Heavens Kitchen - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

John M          9/10

Ate here once during our one week stay, service was timely and friendly, I had the houmus starter which was nice and creamy (more like tahini paste, which I prefer), my wife had a nicoise salad starter which she liked.. Mains was kleftiko and steak, both very good

Would have returned, but wanted to try out other restaurants. Good wine list, good prices.

Kalamaki Beach Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

We stayed at the Kalamaki Beach hotel and did lunch here every day in our one week stay, and a full english breakfast on our last morning...Invariably my wife had a salad which was excellent, I had toasted sandwiches or burger.. the only "dubious" meal that I had was a chicken burger that didn't appear to have recognisable chicken, but was tasty anyway... beer ice cold , good attentive service and breakfast on our last day was excellent... would happily return

Ate here twice during our one week stay (it was our restaurant of choice for our last night meal!) - the first night we took our neice who is a rep in Kalamki this season (Hi Cat!) - brilliant service, great wine list, food - what can I say - FANTASTIC!! - worth the taxi ride, but easy walk, especially back into town   Second meal every bit as good as the first... belive all the great reviews, GO THERE!

Paolo - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

John M          5/10

Ate here once during our one week stay at the Kalamaki beach hotel, had to walk past Paolos to get into town and every evening he would cxall to us on the other side of the road.. we kept promising to go in and did so on our fourth night... I had already been on this site and noted mostly good comments... well it was a bit of a disappointment really... starters Houmus, squid were plentiful, but bland.. mains (Steak and Lamb kebab) were tough and luke warm...potatoes horrible, rice packed with far too much garlic, service a little slow, poor wine list, overall not good value compared with other places, sadly wouldn't return

Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Ate here one in a week's stay in Kalamaki... what a weird meal!! - opted for the Meze for two at 25 euros and the waiter seemed perplexed when we asked him for a wine list.. actually for the price you get a half litre of house wine (white, red or rose)... the meze was OK, a little bland, but adequite.. the house red wasn't up to much, but the owner (who appeared to be absolutely plastered) deposited another jug and didn't charge us for it... the three chaps from Bournemouth on the table next to us weren't so fortunate, after they had struggled to drink the (warm and not very pleasant) litre of white wine, they too were given a second that they didn't want and were charged for it...they agreed that the food wadsn't up to much, in essence, good company, strange management, poor wine...
