we are a family with 2 boys aged 8 and 11. Best holiday ever. We nearly cancelled due to bad reviews, so glad we didnt. could not fault any of our holiday and have booked for same time next year
i think that the people who complained where those who do not have children and who wanted a quiet holiday. they should not have booked into a family place. i recommend going to p**violi taverna and caravel land bar. staff in both places are brill with children and adults alike. the kids club was open every day, except tuesday, and some evenings. this was for a couple of ours at a time which is ample when you are on holiday. i dont think the kids need longer than that. club reps were very good and so were the entertainment lads. cant wait for next year.
my family and i stayed at the hotel in the first 2 weeks of june last year. We have been to numerous places abroad before but found the Admirals to be the best holiday yet which is why we are going back this year. we found the entertainment very good, and the entertainers where not at all pushy for you to join in. The rooms were clean and we thought ideal as really they are only to sleep in. At the time that we went, there were not too many children. My children were 8 and 11 and i have to say that we watched them at all times as we would anywhere else. I dont like to see parents on holiday who allow their children to run wild as it spoils it for other people and you can never be too carefull. I do have to say though that a few days before we left, there were people and families coming into the hotel who were very loud so i was glad that we were leaving as i think that maybe they would have spoiled it alittle. Maybe the people who complained about parents letting their children run wild went at the wrong time, i dont know. I hope that we enjoy our holiday there this year as much as we did last year. Hello to george and the entertainment team, hope you are still there in june.
Hi cheryl. we stayed at the admirals last year . there were 4 of us (2adults and 2 boys aged 8 and 12) and it was the best holiday that we have ever had. The day that we returned to england, we booked again for the same time this year. We went in june and it was lovely. There was a 2 ring cooker in our apartment and the apartments were spotless. There has been quite a bit of negative feedback about the Admirals, i dont know if the people complaining went there at peak times, so it may have been more rowdy then. We went in june and it was great. there were plenty of sunbeds to go around and there was no trouble with anything. i must admit though, a few days before we left, there were quite a few young groups arriving and it did become alittle noisier. Perhaps if we had gone a few weeks later it may have been different. The kids absolutely loved it and the reps at the kids club were great. I am sure you will have a great holiday. A holiday is what you make it.
Hi Katrina. We booked last year for the Admirals and i went onto the review sights and was that apalled with what i read, i very nearly cancelled. The only reason that i didnt was because it would have cost too much. Anyway, we got there and it was fab. The best holiday that we have ever had and i was gutted when we had to leave. My 2 boys were 8 and 11 at the time and they had the time of their lives. There were no broken bottles or dead mice. There were plenty of sun loungers (we went in the first 2 weeks in june) and the reps and staff were brill. We enjoyed it so much that i booked again on the same day that we got back. We are going again soon and cannot wait.Hope this will help to put your mind at rest.
we are going back to the Admirals on the 5th of june and cant wait. Does anyone know if happy hazel and jolie jodie are running the kids club again this year?. Also, is the weather due to stay hot? We are so looking forward to going back.
Siani, i dont think that you have anything to worry about. Yes, they do bingo and battle of the sexes and stuff but if you dont want to take part, there is definetely no pressure, we didnt. Last year, they did water volley and lilo races that everyone appaered to love taking part in. It was very good entertainment for the kids and if you dont mind children, you should be fine. There were people there last year that had obviously gone as a couple to have a quiet time and disliked children being there. However we never saw any badly behaved children, just children having a wonderful holiday. We have been to Butlins in the past and did not like it but this holiday we loved. Hope this helps
Hi Reece. I was wondering what time of the year it was when you went to the Admirals as it sounded dreadful. We went last year in the first 2 weeks of june and it was nothing like that. We have done the Butlins thing and did not like it at all and had a fantastic time at the Admirals. There were no dirty pool or broken glasses and there were plenty of sun loungers and lots of room in the pool. We cant wait to go back.
We have returned from our 2 week stay at the Admirals and yet again we had a fantastic time. The cleaning staff did another fantastic job and so did the man who cleans around the pool. The complex was very clean again, the only let down was some of the people who spent their time around the pool and left all of their rubbish and empty beer bottles and glasses there when they had finished. There is really no need for this as there are bins on every corner of the complex around the pool. The entertainment was fantastic again, thanks to George who does an excellent job and works hard to keep everyone happy. The weather got hotter and hotter in the second week so i would recommend the air conditioning as this was fab. It is 5 euro a day but is well worth it. We met some great people there, Hi to T.Js mum if you read this. We hope you got home safely. Also, Hi to Scruff and family. We are looking at returning next year as we could not fault the holiday. We are missing the place already.
I agree with Christina. We have just come back from Tsilivi but did not stay at the Caravel. However, after seeing the animation team do their shows last year, we had to go back this year and yet again it was great. The who;e team were great again and were fantastic with my children. They always made us feel welcome and they always made us laugh. We will be going back next year for definite.
When we booked for the Admirals, the travel agents told us that there was only Thomas cook/jmc that did the Admirals apartments, hope this helps
We have been to the Admirals for 2 years running and had a great time on both occassions. What we noticed this year was peoples total disrigard for tidying up after themselves. We went this june and could not believe the amount of people who spend all day around the pool and not clean up after themselves. There were empty beer bottles, plates with half eaten food left from the pool bar and generally rubbish. People were even leaving dirty fag ends underneath the sunloungers when there were CLEAN, EMPTY ashtrays on every table around the pool. This is when it gets unclean and dangerous for the children. The man who cleans the pool and pool area did a fantastic job each evening, making sure that it was lovely and clean ready for the next day. So yes, the pool area did get untidy towards the end of the day, but i feel that this is down to individuals who cannot clean up after themselves.
Helena, i think that you have hit the nail on the head with everything that you have said. We went to the Admirals on june 5th for 2 weeks and had exactly the same time there last year. We found it busier this year but still had a great time so i do think that alot depends on what time of year that you go. Have a great time when you go back. We are going again next year and it cannot come soon enough for us.
We loved it too and cannot wait to go back in june. We cannot fault the apartments and the kids loved it. The entertainment was fantastic thanks to George who puts a great lot of time and effort into his job.
Not everyone likes the same but whilst we were staying at the Admirals, we ate at Perivoli. This is a restaurant that is set back on a lane only a five minute walk if that from the Admirals. There is an Indian man called Abraham who takes customers over. He stands on the pavement near to some go carts. The food was always fab and so was the service. There were 2 staff members in particular called Stella nd Philip who always made us welcome. We never had a bad meal there, it is a traditional greek taverna. We also had a couple of meals at the Golden Fish chip restaurant and again we never had a bad meal. It does depend on the individual though. We highly recommend the Admirals but it does get negative comments so take this into account as you cannot please everyone.
We have booked again for next year. We are going at exactly the same time as we did last year but it has cost us about £3oo quid more. Dont know why but we love the Admirals so much, we think its worth it.
Hi. Does anyone know if George is back this year. We are back soon, cant wait
We visited the reptile house a few weeks ago and it was fab. Does anyone know if it has its own web site. If so could you please post the full address on here so that i can go onto it. Cheers
This place does the best english breakfast and the staff are so friendly. We have been going here for 3 years and will hopefully be back next year. A must for a great brekkie. A+++++
We spent many a night in the red apple and it is fantastic. Spiros and Dennis were great with my 2 sons and they really did make us feel welcome each time we went in. Spiros makes a fab cocktail and even let my sons shake a few, which they loved. We will be back next year. Hi to Spiros and Dennis if you see this. Dont work too hard and robbie will be back in 8 years for his job ha ha ha.
We have been coming here for the past 3 years and it gets better. It is always lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help you. The meals are very well presented and the portions are ample. The meals are also very cheap and are definetely value for money. You will not be dissappointed if you eat here. They will do any meal to accomodate you (my son had chip wraps) and nothing is too much trouble. Hope to go back next year
Yes, we have tried to email the Red Apple too. We even used the address from the back of one of their t.shirts but it just keeps failing. We have been trying since June
Hi Lindsey. we are going to the Admirals in june, for the 4th time. we are going with friends this year and their mum is going on her own and has booked into the Jupiter Hotel which is a 5 minute walk from admirals. It has cost just over £500 for 2 weeks, bed and breakfast. The others are Planos Bay and Planos but they are sister hotels of the Admirals so may not do singles. There is Caravel Hotel around the corner and also Alexandra Beach Hotel that is about a 5 minute walk away.
We are going back to the Admirals this year (4th year in a row). we had to have air con last year and the year before and it was never a problem. I dont think all rooms have it though. George is not there this year, dont know why. It will be strange without him. We cannot fault the Admirals. Some call it but we would not keep returning if it was not any good. Its clean and the kids love it. Cant wait to go. Hope nothing much has changed.
Can anyone help. We are going back to the Admirals for the 4th time. Does anyone know anything about the entertainment thats on offer. It was good when George was there but now he is not there i wondered if anything has changed. Also, is the Red Apple bar still across the road?
Well well well. What a difference a year makes. We have just returned from the Admirals (4th year in a row) and never again. Dont get me wrong. The rooms were still clean and the maid service good. However, the hotel is now over run with other nationalities. We were told by staff that there are now only 50 rooms that are available for the English. This would not be a problem as we can usually get on with anyone and have made many friends in Tsilivi over the years. However, the majority of people who were staying at the Admirals were arrogant, ignorant and looked at you like you were crap on the bottom of their shoe. I thought that it was only us that felt this way but alot of others felt the same. We met people there who we had met there previous years and they said that they would not return either. There was also alot of noise at night. So that they can deal with the all inclusive market, they have built a stage outside near the pool. This however means that no room is a quite room and i was awake one morning until 3oclock with the noise. My family goes on holiday to have a good time and to also relax, so this is not ideal. We only spent one day in the Admirals pool as we were looked at like freaks if our children jumped into the pool (my children are well behaved and are not left to run riot like some). We saved for a year to go on holiday to the Admirals again and we were made to feel like outcasts. We went out one evening for 4 hours and when we returned, someone had been in our room. Nothing had been taken but that was not the point. When we spoke to reception, they did not know what to say and we never got to the bottom of it. I would recommend that your purchase the safety deposit box. Also, in previous years, we have purchaesd the air condition on a daily basis, as and when we have needed it. However, when we tried to purcahse this a day before we left, we were told that we could not have it as it has to be purchased for a minimum of three days, so be careful of this too. I do not want to put people off. Others may go and have a fantastic time but i am really dissapionted this year as the 3 years before have been fantastic.
We were there until the 16th June and the exchange rate was 1.20. This was the same for everywhere.
Planos is opposite the entrance to Admirals. If you are going there you should be o.k. It appeared quieter than the Admirals when we were there in the first two weeks of June. Hope this helps
Can anyone tell me whereabouts this place is. we usually stay at the Admirals which is near to the Caravel hotel and the red apple bar. Is it anywhere near there or is it much further into town near popeyes
i have had 2 comments taken off now. An ameriacn comment has also been taken off. Someone obviously does not like the comments, howver true they are
Hi Sharon. This was the fourth year we had been and we will not go again. We were gutted. It has gone downhill big style.
