This restaurant was wonderful. The service excellent and the food delicious. we ate here four times and was not disapointed once. Staff were friendly and courteous but not intrusive. I celebrated my birthday here and the staff made it very special including the delicious dessert that the owner brought to the table resplendent with sparklers as a complimentary birthday treat. Cant fault this place at all. One of the best in Kalamaki.
Sorry. As an addition to the previous comment, over four visits we tried Baked aubergine starters, seafood lasagne, roast lamb, fillet of beef stuffed with spinach and feta, my husband ate pasta until it came out of his ears, our son ate pizza and said it was one of the nicest he had in Kalamaki. So much choice and all wonderful.
We breakfasted here every day whilst on holiday 12th-26th August 2004. The young lady who served us with a smile and the gentleman behind the bar were always very polite and gave time to chat to us. Food great prices cheap. If they visit the web site, hello from the family from Plymouth who demanded to watch the Olympics every day. Hope it is lovely out there. Im trying to send you some rain!!!
Another excellent place to eat. Staff friendly. We remembered the head waiter from previous years. Food delicious, setting lovely and service great. Recommend this to anyone visiting Kalamaki. One of four great places to eat.
This was our fifth visit to Kalamaki. We always eat in Paris as the setting is glorious, staff friendly and courteous and food wonderful. We have never had a bad meal and the staff remembered us from previous years. The resteraunt is immaculate and prices very cheap. Try the drunken chicken and yoghurt with honey. I am living on this now I am home!!!
Visited this place on many nights over the last five years. Didnt go in much last year beause of the loud music from next door!! However this year we went back in and they remembered us. Nice food, excellent service, always make you feel welcome though the prices are quite expensive compared to other places. Nice to see yannis 3 back in the fold. The tourists love this chap. Always smiling and talking to the children. Even our next door neighbour had met him when they were on holiday. So he is famous in devon now.
Try the spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce. Worth going to Kalamaki for.
The view is what encouraged us to eat here. It was the only good thing about it. Terrible service very slow. Never got exactly what you asked for. Worst Frappe I have ever had and the food was awful. Would never go here again. Not recommended at all.
We stayed here from 12th-26th August. This was our fifth visit to Kalamaki so we are old hands at this. The Marelen is in a lovely location and a beautiful setting. The staff helpful if a little surly. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and a credit to the owner. However, we stayed in room 230 and this was an extremely small room. It was supposed to be self catering, we did have a hob, kettle, fridge and a few items of crockery. We did not attempt to cook at all and even if we had there was nowhere to sit apart from on your bed or on the balcony. You could not bring in balcony furniture as the room was so small there would have been no room for you. The bathroom was tiny, but had a bath. A wet room would have been roomier. If any one was on the toilet you hit their legs if you opened the door.
The room did have air conditioning at a cost of 30 euros per week which I will point out is cheap. We paid 70euros per week last year at another complex. Dont phone home from the room. This is a rip off. We paid 27 euros for 11 minutes. If we had used the phone box we would have got 10mins for 10 euros. The hotel blamed the phone company!!
We did not use the pool at the hotel as it was quite small for all the people staying. We would drift over to the Louros Beach which was beautiful and often empty. Neither did we join in activities as kareoke is not really our thing.
We were lucky to be here at Olympic time and watched a lot of this in many bars. Water park fantastic, mountains spectacular, beaches at Alakanas terrific. Will go back to Kalamaki next year but not with Airtours. Rather ripped off with them. If you paid to have a meal you need not have bothered as Mytravel gave everyone a meal regardless of payment. If you prebooked seats this too was a waste of money as at the airport they jsut plonked on the first seat numbers they came too. The bus back to the airport was awful. No air con and very decrepid. I dehydrated in the 15 minutes we were on it and felt ill for hours after.
Still Zante is the most wonderful place and we love it. So all the minor niggles pale into insignificance when you add up all the beautiful things about this island. Sign the petition to save the turtles. This is so important. Dont let the brits be responsible for contributing towards their extinction.
We have used Hermes for five years now. I always haggle and we have never had a bad deal of Yannis. He remembers us each year and he has even sent us a card at christmas. I would reommend him as he has never hired us a bad jeep and is always very helpful.
Where has Yiannis 3 gone from the Parthenon, does anyone know?
Just returned after a wonderful holiday. Ate in here several times and the food and service is always superb. They were full every night and having to turn people away.
It is always nice that the staff remember us each year. Meals we had in Dias were delicious. The Gyros is beautiful and Moussaka excellent. Good value for money and very polite staff.
The meals we ate in here were great. The chicken burrito was lovely and they make an amazing ceasar salad. Service top notch and we always had a nice table. The queues show it is a good place to eat and the staff are very polite.
The staff here are more like old friends after so many years visiting them. Lovely to see Yiannis back after a spell away. He does a wonderful PR job in getting in the families, the children adore him. All the staff are polite and courtous and the food is very good value for money. The spring rolls with chilli sauce are delicious and the special omelettes are great. Always a warm welcome.
A lovely setting for a beautiful meal. High standards as usual. No need for PR's the place speaks for itself. Super staff, courteous and professional. Try the spaghetti mafioza its wonderful.
Came in every other day for breakfast as Dia serves the best greek brekfast on the island. My son and husband always had a full english but the greek yoghurt and honey or traditional greek brekkie was the best. Steve and Dia are wonderful people and the staff are a credit to them.
