I have just come back from a two week holiday on the 21st Oct and got manhandled into the restaraunt by Peter, so he is still there, he stands in the middle of the road, we were on a quad and he still stopped us. He is very rude when you say you don,t want to go in, makes you promise you will go in next night, then you don,t he shows he,s not happy. We did go in and my boyfriend had beef stiffado, which he liked, I got chicken rissotto, which was like eating luke warm sweet rice pudding with chicken. If you want to avoid being pestered, there is a back pathway and it is a godsend. You can still get to the main places but you can avoid Double. It comes out near Ledgends and Red Lion which I have to say are the best for burgers and pizzas.
We ate here a lot of the time, food very good and staff I found very friendly, had quite a few jokes with them. Especially doing kareoke, with free shots for every singer every song. The music quiz too, was fun to do, making up funny team names and winners get a free big cocktail, which we won, lovely. The place to go if you,re hungry and you want a burger, very reasonable prices and what you get for your money is a big meal, I got a bbq chicken burger fillet it was massive, nice and thick too, hardly fit in the bread bun, same with the mama mia chilli burger and you get chips too, absolutely lovely and filling, very tasty. The good thing is you can order from the Ledgends while you are in the Red lion, so you have a choice of two places to eat, but you know it will be very nice. Missing being there already, just got back. Love to u Ledgends Ady n Jo.
Gyros, Gyros, Gyros, yum yum and only 2euros. We just got back from a two week holiday (21.10.07). Lived on Gyros for night time snacking. Chicken or pork Gyros, with mayonnaise, bit of salad in, if you want it, some fries and then rolled in a round pitta bread, wow, hits the munchie spot, definately and you can order from the Snack Academy and have your food sent over to the Beer Academy opposite, which has good prices on beer. I did have an omelete too from the snack academy and that was delish too, loads of garlic, cheese and onion, mmm, you can ask for whatever you want in it, even if not noted on the menu, just ask.
I went to this place the other week in October don't know how they have any good feedback. The management were prats, the chef tried to serve hamster portions and bad, off tasting food, my boyfriend was ill for three days. The problem is, they serve you rubbish food and they still want you to pay for it. I had to be so loud and argue the toss to get anywhere because they wern't gonna budge, saying we'd eaten most of it, crap, how could you it was awful. I got money knocked off, but a bloke at the side of me, who had been served an awful steak that tasted like soap, ended up with a 6 euro pizza and they still charged him for a 17 euros steak, which he paid cos he couldn't be bothered arguing. I would't recommend them to anyone .
I came back from argassi on the 21st Oct from a two week holiday, this had to be one of my favourites. We were in the Beer Academy every day, the bar staff are great, especially the young cutie that works on the day time, what a cheeky chappie. He was very good when dealing with the rather drunken scottish man we made friends with, what a laugh. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed the Beer Academy, really good, relaxed atmosphere, the barman with the goatee beard is a right laugh (sorry, I should have got your names). Me and Ady can't wait to visit again A S A P. Thanks guys x x
Me and my boyfriend Ady, went in Rossi's nearly every day, great atmosphere, Rossi is ace, always waves and says hello whether you go in or are just walking past, very welcoming. We fell in love with Max the pub dog, he is great and I have lots of photos, if you go to Argassi you will definately bump into Max (black with a red collar) he goes everywhere. We went in to watch some of the football matches, Rossi gets so into it, its great to watch him. It is like having a drink with your mate, end of season and you would't know, he is still enthusiastic about making your visit, one to remember. Definately recommended and next time we visit, which hopefully will be soon, we are trying one of Rossi's Aussie Breakfasts, you have to be hungry cos they are massive.
I know that end of season, when Zante is slowing down, the bar persons can get a bit fed up, but we tried the Sunburnt Arms twice, once to try it out and the other to check it was as awfully as uncomfortable as the first time. In mid season, it probably is a lot better, but the two that were working the bar had faces like smacked butts and we felt really uncomfortable in there, like they wanted us out cos they could,t be bothered. The second time we were in, the owner who I think is called Mark, now he really makes an effort, really bubbly and chatty, that was a welcome relief, but the other two are spoiling it for him.
Ady n Jo here, came back from Argassi on 21st Oct from a two week holiday. The naughty barman (Illias I think) made our last night absolutely brilliant, what a night to remember. Good job we didn't have an early start, he was giving us ouzo shots, left, right and centre. I have him on camcorder, doing the bottle spinning and throwing, amazing to watch, he's absolutely mad. I especially like it when he takes the top off bottles, he catches them in his mouth, and spits them over his shoulder into a bin, dosn't miss many either. He likes to pinch items of clothing too, my boyfriend has a factory t-shirt now instead of a cuba top, good swap though, we wanted one. Really great night out, loved it, can't wait till we can visit again.
