments.
Just spent 2 weeks at the Sunflower apartments, at first we we given a gruond floor studio that was pretty grotty, although clean the apartments are in need of refurbishment and decorating. Not happy with the apartment we asked to be moved upstairs, coz we had heard they were better, true enough they are much better, which pissed me off to think i would have been paying the same to stay on the ground floor.
|Apartments walls are paper thin, so you can hear your neighbours break wind, at about 4am each day you will be woken by the demented cockerills that live just behind your digs, or if you manage to sleep through that, there are always the shotguns going off at about 4:30 till 5:30, or if your real lucky you may get the Irish family from hell who would wake you any hour day or night. if you are planning a relaxing holiday dont go to Laganas, the place constantly buzzes with kids on mopeds and quad bikes, you need your wits about you just to walk down the street. Pavements are very poor or none existent, but thats nowt new for Greece. Great place to go if your 18 - 30, not so good if your older. Anyone thinking of Scuba diving, i would highly reccomend Euro Divers, i took my open water qualification with them, although it was quite tough and took 3 long days, the people are brill, ask to speak to Vajio (Viyo) or Magda. you cant miss them, just head for the beach, turn right, and you will see there sign on the beach.Hello Joanne Harrison. The Sunflower Apartments are situated in a side street about 5 minutes walk from the relax bar. If you want a little advice, make sure you get a top floor apartment, they are much better than the grotty studios on the lower floors, and they cost the same. The ownwers Magda and George are real nice people, if your not happy tell them. We did and got moved to the upper digs 3 days after our arrival. Don't expect to get much sleep. Having probably totally pissed you off, dont wory, other than the 3 days rain we had, we id find places we liked and had a great holiday after all.
Hi. If your thinking or dreaming of diving in warm water's in far away places. Then I would highly reccomend Euro Divers, I had done a bit of diving in the UK a few years back (13), but i thought why not get my open water qualification then i can dive at my leasure. I looked at a couple of other dive places and chatted with the staff. But Euro divers won easily, Highly skilled professional patient people who really took time out to make us feel welcome and safe. The full open water course was only 290 euro, that was with the hire of full kit. By the end of the course i had learnt so many skills and increased my own confidence so much, i could not wait to get back in the water, so i booked another couple of dives.
