We arrived in the area about 9.30 at night - dropped our bags and went for a drink - we tried a couple of other bars but loved Roscos - we went there every night during our holiday (24 June - 8 July) - we loved the atmosphere, the people, the laid back attitude and everything about it - we miss you guys - love to Spyros,Takhes, Fortis and Diane - will be back in September (hopefully less than 50 degrees centigrade next time)
Well I probably can't say anything different to anyone else but it was a really great day out - Malcolm was very informative and funny, great stories and genuinely knew Zante - didn't just go on what he had been told. Lee (Pork Pie) and Spyros were great too. The shipwreck view is breathtaking and even better than postcards. (My pictures aren't unfortunately as I had the camera on the wrong setting - so I will just have to do the trip again when I go back in September). If you don't do any other trip in Zante make sure you do this one.
I think we just struck really unlucky - because of the rave reviews we went there the first night of our holiday and had a dreadful inedible meal - we were told it was the biggest steak on the island - what we had was like a flattened grisly fatty minute steak which neither of us ate - fell out with the lady owner as she charged us 4.5 euros for bread (for 2 people) that we didn't eat - definitely wouldn't go back again.
For the second week of our holiday we went to the Troc every night and absolutely loved it - we had tried other places and were not very impressed but at the Troc the people are fantastic, really helpful and everything is freshly cooked - we tried nearly everything = to name but a few the cheesy garlic bread, prawn cocktails, liver and bacon, pork chop (identity problem with this it poses as a whole pig!), shepherds pie, steaks and the knickerbocker glory are all absolutely brilliant. Great food, great service, great prices and we will be going there again every night when we go back in September. Thanks John and crew from Les and Geoff (John - remember I was the lunatic trying to find out what was happening at Wimbledon all the time)
