After listening to our tour rep and getting their discounted price, we popped along to Hermes. Saved about 50euros on a 3 day hire.

Hired from Hermes for the first time this year (we used another rental company last year, but they had no availabilty this time) and the service was excellent. Enjoyed three days pottering round the island (long enough to see most of the "important" sites!!!) and the price was fair and the car in good condition. We would use this company again

Whatever you do don't use the reps car hire place. They are over priced in the extreme. Also don't listen to the lies they tell you about insurance, the two places that we use have FDW (Full Damage Waiver) insurance. This means what it says, if you crash the car or damage it in any way your covered, the rep will try and tell you your not. Watch out for the excess though, 300 euro at the time of writing. The car hire places you can use with no problems are Hermes and Merlis. Hermes is about halfway up the main Kalamaki strip, next to Apollon and Merlis is right up the top and then down to the right. Both are fine and the prices about the same.

We chose Hermes this time round as they rent out the 206cc and I don't think that any other rental does. A full convertible is brilliant, but of course unlike the Suzuki jeeps you can't go off road but this wasn't a real problem.

The roads are ok in Zante and most driving behaviour is as you would expect, you'll get the odd biker or scooter whizzing past you but nothing too intimidating. If you not used to driving on the right then stay clear of Zante town until your used to it, as its busy and the roads are narrow.

3 days is a long enough hire time to see most attractions on the island. The attractions we have been to are as follows.

We have stayed in Kalamaki for two years in a row and have used Hermes Car Rental both times. Very helpful and friendly staff and the cars are always thoroughly cleaned before you receive them. Would not hesitate to use this company again, the fact that we returned again speaks for itself.

When we are in Kalamaki which is now twice a year we always come  here very good rates and always helpful and friendly  thanks again back in sept for another car

For a bike its roughly 12 euro a day but you might struggle to find someone who will rent to teenagers!!!

Hired from this guy 6 times over the last 5 years and never been let down. Charged me 50 euro for this Suzuki Jimny for the day      

anyone needing a car moped or jeep this is the place to go we hired 2 jeeps and got a good deal even got to haggle  only 200 euro for 3 days for the 2 this was the cheapest in kalamaki we visited all the hire shops next best wes 240 euro we saved 40 euro so we did a pub crawl after droping them off thanks again - roger-

I hired a Kia Sportage 4WD drop top for 10 days
Brilliant service Yannis cleaned and checked the car while i was there and also supplied a child seat for free, I then hired a Moped for a day 15 Euros what a bagain the best way to see the island.

We have used Hermes for five years now. I always haggle and we have never had a bad deal of Yannis. He remembers us each year and he has even sent us a card at christmas. I would reommend him as he has never hired us a bad jeep and is always very helpful.

Yiannis has always done me a superb deal and is a really helpful guy, totally agree with the lass below, I use Hermes every time.
Cars are very clean and loads of choice!

I think you are missing the whole point of this website. Is it for people to put their experiences and opinions on to help others. I stated that the price had changed.....it had. I stated that they said the vehicle was new....the mileage did not indicate this so they were lying....simple.

Take your rose coloured spectacles off and let others post valid comments without being put down by idiots like yourself.

Trevor do you always moan if so don't go on holliday,try and rent a car in the UK then you will find out what cost is.
I always rent off Yanis he is very honest as are all the Greek people we have meet over the last 3 years.
