I heard that this hotel was excellent. Is this not true? Also what is this about a sewage thing? I am a bit conerned. Does anyone have any more info?
Someone I know has just returned from Zante and recommended this trip. He said that there is a suprise at the end that is brilliant. He won't tell me what it is. Does anyone know?
It doesn't say anything about that in my brochure. I would be interested to know if it the case and how it is organised. I am going next Thursday so I would appriciate some info.
Rimmer - I am coming over next Thursday so I guess I will just have to find out for myself. I'll be seeing you!
Have just come back from two weeks at the Alexander. We had a good two weeks and on the whole the hotel was very good. It is in an ideal location, close enough to the action but not too close. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and it is extremely clean. There are organised activities throughout the day and evening entertainment. There are two swimming pools and a baby pool and there are plenty of sunbeds so you don't need to get up early and leave your towel out! It is also only a short walk to the beach. You can hire pedalos from the hotel and it is worth doing this because otherwise they cost 4000drx for an hour. The only complaint we had about it was the food. It wasn't too bad it was just a bit repetative. It is very Greek and everything seemed to taste the same. Breakfast was the worst and we found ourselves going out most days. However, the snacks during the day are good. Generally a good hotel and I would recommend it.
Zakfari is definately the best way to see the island. We went on one of those cruises and it just doesn't compare. Zakfari does cost a little more but it is well worth it. Paul is very good and provides you with lots of interesting info and stories on route. The stops are good and you see things that you would otherwise miss out on.
We went on a boat trip that takes you around the island via the caves and the shipwreck. All I can say is don't do it! The trip takes the whole day and is boring. There isn't really much to look at and the stops you make are very short with just enough time to take a photo. When we went the sea was a bit rough and due to the breeeze it was really cold so if you do go take a jumper. Although the trip isn't expensive I wouldn't waste a day of your holiday going on it.
This was a nice clean beach. It was not overcrowded and ideal for soaking up the sun. It is also the best place to see the turtles. They are just there in the water and you can go right up and swim with them. Other than this Kalamaki is a very quite resort - not much going on. You need to go to Laganas if you want to see any action.
Not a bad night out. It is your typical hoiday nightclub nothing serious - a bit tacky really. It is always busy and the drinks aren't badly priced. We liked the top bar as it was cool and quiet up there. An ideal place to chill out.
Definately the best cocktails in Laganas.
This trip was ok and good value for money. Unfortunately when we went about 2 weeks ago it was a horrible rainy day. There was also a strike on the island so nothing was open, no shops, bars or restaurants. We were able to see the caves and monastrey though. I am sure we would have enjoyed it more had it not been for these two factors.
We went on an all inclusive holiday but weren't too impressed with the food so we came here instead. There is a good choice of food and it is reasonably priced. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Great place to eat out if you like Italian food. It is cheap and the there is a good choice. The staff are wonderful. You can see the chef at work and he comes over to make sure you are enjoying your meal. I recommend it.
We stayed at the Alexander last year and although it was a bit basic, we enjoyed it. The food it is ok. Not a huge selection and a bit repetative but it is bearable. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are friendly. We had a lovely time. Hope you do too.
