Im looking at going to Alykes in September through to October. I went on to the bank section and found nothing on there, apart from the main towns. Are there any places you can draw money out from service tills ie supermarkets or retaurants/bars? Or is it a case of trav/cheques,cash and credit cards. When in Rome they say, but any good bars showing premiership football?
sophie ford so you didnt get sex all week you should have tried the pig in the field next to the panos or the chickens what ever your fancy
my wife nearly hit the roof when she saw this car i had hired but with a bit of my sales technique ie the bloke down the road offered it at this price ply i got it for 100 euros for the week not bad in late september.
we went from the last week in september and the first week in october
the second week we had one overcast day and one thunderstorm i would not have had a holiday past these days unless you want to take a chance however i looked at the weather reports recently and its still 25-29c not bad
it speaks for its self three reports in just over a year i am sure its ok if you are half gone or a complete a.... like sophie (see her Maria hotel update)but it looked a bit lost in the 1970s,i never saw anyone in there in the two weeks i was there and all the hotels nearby were fully booked.
this was a nice bar served carling/fosters and the kids played across the road on the pool tables it was always busy the owners were great
the best 2 adults/2 children three courses each (not the cheapest)
two rounds of drinks coke/beer 42 euros and you felt you had eaten
ate there three times had already read up on it on the internet before we went big portions and a great start/end to a night staff fantastic 35 euros 1 adult/2 children two courses two round of drinks
tried to get around as many bars as we could in two weeks only went here once but very enjoyable
we used to leave the kids fishing on the jetty and creep off for a quick lunch and drink but they did join us later. the bar is right on the beach with views across the sea very pleasent setting reasonable prices we had a few chats with alan here the staff were great dont take any notice of the previous comments. when you go on holiday your supposed to leave your problems behind not bring them with you correct?
sf is at it again with her comments stay at home next time dear you must have gone on your own i cant see any bloke putting up with unless hes a twin. This beach was the best on the stretch just by the astoria.Great for snorkeling just around the jetty. Sea was warm
and the beach was clean this is ideal for kids. there is a little shop in the town (alikes) the last but one on the left on the way to alakayas that sells fishing rods for 8 euros includes a reel small hooks 0.30e use bread/ham it will keep the kids amused all day well worth it even i caught 10 fish. If oyu need any advice on the island speak to alan/debbie the golden dolphin trips to the caves/shipwreck they were also fantastic with the kids
just a quick note to the people we met in october last year staying at the panos studios. we were due to pick up lucy in two weeks time but the trainer/boarder forgot to take a blood sample.we now have to wait until october 2004.
to the bloke below i found when i stayed in the panos i had to use a pan on the stove with bottled water.my stomach can take anything but the salt water will kill you after two cups.you can buy anything in the shops close by. i might have my dates wrong but if euro 2004 is on youll have a great time there are some great bars that show football. if thats your thing i watched a couple of a**enal for my sins.enjoy
Sorry I just realised its a woman below!
