Hi. I am going to Mon Repos on July 10th and we are worried about the heat. Does anyone know if the appartments have air conditioning or just how hot it is? Thanks :-)
Went in twice to the same S-club 7 song.I thought the place was a dive and wouldnt recommend it at all.
Just got back from staying here.If you are talking about Spiros, the guy behind the bar, yeah he was very arrogant but i did find that almost all the staff were helpful if we had any problems and did their best for us.We did have one problem with the appartment and we had to keep at them to get it sorted, which eventually worked. Some of the appartments are a fair walk from the pool and the nearest shop but nothing terrible. Torch recommended for walking back at night. Generally impressed with mon repo as the location was excellent. It was very near the resort centre but not at all noisy at night. I recommend that people go to the barbecue night at mon repo - its a laugh and the atmosphere is great
Staff were excellent and seemed really nice. The cocktails were cheap and nice. Highly recommend you try one of their "fishbowls" - 15 cocktails in one glass!
I was told it was good, but we went to find absolutely no-one there, and other people said the same. However, apparently it gets good about 6am, but dont take my word for it!
Be prepared for some serious heat! It was about 45 degrees every day. Its nice because the sea and pools are so warm, but you really have to use a lot of sun cream, especially on boat trips. We found it best to do things like shopping at night (the shops stay open late) and make sure you can cool down in the day. The heat isnt unbearable at all, and makes it really nice for swimming. We went in the sea at 1am and it was still warm! (watch out for dodgy greek blokes when doing this!)
This doctor was hilarious and provided a great source of laughter for us all! We found him in a room above a shop, wearing a pair of shorts and medallion, watching the TV and smoking a cigarette. However, he was helpful and kind, and seemed very keen on giving us low prices for the crutches we borrowed. I would say definatley get proper medical insurance, because it can be expensive. I advise a visit to this guy, even if there's no problem!
sarah, if you get this go to rescue's and zeros for clubs. Bad boys chill out bar is really nice but we found the club too small. Millagro's bar is good and does great cocktails. Cherry Bay was crap, unless you like cheesy music and a smelly club full of club 18-30's tw*ts (sorry, but its true!)
Laganas beach is nice as the sea is really clear but you find this anywhere on the island. The sand wasnt too good. I suggest going to Kalamaki which isnt far away. The best beach we went to was Alykes. It was gorgeous and there are good watersports available. We went parascending and saw a turtle from the air. Apparently there arent many turtles in Alykes so we were lucky. If ouy go on a boat trip around the island you see the best beaches, especially Smugglers cove and the sea here is amazing.
The best bit of this place is the bar upstairs - really nice for chilling. The club plays good music but is way too small.
Rescue is the best club we went to. The music is good although they sometimes play the same mixes on different nights. Its free like most of the Laganas clubs but be prepared to pay quite a lot for drinks.
