The previous comment about the supermarket may be true but it does have an extensive range of goods. The comment does not reflect the true nature of this family run hotel. The rooms a typical greek accommodation, adequate, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The description in the Kosmar catalogue is very accurate and we had a very good time during the first two weeks of July. The pool is never crowded and the beach is only 3 minutes walk away. Restaurants are also nearby and if you fell lazy you can use the free horse darwn transport near the hotel to most tavernas.

I cannot commet about the food or the price because after ordering drinks, which were delivered with the usual bread, nobody supplied a menu. After ten minutes I asked for a menu and although we waited five more minutes the menu it did not arrive. WE then decided to go somewhere else. I can recommend the bread and wine as it is very cheap.

With so many to choose from, it is a recommendation that we returned to the Mantelana. The food is good a reasonably priced with a pleasant atmosphere that you do not fell rushed in. The ouzo aperatif might have helped.

A little bit further away from the usual tavernas but the food is great and extremely reasonably priced.

The food was excellent and the service good but I have to agree with the previous comment about the service charge. It was exhorbitant and after I queried it, it was struck off the bill. This also happened to other people in our hotel although it was probably happening at other tavernas as well.

The setting is great because you are away from the hustle and bustle. The food is on par with anything in Alykanas but I agree that on our second visit I was surprised at the size of the bill. Two starters, two main course, two Irish coffees and a half kilo of house wine, 41 euros. On checking it was probably correct.

This was our first time in Alykanas and did we enjoy it. The beach is great, one 50 year old non swimmer even felt confident enough to go into the sea for nearly 200 yards. The selection of restaurants is great and the night life is good without being too hectic.

Can not comment on the weather as we did not see a cloud for two weeks and everbody keeps asking where I went on my holidays, mind my panda eyes give it away.
