We arrived back from Zante one week ago after staying at the Elpida apartments for a fortnight. We had a double roomed apartment and although as stated by Kosmar the stairs were steep this is a minor problem considering the very good accomadation. We have a young baby and to stop him climbing the stairs a large suitcase perfectly fitted the bill as a tempoary stairgate. Haney the rep was superb and we noted that he was always asking all of his guests if he could help them in anyway. When he was requested to help he always ensured that any request was dealt with straight away. The pool is just about the right size although the adult pool does drop very steeply. The beach is around a 10-15 Min walk away and is great although a little dirty due unfortunately to the holidaymakers. Nightlife is avaliable to those who want it via the cocktail bars but if you want a quite relaxing holiday then this is the place to go.
We arrived back on the 19th may 2002 can only agree with the last entry beautiful beach our children loved it we also used the neraida restaurant every night. Downside to the beach is there is no shade and limited umbrella's available.
We went to Zante in early May 2002 and found this taverna on our second night, after which we became regular vistors(every night in fact). Nikos and his wife made us feel very welcome and were extremley generous, and all of the other staff always had a smile on their faces. The food was always excellent and very reasonably priced. The childrens meal was bigger enough for our 6 and 2 year olds to share. As there was five adults in our group we manged to try nearly every dish between us and were never disapointed with any of them. If you get the chance I would highly recommend a visit to this taverna. Try a kilo of the local wine and the special of the day. If you should read this Nikos thanks again for making our holiday special, the seahorse soap dispenser has pride of place in the bathroom and we look forward to seeing you and all the staff in 2003, we have already booked!
We stayed at the elpida in may with our two children (6 and 2) and there are loads of places that do childrens menus tne elpida has its own snack bar and the food is excellent pizza, fish fingers and sandwiches you can get sausages but they are mainly hot dog type. You do not have to pay for the sunbeds at the elpida but you pay for them on the beach about 2euros for the day.we had a great holiday and have already booked for next year.
we were at alikanas in may and am sorry to say no turtles and no pedalos.maybe it was because it was the start of the season and it was very quite the next beach along is called alykes and is about a 10 minute walk and was alot more busy so i think you would find pedalos there.Everyone was going on boat trips to see the turtles but i cannot recall where they went .
Hi Dennis lots of places to change travellers cheques in alykanas donot remember seeing a cash machine in alykanas but there is one in Alikes which is a much busy town about 20-25min walk away.
