We visited Zante in September 2003 and we had an absolutely fantastic time, although we did not stay at the Cronulla we spent most of our time there, the hotel was fantastic. Jimmy and Tommy and the gang were friendly and we spent quite a few nights with them getting drunk on beer and whisky.
Although we didnt stay at the hotel we were able to use its facilities free of charge. The pool and the surrounding areas were really clean. We could not fault anything about this hotel. We are visiting Zante next year and we will definately be staying at the Cronulla and we have no hesitation in recommending it to other.

We had breakfast/lunch here quite a lot as the food was good and easy and very cheap. We usually ate the english brekkie or toasties. Definately reccomend it for a light snack.
We ate here at least 10 evenings of the 14 we were in Zante, brilliant food, brilliant price, brilliant staff, brilliant wine
Breakfast was also fantastic although we only had it here once (the last day :-( unfortunately), had we discovered the brekkie before then we would have definately visited for breakfast more often.
We had a really nice meal at the restaurant and would recommend it, although we only visited once this was due to the fact we found it a little out of the way. The roads to the restaurant are not very well lit so I wouldnt go on my own!!
We hired a suzuki jeep from Merlis, brilliant value for money. The jeep was dropped of outside our hotel and they picked it up once we had finished. We made contact with Merlis prior to travelling so we had an idea of the prices.
I would suggest you do some digging around and dont go with the car hire available with your tour operators as it could cost you twice as much as it would have done had we booked it with the tour operators.
You can also hire bikes but after seeing how people drive I wouldnt recommend this, one of the girls on holiday with us hired a moped on the first day and came of so she was in bandages and laying by the pool for the remainder of the holidays!!
We stayed at the 2 Brothers in September last year and after reading some of the reviews we were quite worried. When we got their we were quite shocked at the rooms but then this is typical of Greece.
They did have a fan for rent but we didnt bother with it and felt we didnt need it as long as we kept the metal blinds closed all day so the sun could not shine through. I would also recommend the mosquito oil burner, only cheap but well worth it, I only got bitten twice in two weeks. The maids came round every other day and tidied up (even did our washing up).
We heard no noise from the airport, it did become noisy on the occassions we were in the hotel before 12 from the bars but it didnt go on all night.
The shower curtain was only 3/4 of the way to floor and the bathroom and room became drenched with water and quite slippy, so be careful but that probably goes for most apartments in Greece.
The swimming pool became "poorly" whilst we were there but to be honest we hardly used the hotel facilities.
Two Brothers is about a 5/10 minute walk from one of the main streets, be sure to check out the Cronulla (brilliant atmosphere), Mermaids (brilliant food), Appollon (brilliant cocktails), Smile Tours (brilliant service for days out etc).
Enjoyable holiday!!
Excel Airways were fantastic, really made you feel welcome and getting you geared up for the holiday. Would fly with them again.
We didnt find our holiday rep at the two brothers very helpful and the excursions and car hire etc was extremely expensive, it certainly pays to have a walk around before committing yourself to the tour rep.
We were originally going to sign up for this as we thought it was a cheap why to go on a bar crawl but then we found out you had to get yourself there and back. We decided not to go on this, we felt it would have been a waste of money.
Absolutely fantastic!!! All the cocktails we tried were amazing, definately visit again.
Also, toilets were the best we saw in Zante!!
We found this on the day it poured down with rain, food was good, internet access was also reasonably priced.
I thought Zantre town was brilliant although it is closed on a Sunday so be warned!! I found the shopping reasonably priced and we came home with the odd bits and pieces for the home and some jewellery. It is worth mentioning to query the price with some of the jewellers as they will sometimes drop the price in order to get a sale.
They also sell the best espresso coffee, you only seem to be able to get Nes Cafe in all the other resorts.
