We got back from Zakynthos on Sunday 9th June. As others have said it can be noisy, we had a ground floor room at the front (103) because my husband is on crutches with a broken leg, and it was pretty noisy at night with people going passed. There are signs everywhere asking for quiet after 11pm but people can be inconsiderate. We liked these apartments, yes they are basic but that is Greece for you. Staff were friendly. By the big pool is a bar that sells good luches at reasonable prices, Maria is a lovely girl very friendly. We have two children aged 12 and 9, they used the Kids Club a few times they liked Sticky Vicky and Looney Lindsey who ran the Club. The rep Kaz, we found quite helpful, she visits the appartments very regularly so it is quite easy to see her. Agios Sostis it's self we loved, it is a good family resort, just Tavernas, a few shops and one night club opened while we were there, although it was not doing very well because it is mainly families there. The airport is a nightmare, going home we were having to que outside in the midday sun, so make sure you have plenty of water and sun protection. Maestro's Taverna is brilliant you have 10% off if you are staying at Arkadianos. Wednesday is Greek night, music, dancing, by the end the waiters are joining in the dancing, but on these nights you have to wait forever for your food as they are very busy. We really enjoyed our stay, if anyone wants to contact me about the apartments or the resort feel free to email me at parrh12@tiscali.co.uk Annette.
My daughter and I went on this trip which we booked through our JMC rep. It is a lot of travelling, but it is worth it. I would rather not have bothered seeing the changing of the guard, we went to the original Olympic statium. Toured the city by bus and lastly visited the Acropolis, which we LOVED. Got picked up 7am Tuesday, got back about 7pm Wednesday. Actually in Athens from 4pm Tuesday and left Athens around 12 noon Wednesday. It cost about £100 for my 12 year old and I (she was priced as a child)
We loved Agios Sostis, it is a good family resort. The beach is ok, only a narrow strip of sand though. We stayed at Arkadianos. Bit noisy but very friendly. Maestro was brilliant really lovely staff, in fact all the Tavernas we visited had friendly staff. Agios Sostis may be a bit quiet for some, but Laganas is within walking distance and that is much livelier if that is what you want.
We loved the Maestro, really friendly staff. Greek night on wednesdays is a real laugh the waiters join in with the dancing but the food is a lot slower to arrive as a consequence so expect a LONG night.
