We just got back from Zante this afternoon, these apartments are really very clean for greece, they are very well placed being really close to the beach and with a few shops, bars and tavernas close by it is friendly and not too loud. In the accomodation Dimitri and his English wife are extremely friendly, I found the third floor accomodation plenty big enough for us all (we had enough room for 6) although being disabled it was a bit of a trek to the third floor! The bathroom facilities left little to be desired, how on earth you are supposed to shower in a two foot square with barely no hot water and no shower curtain is unbelievable and maid never cleaned our bathroom in the two weeks - only emptied the toilet bin!! The cooking facilities are non existant - two rings and a fridge, no implements no corkscrew or bottle opener, (Not that that bothered us we intended to eat out any way - we ARE on holiday!) Beach towels appeared on the sunbeds at anytime between 12.30 and 7.00 in the morning so if you wanted one you HAD to get up - and it was really frustrating! The daytime pool bar Tereza was cheap and maria is friendly. The kids club for the JMC kids was excellent run by Sticky Vicky and Looney Lindsay - (It is the first time our little girl has actaully wanted to go the club - so thanks girls!) The JMC rep Kaz was always around dealing with lost souls and had introduced an excellent idea of a recycle box, If you found yourself short of something eg: suncream, tea, coffee and buckets and spades etc look in there use them and before you depart you leave anything you do not want to cart back in the box, we left loads, football, lilos, bisciuts - well done Kaz. However we had a really nasty shock pne night when quering the bill after one of our meals in the maestro (attached restaraunt) we were told to F*** Off back to England!! NOT GOOD we never ate there again, avoid the paradise taverna round the back they charge 1.50 each to sit down! This applied to children only having a 1.50 meal and was appalling, Try the Manthos taverna up the road we ate there nearly every night, they are friendly and also run trips turtle spotting and to the island it is the best thing I done in a long time. The spiritaki restaraunt is good too. We had blazing hot weather the first week 125degrees and then thunder and lightening the second week and an earthquake measuring 5.2!! Not very nice on the third floor! At the time little things did annoy us (not being able to get a sunbed, having no loo roll, listening to German and Danish people below us chat all night, being charged 3 Euro for a fan, not really being able to get on the beach, it is fully fitted with sunbeds side by side and they charge 8 Euro for two - there is no room in between for you to simply put a towel down) but all in all we did have a nice time and would go back! A word of warning the airport is a real joke, but we had been warned about it - but you know us British we laugh - but it aint funny, firstly standing for hours in the sun outside to get in the building to check in and then standing in departure lounge for 2-3 hours for your plane! I am not moaning just leaving an honest opinion - email me if you want any further info.
We ate here nearly everynight, Dennis and his three sons are super friendly and also run trips to the island and turtle spotting worth doing, I agree the ouzo on the house is definately a WOW. Loved eating here - highly recommended Thanks
We ate here a few times it was really slow, over an hour for food to arrive, we had to question the bill one night was told to **** off!! Dimitri (owner of the maestro and apartments sorted it out eventually). We never ate there again. They are friendly until they turn so be warned!!!
This place we only found on the last two nights and was a shame as the food was the best we had on the island, really friendly, food was excellent and the retsina wine was super wow - nice.
Just got back from staying at the arkadainos apartments, nice a warm friendly atmosphere - thanks to all Dimitri and his 'Essex girl' wife (sorry never got your name), Maria the the pool bar, a nice time, a lovely resort, nicest on the island really, small friendly, charming, and close to nightlife ir you want that sort of thing! We just loved the views from the tavernas, and really friendly people, would go again.
Really, really hot and thats what we want coming from UK ain't it! Did not go much on the earthquake though!
Baking hot sand (wear your shoes), nice slow slopping beach, really safe, a bit of a 18-30 place though!
Really the best beach in Zante, mind you the slope onto the main beach is a bit of steep slope, once you get there it is really nice, very shallow water with small fish that nibble your feet. Loads of families with small children - lots of locals too (thats says a lot doe'snt it!!)
Nice beach, but at certain times the beach turns into a road!!!
