Sweet
Revenge could now take the top spot as the best restuarant in Tsilivi.
More and more greeks are choosing to eat there now as Margaret and
Danny expand their repertoire. The Zaknithian Rabbit is
absolutely delicious, the pasta dishes are so tasty and so BIG and if
you want the 'full English', nobody makes it fuller.
We love you loads Mags, and give our best to Danny and Sofia.
Happy New Year,
Terry and Jak
There are boat trips to the Shipwreck, blue caves, and for Leatherback Turtle spotting (caretta caretta)
If going on any trips be sure to take your own supplies of food and
drink because the prices on the boat are really ridiculous. take a
cardigan or some such with you to protect you from the wind (and
sometimes the sun as the reflections from the water can amplify the
amount of sun you get without knowing it). Shop around for trips
- in other words, best not to buy from the tour rep as they get a cut
too. There are plenty of stops throughout each village where you can
obtain these trips. Happy Holidays - maybe see you there as we
plan to be in Tsilivi at least once this year.
UTOPIA,
YANNIS and THE GANG HAVE MOVED. Contrary to reports filtering
back to the island, the bar has NOT CLOSED. Yannis has recreated
the old bar in a new location - just across the road from the MANOS
GRILL. The place is bigger and brighter. Yannis has managed to maintain
the same great atmosphere using the same great staff and the same
scruffy pool table.
We were there in May after he first
re-opened and he tells us now that he will be serving food (other than
breakfast) in the evenings because of the improved kitchen facilities -
Pizza, spaghetti etc.
I have included a picture to better
help you recognise it in the dark and Yannis has kindly lit the front
in green to guide you in.
Much
like my waistline on my last visit, Sweet Revenge has expanded !
Margaret and Danny have the largest menu and the largest portions we
have seen anywhere in the village, or on the island. The food is
still of excellent quality and they are packed almost every night.
"Margaret's side" of the Restaurant is a little cooler than Danny's,
and Danny has made a great job of the decor.
My advice would
be to EAT EARLY. This will guarantee a table, prompt service, and
enough time before bed (or bar) to digest the enormous meal you will
undoubtedly consume. We always have a good laugh during the day
when a Sweet Revenge virgin orders the Full Breakfast, then feels
compelled to photograph the plate, never having seen a more full
breakfast.
I would recommend this place to anyone and
everyone. The quality of food is second to none and the portions are...
challenging.
For DAZ COLTON. Sweet Revenge is at the other end of the resort from the Contessina Hotel. On the corner of the street that the Contessina is on there is a restaurant called Maina. This is a great place to eat too - family run, quality food and a great atmosphere. I would recommend you walk the ten or fifteen minutes to Sweet Revenge too, though. Your rep should be able to direct you. Alternatively, walk up past Maina, turn left, and continue down the strip for 5 minutes, stopping at Utopia Bar. Yannis will happily direct you to Sweet Revenge. Across from Utopia is the Manos Grill, another great place to eat, but a little more expensive than those mentioned before. The Contessina is a great hotel and I'm sure you will have a great time. Always take insect repellent.
