Nice relaxing bar, with great music ( 60s / 70s /80s nights ! ) Good luck to Ryan for the season. Hope to see you and 'John Travolta' on the door next season.
Great cocktails on the main strip ( Must Special is a must ! ) Hello Katie ! And the other Must Bar ( along the side road from Big Boys ) serves some good old-fashioned British food at a very reasonable price...try the Must Big Burger !
Nice relaxing bar to start your evening. Good food at a reasonable price. Cheap cocktails ( 2 for 5 euros ) Some are stronger than others. Recommend the 'After Eight'. Cheap internet access, and friendly staff.
Our favourite bar in Laganas. Great music, and great fun with the bar staff. They're all talented boys, particularly the bar wizard himself George ( Mr Zeros ! ) Bar tricks, juggling, fire-shows, and other games will keep you entertained for hours. After midnight, the bar splits in two. Go through the back for some good dance music, or stay in the front bar for the sounds of yesteryear.
Our favourite beach in all the Greek Isles we've been to. It's an extremely long beach, so everyone has plenty room. Sun loungers for hire at variable prices ( about 5 euros for two ). The sea is shallow for a good way out, and if you venture further, you might be lucky to spot a turtle !
We went on the Athens trip and found it great value for money. Booked with local travel agent Nikos ( picture attached ) on the main strip in Laganas ( beside the beach, opposite Must bar ). Better prices than booking with your rep. and every bit as good. ( 92 euros each ) We use him every year. The bus journey can be a bit tiring, and they stop for lunch in the middle of nowhere where the cafes only serve large meals and no snacks, but it's all part of the experience. We didn't go on the 'bazooki' night, as we watched a live concert in Plaka square instead, but those who went said it was a great night.
The 'changing of the guard', and the visit to the Parthanon were well worth the visit.Where exactly is the Avanti ? I can't remember seeing it, and we'll be going back to Laganas next year.
Stayed at Zante D'Oro the first two weeks in June. Apartments are clean and tidy, and well maintained by Irene and her husband. Linen changed three times over the two weeks. Accommodation is basic, but this is normal for Greek apartments. New this year are electric kettles in the rooms ! 100 metres to beach, and a 5 minute stroll to resort centre. You may encounter late night /early morning noise from the 'young and lively' at neighbouring Twenty's Hotel, and Dados Hotel, but this didn't really bother us that much. You get used to it after the first couple of nights, but I don't think it would suit older couples or families.
Hi to Ryan and Eylis from the freezing cold north of Scotland. Thanks for looking after us most evenings on our recent holiday. That local beer fairly puts hair on your chest ( pity it wasn't on my head, eh ? ) Great bar, great prices, great music. Well worth a visit !
After reading favourable reviews on here, we tried Mr Dallas and were not disappointed. We ate there most nights, and found Kostas, his wife, and staff would go out of their way to make sure our needs were catered for. Food was excellent, offering an extensive menu to suit all tastes, and prices were very reasonable. ( Best moussaka we've ever tasted ! ) Service was quick, and always with a smile. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
If you're looking for the perfect spot on the beach, choose sunbeds in front of Sirocco restaurant, beside Hotel Australia. They're 5 euros for two, and you get looked after by the amazing George, who runs after you all day. He will fetch you drinks, food, ash trays, chase the stray dogs away, and watch your belongings while you swim in the sea, or nip off for a snack. It's also a lot quieter here, than further along the beach where some bars play loud music all day !
Just back from two weeks in Laganas, where we spent 14 nights in Zeros. For us, it's the best bar on the strip. The bar staff will entertain you with their juggling and fire-eating, and new for this year is 'Wally-ball' ( give it a go if you dare ! ).
This used to be one of our favourite bars in Laganas, but seems a bit run down this year, as does the resort itself actually.
Looking back at my comments made a year ago, you would hardly recognise it as the same beach. The Sirrocco is gone, and a lot of sunbeds as well. The resort is quiet, the beach is less busy, and less noisy.
If you fancy a day off the beach, take the local bus inot Zante Town. We took a day trip from Tsilivi, it cost 1 euro 40 each, and took about 20 minutes.
Have a stroll along the harbour front, which is very scenic, and watch the boats and ferries come in and out.Went to Tsilivi this year, but spent one night visiting old friends in Laganas. Needless to say we chose Mr Dallas for our evening meal, having ate there most nights last year, and were not disappointed. Mr and 'Mrs' Dallas are charming hosts, the menu is extensive, serving the best of both Greek and British dishes.
A nice restaurant, serving a good mix of both Greek and British food. Just like heading down to your local chip shop, with the plastic sauce botles already waiting for you on the table...my kinda place !
Yes to confuse things there are two similarly named restaurants. We ate at that one right next to our Spiros apartments, next door to Alamis Apts, and Planos Beach Hotel. It's spelt 'Dionisios'. The food was excellent, the plates were massive, and the prices were indeed very cheap.
MacDonalds no more...it's now closed !
A very nice restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. The staff couldn't have done more to look after us. Reasonable prices as well.
They say 'You can Never Leave'...we went there on our first night and never went back ! To be honest, it was at the other end of the resort from where we were staying, and we found better entertainment closer to home.
Great bar. Good music. Entertaining and friendly bar staff. Cabaret nights are best, featuring Hayley Bell and Elvis. These nights are not to be missed. Also watch out for barman George ( Party Boy ! ) singing Speedy Gonzalez on top of the bar, whilst the other barman Nico sets fire to the bar ! His duet with Hayley on 'Valerie' is showstopping !!!
A nice, friendly bar with a good atmosphere, created mostly by the two waiters Alex and Nikos, who like getting up to a bit of tomfoolery. If they don't put a stupid wig on you at some point, then you must be too boring to be in the bar !
A nice relaxing bar just down the road a bit from the reptile house. A friendly atmosphere created by the two barmen Spiros ( Mel Gibson lookalike ), and Fotis, who take time to get to know you, and will tell you all you need to know about the resort and Greek culture, if like us, you find that both fascinating and interesting.
A great fun bar, where you will be entertained by the extremely funny host Yannis, and barmen Ilias and Andy, not fogetting the delightful waitress Vanda, and Yannis' wife Thespina.
Just back from two weeks at the Spiros apartments, and would happily recommend them.
Just back from two weeks in Tsilivi, and spent most days on the lovely beach. It's quite a long, narrow beach, but very comfortable.
Unlike Laganas, there's no ghettoblasters pounding all day, or young guys kicking balls in your face while you're trying to sunbathe.Just back from a wonderful two weeks in Tsilivi, and would definitely go back again. Having spent the past 4 years in Laganas, it was time for us to drop down a gear.
Sorry if my comments have upset you Paul. But the whole point of this website is for people to offer their personal opinions on bars, restaurants etc, so that other visitors can read them, and get an honest flavour of what they can expect when they visit. Not everyone's opinions are going to be the same.
Sadly Laganas has gone downhill rapidly over the past couple of years. If you're on an 18-30 holiday, then you'll be okay, as you'll have one helluva party. However, you'll all probably be too drunk to notice a lot of bars and restaurants have closed down. Young revellers are going out at midnight and coming home early in the morning, so the restaurants are losing a lot of business.
Music in the bars, if that's what you call it, is now mostly club music, again to appeal to the youngDefinitely worth a visit. Lovely food, and reasonable prices. Dennis on the door is a lovely man, who is always pleased to see you, even if you go in or not. Top man. Top restaurant.
A favourite bar of ours over the years, but sadly for us, it's now very much geared towards young party people. The DJ only wants to play club music, which is a shame for us older people, who want to enjoy the entertaining bar staff, but are put off by the domineering music.
Lovely place to eat, whether you want good old fish and chips or a squid supper ! Highly recommended.
A nice, friendly restaurant. Good food, good prices.
Looks like it's gone ?
Eddie - Negative post ? I think it's you that's having a laugh my friend ! Try reading it again...I said it's a nice bar. Rated 7 out of 10. Sounds quite fair to me. It's all about opinions, isn't it ?
Eddie, I can't understand why you've got such a chip on your shoulder. We both enjoy the Two Brothers Bar, so what's your problem ?
We've been going to Zante for years, but finally bit the bullet and hired a car for the first time this summer. Hired our car from 'Pete the Greek', down the road leading to Kaliva Pub, right next door to Red Apple Bar. Pete couldn't be more helpful, and took time to explain everything about the hire agreement, then went on to help us plan our day out, once he knew what we wanted to do, and where we wanted to go. We hired a Hyundai Getz, and it was a cracking little car. Had a fantastic day out.
Quite an astute observation there Eddie. I believe I've left 52 reviews so far on my experiences in Zante, and I hope that other readers find them useful. I certainly find it a big help to read other people's reviews of bars, restaurants etc, and am a big supporter of this website as you will have noticed.
