Big Plate - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L  (23 June 2005)

The guy at the front of the restaurant told us that we would have the best meal on the island, which of course we thought was usual sales banter.  He was right!  The swordfish souvlaki was awesome.  Fantastic restaurant, friendly staff, great food.  9/10

Castaways - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L  (23 June 2005)

Apparently this restaurant got 10/10...according to the PR chap.  Tried to sell us on both the food and the "fit waitresses" (who, to be fair, were).  Not a bad place to eat and the food was quite good - I had one of the custom stir-fries, which was chicken with satay.  Reccommend a visit.  8/10

Erato - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

Been to Argasi 4 times....been to Erato 4 times.  Ben, you put on a good meal as usual mate!  I'd reccommend anybody going to Argasi eat at this restaurant.  Pleasant people, nice environment and very good food.  9/10

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

Blimey, some people on here really are giving Peter a hard time.  He's a character, true enough, but the 24/7 Shack chap was so much worse (didn't know he was his son).  We find that should you eat there, he's usually okay.  But it's about the food right?  Food was good, but nothing spectacular.  Tiffany's is okay for a lunch, but probably not an evening meal.

Poseidon (old) - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L  (23 June 2005)

Offer of 10% off the meal was a bit too much to resist at the cash-strapped end of the week.  Still, was well worth it, especially seeing my mate attempt to beat this Greek Chicken.  Took it to the 10th round, but it won out in the end, lol.     The Chicken Brazil was very nice, and the staff were friendly.  Used to like Afrodite as a roof garden, but I think this one beats it.  Just.  8/10

Snack Academy - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

Ate breakfast here one morning - Irish Breakfast, and very nice it was too.  Nicely laid-out place, and is the sister establishment of the Beer Academy...which brings it up a notch in my estimation .   Worth a visit, definitely.  9/10

Stars Restaurant - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

Have eaten at Stars on a previous visit to Argasi and was impressed.  This time, we didn't make it for a full meal, but they do a cracking bacon toastie for breakfast!  Give 'em a try.  8/10

24-7 - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

no no no no.  avoid this place like it's old trafford and you're in an a**enal shirt.  seriously, this was the first place we ate breakfast because it was near our hotel.  food was lukewarm, and at 6 euros for a full english, overpriced.  and the bloke would not leave us be for the rest of the week.  so on the last day we told him we'd be "in tomorrow".  well, he asked for it.  3/10

Green Frog - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Adam L

Bah, how dare they move this pub and not tell me!  Last time I was in Argasi was 2003, and it was near the 'Shroom.  Now it's moved to a more remote location outside the resort.  Didn't get to the new Frog, but I remember it as a decent little place.  Always remember it was there that me and a mate heard the news on the TV "Chelsea have been bought by Roman Abramovich......"   If only we'd known....  7/10

Avalon - (Bars in Argassi)

Adam L

Only came in here one night, but it was a great laugh, as the staff from Legends were in too.  Nice bar, better than its previous incarnation, The Wreck.  If you're in Argasi, drop in!  They have plenty of theme nights on so its something a bit different too.  8/10

Beer Academy - (Bars in Argassi)

Adam L

oh yeah, this place rocks!  literally - a great rock night put on here.  nice to see all the footy shirts - must remember to bring a sc**thorpe utd one next time.   drank here on many an occasion.  kinda depressing seeing all these people playing far better pool than i could ever hope to, though....lol  9/10

Magic Mushroom - (Bars in Argassi)

Adam L

What can you say about a bar that plays Paradise City as soon as you walk in?  Magic (heh).  Seriously, its a fairly decent place, but one of the DJ's can ruin the music somewhat.  Worth going to.  7/10

Red Lion - (Bars in Argassi)

This is simply the bar in Argasi - spent many a night in here getting well and truly slaughtered.  Still, was never too drunk to attempt karaoke .  Hope my picture remains behind the bar for many years (or at least, I expect to see it next time I'm there!!!).  Staff here are fantastic - special mention for Claire and "The Dude" (never learnt yer name mate!).  Anyone who goes to Argasi simply must make time for the Lion.  10/10

Commodore Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Adam L

Location is fairly decent, and if you want to use the facilities of the sister complexes (Captains and Admirals) then you can.  Fairly simple pool and bar, just easy to relax here.  Reccommended if you're not after anything too fancy.  7/10

Ionian Hill Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Adam L

Well, the location is a bit naff - its a good 10 minute walk into the resort and its not a decent walk either.  The hotel itself though is really decent.  Nice pool, excellent pool bar, and they put on one helluva barbecue night.  Quality.  9/10
