The pool itself during the day is the best pool in Kalamaki. The evening entertainment leaves a lot to be desired. We entered a quiz which took 3 hours hosted by some stupid bird called Sue who kept singing and talking too much. The food was OK, but the waiter forgot to bring out my breakfast, which of course started something across the whole of the island and I didn't get my food on time for the rest of the holiday (much to the amusement of my friends). I would definitely recommend going to the pool during the day as it doesn't get very busy and they serve Mythos all day, but forget it in the evening.
We loved this bar. This was our second year here and Akis remembered us (which was quite surprising). Anyway, as you can imagine, he was very pleased to see us all again this year and there were free drinks a-plenty. Georgia is completely barmy but very loveable and Yannis is very quite but great at pressing the play button on the CD Player!! We spent most of our evenings here and even got involved in Karaoke (something none of us ever do). Thanks again go out to Georgia for getting me pissed.
Superb place for hiring vehicles. Would recommend the hire of both cars and bikes from here (hindsight is a wonderful thing) as the insurance is fully comp. They also deliver to your appartment, which is great if you are staying out of town like we were. There are no language barriers as the staff we dealt with were English and knowledgeable of the island (unlike Yiannis' bike hire). Don't think about going anywhere else, and certainly don't book one through your rep.
Yummy. The food here is great. My husband is a real steak man, and had tried various restuarants in Kalamaki, but said that this one was the best value. He paid 3,700 for a fillet steak that was about 10oz I think. It was also cooked just how he likes it (very fussy when it comes to steak). The pasta dishes were good but steer clear of the lasagne. Our friends had it and said that it was a bit tasteless and there was too much pasta and not enough meat. That said, I would definitely recommend.
Yuk. 5 out of the 6 meals we ordered tasted exactly the same. All had too much cinammon in them. The view was great, but the food was poor. Not recommended.
This is apparently the oldest restaurant on the island and it never fails to deliver. The food is superb - great if you want to sample traditional Greek cuisine. We made a couple of visits and also visited last year. We shall return. Highly recommended.
