Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Sophie L

Kalamaki is a really peaceful place, with great top quality restaurants. The sites and views are great! you can take some great photos. Just got back today, and were missing it already!

Kalamaki has just enough to have a good time without being too buisy. The locals are really friendly and happy to help.

Angels Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Sophie L  (11 August 2003)

A great place for families, they have fun but make sure they don't go too far with kids around. When we visited we saw karoake (you get free shots non- alcholic ones for the children) and one night some of the blocks (jus' out for a drink) got dressed up in drag.

The Dj is great, and the location is superb, well worth a visit.

Cave Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

We really liked the cave bar, it was so scenic and the jeep ride up was loadsa fun! Up there you can watched the sun set (we watched it at about 8.30) on the turrent overlooking Kalamaki and turtle island. It is also fun to have a drink in the cave on the little wooden stools.

We also saw a shooting star, and loads of constilations. It is really pretty up there.
Anyway, its a nice peaceful place to go.

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

The food was nice and the service was great, but on our last night (yesterday) I ordered some pork and we found it uncooked in the middle, so it kinda put us off this place, and we didn't even get an apology. But the previous visit we really enjoyed it, I suppose mistakes can happen.

My brother and Sister loved the lollies they got when we paid the bill. The price of the food was really reasonable compared to some places and the setting was very pretty.

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L  (11 August 2003)

We thought Mermaids was really nice. The service was great and the food was delicious.
The plates would be overflowing with food and they were big plates. The chicken there is lovely, and my brothers and sister loved it.Great value for money and we got a discount at Angels. The service was quick and the menu was vast.

Sugar Reef - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L  (11 August 2003)

My little bros favourite restaurant, the food was quick, cheap and nice. We went here twice and really enjoyed it. We especially like the free melon which we got with the meal.

Tesoro - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L  (11 August 2003)

Our favourite eating place, they definately have the best garlic bread out of all the restaurants we went to,
They sometimes have live traditional music to entertain you when you eat and the food is really nice. The atmosphere is great. What more can I say than you should eat here!

Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

The food may have been nice, but it was a real rip off! the setting was great with good music, it was really atmospheric but the service was really slow and the bill was really expensive. We spent more here on a basic main course and drinks than we did at any of the other restaurants where we'd bought a lot more.
Try next door, Tesoro's, it is cheaper, just as nice food and a better atmosphere.

Escape - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

We went here because it was close to our hotel. The setting was pretty, but the food wasn't nearly as good as other places we have been.
The service was quite good, they seemed reasonably friendly and we had a good seat.

Dias - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

It wasn't the best place we have been. The service was really slow, it took ages for them to ask us what drinks we wanted then for what food we wanted to order.
The setting would be pretty but we were dumped inside. Though the food was nice but nothing memberable.

Castello - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Sophie L  (11 August 2003)

It was really nice. The food was great, price brilliant and the service was really great. You can even see them making the pizzas fresh, and the staff are always happy to help. The only thing that we didn't like was that we weren't on the roof, but inside at the end of what seemed like a corridor, just because we were a fair sized party (six) though I think it is worth a visit.

Venus Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Sophie L

The best hotel ever. The rooms are really clean, the pool is a fair size and it is not far from the beach or the main street. The staff make this hotel such a great place to visit.
They are always happy to help, especially the cleaners and reseption. The only disapointment was the breakfast because it was very basic, bread, toast, cereal, jams, egg, cake, biscuits, ham and cheese, but it is enough.
A great hotel would like to go back again soon.

St Nicholas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Sophie L

Well worth a visit, even if you don't want to do the water sports. We went diving and it was amazing! the guys there really look after you so theres nothing to worry about. It is such an experience to go diving and seeing all those fish!

Thomson now TUI - (Tour Operators in Zante)

Sophie L

The comment before said it all. Only came back from Venus today, and Kevin has gotta be the best rep ever! he really looks out for everyone and is a good laugh.
You should go to the Saturday night live, at first I was sceptical but after I went I saw how great it was. It was such a laugh, everyone had a great time and could join in. Also Kevin was great as Tina Turner.
The turtle cruise did have pretty naff food, but we still had a great time, cause the rep Alexander was really knowledgeable and we got to feed the fish and swim into some caves. Also, some of these other 'turtle cruises' aren't right, cause one turtle which we could have seen ( I never saw it) came to the surface and the other boats surrounded it so the tourists could have a look. It wasn't fair on the turtle.
On the turtle cruise we also got to listen to some people working to conserve the turtle and learn abit more about them. Overall we still had a great time.
