Alykanas Resort - (Resorts in Zante)
We have just returned from Alykanas and had two wonderful weeks. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday with our two children. The weather was wonderful as were the people and we would definately consider going back (if they could sort the airport out). The place had a real charm about it and we all absolutely give it the thumbs up!!

Zante town is very pretty at night. We decided to go late as it would be cooler. Unfotunately we booked for the shopping evening and spring tours declined to tell us that shops close early on Wednesdays. We did manage to find some nice shops in the square but overall it was a little disappointing. If you want shopping dont go on Saturday afternoons or Wednesday evenings but worth a visit
Iguana Bar - (Bars in Alykanas)
Very friendly staff who speak very good English (probably because they are English!! Nice atmosphere and great venue for sitting back on a hot afternoon, with an Amstel and watching the sport. Bravo
Mantelena Restaurant - (Restaurants in Alykanas)
Very friendly and efficient staff. Good choice of food in a very pretty setting. Nice kebabs to take away at a very good price.
The Great Dane - (Restaurants in Argassi)
We did not know it before it moved and we thought it was great. The food was exceptional value for money and the staff were really friendly. Try the fish and chips but be warned the portion sizes can put you off before you start unless you have a stomach the size of an elephant. The childrens portions were very big and the omelettes were delicious.
Relax Restaurant - (Restaurants in Alykes)
We eat there once and had a nice meal. It was not the fanciest of restaurants but it was good value for money and the staff could not do enough for you.
La Caretta - (Restaurants in Alykanas)
We eat here a couple of times and we were always treated very well by the staff especially Yanis. They adore the children and cope very well in an unexpected downpour of extreme proportions. They love the children and the food was good.
June - (Best Time to Visit)
What can I say but the weather was HOT, HOT, HOT. Not complaining just didn,t expect it. Appartently this was an exceptionally hot June. The kids coped well with the heat so no complaints. There were beautiful colours from the plants and it was not too busy so I think it is a good time to visit as you have such long hot days and long hot evenings. Beautiful island. Beautiful people. Horrible airport
