Yiannis - (Restaurants in Laganas)

Tracey G  (26 September 2005)

This restaurant is brilliant , the food served here is delicious and you get a real taste of Greece, the village lamb is a must!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing, you can spend all night sitting at your table and don't feel under any pressure to leave.

For a good meal and a good price this place can't be beaten, only problem is finding it the location could be a bit better as it is not on a road you would be walking along to pass by chance but well worth the effort to get there.

Looking forward to eating here again in 2006.

Marys Place - (Restaurants in Laganas)

Tracey G  (26 September 2005)

Discovered this place 8 years ago on our first visit to the Island and fell in love with the pancakes and maple syrup and the ham and pineapple pizzas!!!!!!! - No one does a Hawian pizza like Dennis :-)

This is a brilliant restaurant with great food and it is excellent value for money, the staff are wonderful and the family that own and run the place are the best.

See you all in 2006 - get that pizza ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marathonisi Island - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Tracey G

We hired a boat from the beach in Laganas and took a trip over to Marathonisi, the boat was slow but it was a great journey and the beach at Marathonisi is stunning.  The water is so clear and clean over there too and didn't appear to be as salty as the sea at Laganas.

There is a little speedboat that sails round Marathonisi and calls itself a bar boat, he sells ice cream, rolls, juice water etc.....  and is a really cool idea.

Heading round the Island and going to the caves is awesome and there is a little pebble beach that you can top up your tan on.

Only a short trip from Laganas but it feels like a million miles away when you are there, we took a picnic and spent a few hours there and had a great time - would recommend a trip here to anyone!!!!!!

Anastasia Beach Hotel - (Accommodation in Laganas)

Tracey G

We have stayed at this hotel for the last 5 years and have already booked to go back again twice next year!!!

The hotel is beautiful, the location is superb and the staff can't be more helpful - previous comments about unhelpful staff have baffled me as I have yet to come across anyone who is less than helpful in this hotel, whether it be management, reception, bar or cleaning staff they were all more than helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

We stay on a B&B basis but ate a few times in the hotel this year (we were there 1st 2 weeks of September) at a cost of 7.95 Euro ahead, the food was delicious and there was more than enough choice we both felt that the quality of food was outstanding for the small amount of money charged and the desserts were out of this world!!!!!!

The rooms are nice, clean and more than adequate for what you require on holiday - who spends lots of time in their room anyway???  Previous comments about air con etc..... being charged locally are correct but this is not a case of the hotel management trying to rip people off, as someone put it, it should be clearly printed in your brouchure and if it is not then your tour company are at fault and NOT the hotel.

This is probably one of the IF NOT THE BEST hotels on the Island, the family that run the hotel are lovely and so welcoming and really make you feel at home.

We love the place and can't wait to go back again, the hotel must be doing something right as there were over 50% repeat guests this year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you in May guys!!!!!

Toad in the Hole - (Restaurants in Laganas)

Tracey G

Been coming to Island for years but didn't start eating in here till 2005, not for any other reason than the place is always busy and when we passed there were never any free tables.

The food in here is out of this world, the breakfasts are superb and really good value for money.  You can have anything you fancy from a fry-up, bacon roll or a bowl of cereal - so there is definately something for everyone.

The couple that run Toad in the Hole are wonderful, Angela and Yiannis - Angela does all the cooking and Yiannis waits on the tables, you are made to feel so welcome everytime you go in.  The portions are big - don't make the mistake I did, I ordered a starter of potato skins then had the mince pie and couldn't eat it all!!!!!!!!  Angela gave me a row for not eating my greens!!!!!!!

We would recommend this place to anyone and can't wait to go back in September.

If you are going to Laganas this place is definately worth a try!!!!!
