I was full of enthusiasm for this hotel this morning when i got my airtours brochure, still was till i got past the first few messages on here, then my bottle began to go about Airtours!
Is Airtours the only company that deal with the Alykanas Beach Village, does anyone know????Really looks like the place for me, hubby, mum and two kids. Also what is the beach like is it sand or shingle.....can't be doin with shingle!! All comments greatly appreciated.

Hi Raj, I'm thinking of going to alikanas in2004 with my hubby and kids. We have been to Laganas twice, there is great nightlife, mainly along the main street, and as for it not being very greek, you dont have to go far for that. Laganas is Lovely, You might prefer Kalamaki, the best of both worlds, just down the beach from Laganas, a lot quiter, but still in easy reach of the nightlife by taxi.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did, once you been to Zakynthos, you will want to go back, its a beautiful island.

soz! forgot to put my ratings, for Laganas tho, have only seen Alykanas from up in the hills, but it looked FAB!

We went to the Natalie in May 2001. LOVED it! Apartments were lovely and clean, altho the bath taps were a bit on the noisy side!!!The owners were lovely and friendly too. The little place next door, Georges place, was nice too, The gorgeous guy that works there (looks like Gianni DeMarco from Eastenders!!) was really helpful with info too, sent my husband in the direction of a gym run by spiros his friend and even offered to go with him to do some training!!!
There is a supermarket directly opposite, stocks everything. The beach is on the doorstep literally! If you walk along the beach to the main street, just before you turn into it, is a restaurant called Korrallis, GO! It is lovely, food is excellant, staff are wonderful, very attentive and friendly, but then everyone is on Zante. Pure HEAVEN!! We have been to Zante twice now, first time in 1997 at the Galaxy Hotel on Laganas Beach. We are booking again for 2004 but this time to Alikanas for a change. Laganas is lovely at the beginning of the season, May/June, but I have a feeling it gets Rowdy and dirty mid season, Alikanas is a quieter resort to wind down.

ABSOLUTELY FAB!!!!!! The staff, food and surroundings made our holiday even more special. Would recommend it to anyone. We ate there for most of our second week when we discovered it!!!!!!

Thanks everyone. We have been to laganas twice, we love the island and wanted to go back but just somewhere quieter and different for a change.
My friend has told me its in the Direct brochure for next year so i'm just waiting for the brochure to be sent out to me. Apparently its cheaper with them too and the flight times are better. So I'm really looking forward to booking.

well i havent been yet, but airtours horror stories put me off, However Direct are supposed to be good..and cheaper, altho, they are part of my travel too.
My stepdaughter is in laganas at the moment and rang me on Sunday to say this Hotel is GORGEOUS, the beach too, she went to check it out on a trip to Alykanas.

does anyone know if there are any rooms or apts there which sleep 5 people??
