Just arrived back home from Kalamaki and thought I would let you know that this year there is a new cash machine next to the BEST little shop in town! LINDOS Supermarket, just up from Hermes car rentals, on the main strip. A big plus is - if you are hot and bothered you can cool down in the air con glass cash point. If you go in to the shop say hi to Vula & Stavros and Zena - this Greek island's only husky dog
We have just returned from Kalamaki - our third visit in 12 months!! It has everything, the nightlife is there if you want it, or you can go to Laganas - not for the fainthearted! The restaurants are superb - would recommend Mermaids, Parthenon, Merlis and Michaelos. They are all fantastic, offering excellent Greek food at very reasonable prices. I reckon you'd be hard put to spend more than 30 Euros per couple. For shopping (eg self-catering, food etc) try Limnos supermarket near Hermes car rental. We hired a scooter and visited Tsilivi which, in my opinion has the best beach. It only takes around 15-20mins and it's well worth it. All the bars are great - specially Rose and Crown, Conulla Hotel bar (fantastic family run hotel with pool facilites free to all)and Down Under. You can walk from one end of the resort to the other in about 1/2 hour with many bars and tavernas along the way! All in all a fantastic resort suitable for couples, families or singles!
Trevor do you always moan if so don't go on holliday, try and rent a car in the UK then you will find out what cost is.
I always rent off Yanis he is very honest as are all the Greek people we have meet over the last 3 years.
