Sunflower Studios

What a great place to stay, very clean, food good, pool clean, George & Mavra are rearly lovely, only a short walk to beach/main strip, would go back again.

Got back from Sunflower on 10 September. What an absolutely fantastice place. George, Mavra and John are all stars! The pool was gorgeous plenty of sunbeds for everyone, the rooms were clean, the BBQ was a stunner. What more can i say except i highly recommend it.

We will definately be back next year! (Just hope that cockerals croaked it by then! )

just got back from staying in the sunflower apartments for 2 weeks, this is my 8th time in zante but 1st time in the sunflower, the apartments where lovely and clean, maid came in every day and bed changed every other day, the owners where lovely and very helpfull, we went to the bbq and no we arnt oaps and enjoyed every minute off it worth the 13 euros food was lovely and as for the wine it goes straight to your head, its about a 3 min walk in to the main strip just watch the corner that there is not busses coming round the bend, we have 14 days of  lying by the pool and god what a pool its was great, anyone looking for nice apartments that is away from the noise of the nightlife but not to far to go out then i would say these are the apartments for you, we will be booking to stay here again, we booked are flight then booked the apartments direct with the owners and got a 3rd floor apartment, on the day we where leaving we asked the owners to phone a taxis for us but no they wouldnt hear of it and instead they drove us to the airport themself so that in its self should tell you what lovely people the owners are. 

Me and two friends just got back from Laganas, stayed at the Sunflower Apartments for a week.  Must say that the owners were not at all friendly towards us, the only time they wanted to speak to us was when they were trying to talk us into paying 13 euros to go to their BBQ night (which we declined thankfully as it looked like a help the aged convention!!)  Got the distinct impression that they expect their guests to be tucked up in bed by midnight at the latest, in which case WHY OWN APARTMENTS IN A RESORT LIKE LAGANAS?????  As a word of warning to anyone staying here, our room was on the ground floor and on the first night I woke up to find some drunken weirdo attempting to climb over the railings and get into our room.  The next morning, the couple staying in the room next door told us that they had 180 euros stolen from their room while they were asleep! So lock yer doors and pay out for air con instead.  The accommodation itself was nice but basic, and when you take a shower be prepared to take a bath at the same time as the shower curtain did not serve any purpose and the bathroom floor was like a swimming pool.  Anyway, enough of that, Laganas was brilliant, totally wicked holiday and we loved every minute (apart from England losing to Portugal) .... P.S Beware of the mosquitos, we were eaten alive!!!!!!!!

Stayed in sunflower for 2 weeks last August, apartment was ok, basic and clean. Although from reading other comments we got raw deal as we were on bottom floor!!!! Still not really much to complain about!

we stayed at the sunflower appartments in june 2005 and loved every mintue of it, the owners where lovely people and everything was perfect here. can't wait to go back there aain especially as it so close to the clubs but you can't hear them when you go to bed what ever the hour. i would deffinately suggest it to anyone who is going to zante

Hiya all Just been reading the comments on here re the Sunflower Apartments. Just have to say that we've been to Zante twice, stopped in the Sunflower the 1st time and then elsewhere the 2nd time (only 'cause it was cheaper than Thompson's price's and we were on an economy drive!) The apartments were lovely and so were the owners George and Mavra! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we'll be going back next year, and stopping at the Sunflower! Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, the rooms are lovely and clean, the pool is amazing and Zante itself is a wonderful island to visit. Don't be put off by the bad comments on here! Our stay was fantastic, and looking forward to a repeat performance next year!!!!!!

We stayed with Mavra  and George three times, the first twice we really enjoyed it and were treated like family.  Sadly the last time we were there in May 2003 Laganas was being invaded by the 18-30s which absolutely ruined what was for us the ideal holiday spot to unwind.  NO DOUBT THE LOUTS WILL FIND ANOTHER DESTINATION SOME DAY and I will certainly go back.

 thanks alan for your review, we have booked to go the 27th aug till 10th sep next year, i booked direct with the owner of the apartments and he says it will be a top floor apartment, which i think he keeps for people like myself, or for those who take a chance and just get a flight over there, hopefully if he is true to his word we should be ok, i will remember to take my earplugs for the night time to have a good sleep, thanks again for ur reveiw 

Hello Joanne Harrison. The Sunflower Apartments are situated in a side street about 5 minutes walk from the relax bar. If you want a little advice, make sure you get a top floor apartment, they are much better than the grotty studios on the lower floors, and they cost the same. The ownwers Magda and George are real nice people, if your not happy tell them. We did and got moved to the upper digs 3 days after our arrival. Don't expect to get much sleep. Having probably totally pissed you off, dont wory, other than the 3 days rain we had, we id find places we liked and had a great holiday after all.

Just spent 2 weeks at the Sunflower apartments, at first we we given a gruond floor studio that was pretty grotty, although clean the apartments are in need of refurbishment and decorating. Not happy with the apartment we asked to be moved upstairs, coz we had heard they were better, true enough they are much better, which pissed me off to think i would have been paying the same to stay on the ground floor.

hi going to sunflower apartments next year, could someone tell me are they by the pink panter or the relax bar, i have been to zante loads but dont no where these apartments are.

This is a great website for the sceptical like me, Just read some interesting comments about the Sunflower apartments. My wife and I will be going there September 5th 2005, we will post our comments on our return. We are both early 40's, not qiute over the hill yet, but too old for 18 - 30's type holiday. We will post some photographs aswell as our honest comments.

Just got back from having stayed 1 week in these apartments.  The apartment was lovely, basic but very clean.  Although the air conditioning didn’t work, you could hire fans to use anyway.  There is a decent sized pool, which is well maintained and there were always plenty of sun beds available.  The pool music was never too loud.  The owners are very friendly and always around if you need anything.  The location is ideal, there is a small supermarket just round the corner and 5 minutes to the main strip - but still far enough away that you don’t hear any noise from the bars and clubs.  I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone! 

We booked the two bedroom apartment using the website, no problems!
We arrived September 24th 2004 3 adults, and one two year old. the apartment was beautiful, it was on the top floor which are for private bookings, and was two bedroom/lounge/kitchenette/bathroom type. the view was fantastic(panoramic), and the balcony was perfectly safe, and massive(with two tables each with four chairs). The apartment was the best i have stayed in zakynthos,spacious,clean well maintained,and everything worked, from the air conditioning to the massive fridge freezer.the pool area is perfect, no struggle getting a lounger, and one of the best maintained pools in laganas(long enough to do lenghths).the owners were very friendly, not intrusive but always available, we just got on with our holiday, and loved the relaxed atmosphere.although there is music played by the pool it is a variety of different music to suit all, its never to loud, and stops at a reasonable time.location wise the apartment is 5mins from the main strip, and 15 mins from the beach, we didnt need a torch as was suggested, as the pathway is lit.
I would recommend this apartment highly, and to book it direct.

Have just returned after 2 weeks, well 1 week really, cos 2nd week spent at Argassi, we were mislead by the Thompson description of Sunflower Studios..was described as "relaxing and able to unwind by the poolside" This you could NOT do because of the constant LOUD volume of the music from the poolside hi fi speakers. No good staying here if you are a couple and want a relaxing peaceful holiday.No god if you want a kip before going out in the evening, the location of the apartments is in a quiet area, but this year plenty of single sex groups are staying there and this has a tendancy to spoil it for those who WANT a quiet peaceful holiday, rowdy groups returning totally blotto at 4-5am in the morning. These people adopt the attitude of "stuff you mate, I'm on holiday so bugger it" typical behaviour that gives the English abroad a bad name.

We stayed at the Sunflower the 1st 2 weeks in May and absolutely loved it. The apartments/pool areas were kept spotlessly clean, and as there are just 21 apartments there is no rush to put towels down at 8am! The owners were very friendly and always around if you needed anything. The location is ideal, 2 minute walk from a small supermarket and 5 minutes off the main strip. We recommend them to anyone and we will definately be going back.

Just got back from staying at these apartments yesterday. The apartments were basic but very clean.(Cleanest toilets in laganas) The owners were extremely helpful and friendly,make a great cup of tea in the morning..The pool area was nice quiet and relaxing it even has a view!! Not of the sea but not of other buildings either! It is about 5 mins from the main strip so close enough to crawl home without getting lost, but not to close that you hear the noise!! You also have to go past Strings(best bar in laganas) to get to the strip so a good excuse to stop off there first! On a Wed night the owners do a Greek BBQ and dancing,be warned you will be encouraged to join in they make it fun and really appreciate you having a go. Myself and my friends were really impressed with both the apartments and the owners and had a fantastic time here. We will definately be going back :-)

I am going to sunflower apartments in july and heard its really near the bars and nightlife. Is this true I was originally told this is a place for couples/families and I don't want to be in a 'Magaluf' area with my boyfriend than my mates.

Me and my fiancee stayed in the Sunflower appartments in July. The appartments were really nice. About a five minute walk to the main strip, but still far enough away that you cant hear anything.

Decent sized pool, which was really quiet all day, and there is no rush for sunbeds, always some free.

The rooms are a decent size, with a basic kitchen, but then again, you dont go on holiday to do gourmet cooking.

The only down side was the price of drinks at the poolside bar. Why pay 4 euros for a beer when the shop round the corner sells them for 90 cents ??

All in all, a great place to stay if you dont want to be annoyed by the knobheads from 18 - 30.

Even tho i didnt stay at these apartments, we walked past them to get to our apartments, and they look really nice, so nice were gonna stay there next year!! It is bout 5 min walk to the night life, but is far away enough that you cant hear the noise!!!

I am thinking of booking up to go to these apartments with my fiance. We are looking for somewhere close to the beach and nitelife but that is fairly quiet too...........no 18-30s. Can anyone tell me if this would be suitable or will be over run by drunken mad folks??

I visited the Sunflower apts. last summer. The situation is excellent for those who want to be close to the night life but still able to sleep whatever time of day their head hits the pillow! The pool area is also lovely, huge pool, clean and also quiet with a freindly pool bar and pool table. Definately one of the better Laganas Apts.
