A few words to sum this bar up are:Rude, underage, a proper dive but does play good music shame about the member of staff who drives the little red mini!
I am a 19 year old girl and after 12 o'clock went for a dance once doors were closed on the first day of my holiday, i felt old in there. the average age of young girls in there was prob oly 15 and roughly same for boys i would say do NOT let your early teens go there by thereself unless they want to be leeched on by everyone.
Also if you do not like place dont tell bar staff as they are rude and clearly only care about making money and not about the safety or enjoyment of there customers
Would NOT recommend to anyone at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also toilets were the worst i saw when i was away and looked at 11 O'clock at night that they had not been cleaned for at least 48hrs!
Loved this place, infact so much so it was the only place we ate twice in two weeks.
The Food (i had garlic steak) was really nice
The waiters were polite and appreciated us trying to learn greek and were willing to help when we wanted a group photo taken (saw them help other people as well)
as for the man outside he didnt bug us and found that when people were walking passed he was chatting to them and didnt bug them as much as some other people did outside other places!
I'd go back there
Obviously to enjoy this bar you have to have a very low IQ and not be able to spell!!!(look at last few comments).Does have some good live music but not worth the underage children pretending to be grown up,the dirty toilets, and the rude barman who drives a red mini(very fast, he thinks the road is a race track!).So advise to Kained and Able and XFactor find yourselves some different gigs!! If you are in Kalamaki with teenagers and think they will be safe here on their own then think again.
Superb!!! Great family run hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, superb pool, what more can i say except i will be back next year.
visited this place a few times during our holiday and found it to be agreat night out. karaoketill whatevertime you want. although one karaoke host better than the other!! but you were encouraged toenjoy yourself whatever your age and didnot feel uncomfortable at all. Suggest everyone gives this place a try.
At last some people who agree with me and the other lady Jean.but everyone has the right to make thier own decisions and they all have the right to display them on this forum.
how strange!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday when looking on this forum about Down Under some people had stated that they were not impressed by this bar. I agree with them (as previous comments show) so I put my comment on stating that 'At last someone who agrees with me'. However today thier comments have dissappeared!!Do the staff at Down Under take all bad remarks off? Or are you not allowed to give honest opinions and have to say that every place is worth a visit. Is somebody on web site working on commission??!!!!!
george, do you work at the down under bar? if you stopped the underage(i have nothing against 17/18 year olds using your bar has i understand it does appeal to them,) but what i found disturbing was the 12/13 year olds drinking and flaunting themselves in the down under bar, that is what put me off visiting it again. (i have been to Kalamki for 3 years running and spent many a happy night in the down under bar ). So maybe this year was a 1 off.it does have the best music (both before and after 12) but had too many youngsters (12/13).May i just say i found your comments very uncalled for.
we love Dennys inn. Best holidays we have ever had.
Yiannis you did not answer my question.
Hi everyone. Looking forward to our holiday. Hope everyone is OK.Have e-mailed a few people but not had any replies (apart from Richard and Jill who live 2 mins away). Only 8 weeks and counting, Jeannie and I practising the karaoke for our usual night outs...... May bring ear plugs for everyone this year!!! Hopefully the weather will be hot, the Mythos will flow and we will all get together again... Perfect Holiday.
I AM SO EXCITED NOW. CANNOT WAIT. YIANNIS IS TOLIS OUT THERE THE SAME TIME??
Steve...Jeannie and I are there 15-29th July so we will see you for 2 days (wish it was longer though).
getting close now. Bought the marmite today to take with me!!! Mr Mayor, I know you are partial to a bit of marmite,so I have brought a big one for us all to share.
i have visited this bar since it opened as i come to kalamaki every year for my holiday. the venue is the best place to go to. it has a nice family atmosphere, and lovely staff. the girl on the front this year, was not in anyones face but just asked nicely if people would like to come in, i never saw her harrass anyone!! once in people are hooked. as for the comment below saying it was not for them as they were too old.... can i just say that my sister and i are on the wrong side of 45 but we enjoyed it every time we went in because we were made welcome despite our age, where as in some places unless you are young you are made to feel awkward. always a welcome from tony, donna and co. and not forgetting seamus (the fat g*y cowboy!!!). love to all at the venue, and thanks for contributing to our great holiday. see you all next year.
Went into this bar this year, as I had read some good comments about it. I had stoppped visiting this bar for the last couple of years as it had lost its appeal. I was not dissappointed this year as Leigh and Paula are indeed lovely. I reccomend you visit this bar during your stay in Kalamaki. I will definately be visiting this bar again next year when I return. Love to Leigh Paula and Co. and Thanks for contributing to our great holiday..
I KNEW YOU WOULD GET 10/10 SOON. WELL DESERVED, AND ABOUT TIME.
Have now booked our holiday to Dennys Inn. However could not get out usual Sunday flights..so are not coming out till early hours of 18th July for our usual 2 weeks of Karaoke and cocktails. We hope we see all our friends there at some time during our stay. Cannot wait...only 27 weeks to go.
can anyone tell me where ths hotel is please....Is it near the Bitzarro, Roseland, and Dennys Inn.?
Hi Donna, Jeannie and I are coming out in July for our normal 2 weeks of karaoke and cocktail and we cannot wait. We have another sister coming with us this year and her husband, I have told them what a great night they will have at The Venue. I have been reading the messageboards...Is Seamus not there this year??? Do you have a new karaoke host?? Hope all the family are well, and see you in July. Rosie x x
have beenr eading good comments about this place on the message board, so will give it a try...But where is it exactly??
Hiya Me and my sister are coming out in July for our 2 weeks of karaoke and cocktails. Looking forward to going into the Rose and Crown. Hope you remember us Leigh and Paula, we were the slightly maturer ladies who liked the karaoke and who gave the young ones a run for their money.!!!!.. Great bar, great atmosphere, great hosts. See you soon.
Actually Jeannie we arrive early on Friday 18th July. Then we can have breakfast with Pete and Ellie ( I will try and remember the marmite this year pete!!), unpack, and then jump in the pool. After getting over our jetlag, we can venture up to the main strip. I think I would like to eat in the pasta place on my 1st night, and seeing as Paris has now closed there will be no drunk chicken....only drunk sisters!!!!!! 5 weeks 3 days to go.......
Mike, We can definately recommend the cocktails in Zante...Usually when drunk they lead to jet lag the next day!!!!
However we do have a silly o'clock flight as well.
Sarah, when in July are you going and how many are in your group.
Hiya Mr Mayor, we are so looking forward to seeing you and Ellie. Jill and Richard are coming out on the 22nd. We saw them a coule of months ago (as they only live 2 mins away!). Our Sister Sandra and her husband are coming out as well on the 20th but they are staying at Pelouzo. We will arrive quietly but meet for breakfast (Mmmm...marmite!!). See you soon Rosie
Coming back for another week in October with boyfriend Can't wait.
Me and Jeannie already booked for next year. July 16th for 2 weeks
we had read all the good things on this site about Hevens kitchen, so went the 1st night of our holiday, however when we got there it was heaving, so we went elsewhere.Promising ourselves we would go there as it was obviously good......When we did go maybe it was an off night as they messed up our order, after we had waited 1/2 hr to have our order taken, the food arrived cold, and pretty tasteless. I am going back to Kalamaki in October and may try again to see if it was just an off night when I went before.
am flying out on 7th October but only for 1 week. had to work around the football fixtures...probably just like you did... Thank you for my birthday card. Shame we are gonna miss you, I am sure Trace and John would of had plenty of football to talk about!!
went back to work after the bank holiday...looking forward to my holiday in 10weeks 2 days time (whose counting!). Jeannie we actually arrive for breakfast on the Friday morning as we are on the silly o clock flight Thursday night from Gatwick with all the club 18-30 crowd...Still I am sure we can give them a run for their money as we are founder members of the club 47-60 holidays (bet we will be the only ones drinking champagne on the flight!!.
I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED 4 weeks and counting.....................
There are 2 as far as I am aware. Both on the main strip.

Hope I have not missed anyone out. Finally a big Thankyou to all the staff at Dennys Inn who work so hard so we can have these fantastic holidays. What a brill time we all had. Roll on next year.
yes it is. However I can not remember how much it is, as we pay for air con and safe at same time.
Just been on the message board for Kalamaki and there is a poll going on about which restaurant us holiday makers would visit if we could only go to 1 . Michaelos in the lead...
5 weeks tomorrow and me & Jeannie flying out. So excited. This is year 11 to Dennys, and we look forward to it every year.
Looking forward to seeing everyone mentioned below. Getting soooooooo excited!!!!!!.
