Cronulla Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          10/10

did not want to come home, am sat in front of computer drinkin ouzo wishin we were back at cronulla... excellent as ever, the family are as friendly as always, the rooms are very clean, superb value for money... and big news for anyone who has stayed at cronulla before..THE LIFT IS WORKING!!! air-con has also been fitted to the rooms, but at 40euro a week maybe its a tad pricey? i would have no problem though in recommending cronulla to anyone who has not been to kalamaki before, and we will certainly be returning again soon (hopefully)

Oasis Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          10/10

our favourite chill-out bar. its always a good, welcoming atmosphere. we've not been to kalamaki for 3years, but dennis remembered us AND what drinks we had! the cocktails are made using genuine branded spirits (unlike some other popular places), and we can recommend the brandy coffee's. just a nice place to go and relax

Great staff, fun and very friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices, good service

Plus Soda - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Sandra P  (28 May 2007)        8/10

We visited plus soda 2004 when it first opened, and we spent many nights here. however, when we went this year we were slightly disappointed. The quiz nite was always popular (we won three breakfasts and free cocktails), but the cocktails were not quite as they seemed, and the time between each question was on occassions far too long, prompting us to leave.  Lots of people were commenting on this. The bar did undergo a transformation just before we left to come home, new seating was put in which gave it a slightly more "up-market" feel. its worth a visit, but will the ambiguous "snowball" question ever be answered?

Zakynthos Airport - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Sandra P          4/10

The arrivals is now open, much better than before but beware. we went in may and it was stifling waiting for the luggage...and slow. when its time to leave, the departure area is larger than it was but there is very little seating. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE SNACK BAR!!!  prices are extortionate to say the least, we bought a small carton of fruit juice at 3.50 euro.  Things are better but still a way to go!

Bocca BBQ - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P  (28 May 2007)        5/10

Very disappointed with this one, had excellent meal on our last visit in 2004, but this time it was not that good. the mixed grill my husband had was poor, the special (greek sirloin) which incidentely was on the board most nights was not what i expected. we went just the once and probably wont bother trying again when we go back to kalamaki

Dias - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          10/10

Lovely atmosphere if you ignore the road noise.  Very friendly service, excellent food.  Had three meals here and could not fault any.  Potato skins with cheese and bacon , souvlaki, roast lamb, pork in apple sauce, sirloin steak, baklava, strawberry's with cream are all recommended. this place is not on the main road in kalamaki, its just behind cronulla hotel. go and find it....you will not be disappointed

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P  (28 May 2007)        8/10

Two evening meals here, first one was very good roast beef sunday dinner, second was ok both had fish.. salmon & sole. the service is good though. we had 3 breakfasts here on account that we got prizes from the quiz next door at plus soda, which were excellent value for money at 3.50euro each if you had to pay for them (!)... if your looking for good service and a huge choice from the menu then this place is worth a try, but if your looking for a "proper greek atmosphere" then try elsewhere

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          7/10

Quite disappointed with this one, had lots of good meals here in previous years.  This was a very rainy evening but still quite busy.  The thing that spoiled it for me was that we skipped the starter and ordered just a main course, Beef Zakinthian & Lasagne, they arrived in much less than 5 minutes from placing our order...freshly cooked I don't think so!!  Find it hard to give a negative comment on this place as its been so good before, but on this occassion  it did not live upto expectations

Olive Tree Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          6/10

we have to say this was a disappointment. we didnt mind the delay to be seated, after all thats usually a good sign if so many people are waiting, especially in may. the chicken souvlaki was bland and tasteless, the other chicken dish was equally unmemorable. give it a try if you like, but there are other places we would recommend you try first.

Pandesia - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          8/10

Nice place and atmosphere.  Starters saganaki and baked feta were very good, chicken souvlaki was tasteless and dry, potatoes and veg were good and hot. Well worth a visit, maybe should have given it another go!

Paris - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P  (28 May 2007)        7/10

starters of potato skins quite greasy, pork steak lots of it and tasty, salmon steak not much of it but ok. there's a nice atmosphere here, we so want to like this place as we ate here 5 nights out of 7 in 2000 and we always give it another chance, but it never quite makes the mark.

Stani - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          10/10

just go and give it a try. depending on where you stay it might be a bit of a stroll but its worth it. The service here is always very welcoming and friendly.  Always had one meal here on previous visits to Kalamaki, this year we have to say the food was excellent. its good value for money (2 small mythos, garlic bread, 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 sweets, bottle of good quality wine.. all for less than 40 euro, about £28)... we recommend the saganaki oven cheese (best we tasted), roast lamb, mixed grill and especially the baklava for dessert. just as a by the way, the toilets are probably the best in kalamaki! cant rate this place highly enough

Zepos Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sandra P          6/10

Lovely atmosphere and setting, food not as good as previous visits, both had zakinthian chicken which was ok, cant remember what we had for starters and/or sweet unfortunately..cant have been that memorable, which is a pity, but because its a bit off the beaten track it really needs to try harder with the quality of the food. this place could be amazing, but we only found it to be average when we visited unfortunately

Cronulla Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

as we were staying at the cronulla hotel, we enjoyed a few light lunches here. the tuna premier is recommended
