had a good time at Zante Palace and would definatley consider going back there again in the future, even with the climb up cardiac hill. The view from the terrace was well worth it. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Accommodation was clean.
They bring you the starters out on a big tray and you pick the one's you want which was v. nice and quick as you can get stuck in straight away....but...... we asked for the house white wine and they brought us the most expensive bottle on the menu. (Bang went the tip!!!). Also the main courses did not live up to the standard of the starters. They don't seem to do much for children either.
We went here on our first night and were quite early as well as being tired from a long flight. The place was almost empty and the staff seemed to have nothing to do but look after us and one other couple in there. The starters came out OK but it took nearly an hour to get the main course served. I shudder to think what happens if they get busy in there. We never went back at all that week. The first impression was not good.
The guy on the door was ok the first night but as we had to go by every night to get into town it became a bit of a pain in the end. Still, that's what they pay him for. The food was OK and on a par with most other places, but when you've been there you like to try other places. Someone tell the doorman......please.
This place was fine, the food was good and there was a decent play area to keep the kid(s) busy as well. Watch out for the Metaxa Brandy at the end of a meal if you have one...or two. I'm sure it came in a pint pot. I can't really remember.
We liked it very much. One of the best meals we had there. Lots of locals in there as well tells you something. Worth a visit.
