The service was terrible, still waiting to be asked if I wanted dessert. The food was average and the ingredients did not reflect the description from the menu. I certainly was dissapointed and would not recommend it .
The food was actually ok but i would not recommend the meatballs. Peter is annoying and doesn't like to take no for an answer so you do end up trying to avoid him if at all possible. Also, one of his staff that runs the little cruise next door is almost equally as irritating.
We visited Remezzo almost every day on our holiday, we were always made to feel very welcome. The food is simple fare but excellent and very reasonably priced, and the BBQ night was good fun - George was definitely the star of the show! The family are all very friendly and not pushy at all. They remember all of their customers and George even saved us a couple of sunbeds near our usual spot when someone took the ones we normally went to! We would definitely recommend Remezzo.
The day trip was far too long, particularly as it was too windy to disembark at the shipwreck. The food on board was dreadful and very overpriced. Also, the tour guide was not "marvellous" but rather extremely annoying as the day went on. The only highlight was one of the Thomas Cook reps, Dougie, leading the diving off the boat fully clothed. Dougie saved the day!
The rooms are basic, as you would expect, but very clean, and had the added luxury of a shower curtain! We had a good seaview, but the peace was spoiled by a group of raucous teenagers two apartments down who took to throwing the furniture from their balcony. We didn't visit the pool and the one time that we were dragged into the reception area for the night's entertainment we did have a laugh but it could only be a one-off. The staff were friendly and helpful but it just so happened that on the day we left and needed to keep our room (with 14 hours between check out and our pick up from the hotel), that the price of doing so went up by around 15 euros. It was a nuisance taking our suitcases downstairs only to be sent back up to the same room, but it was worth it.
The staff were not friendly and treated us as a chore, one waiter actually threw our bread down onto the table. The lasagne was nearer to being shepherd's pie than anything else so don't try that one. The appeal of sitting in a roof garden restaurant soon wears off in this place.
Disregard any negative comments below - Angelo is one of the loveliest people we met on the island, far from a 'slime ball'. He was not pushy at all and he and all of his staff did their best to make each night we visited just great. The food is amazing, we highly recommend the shrimp saganaki starter and the stifado. The lovely young wine waiter was extremely polite and Yannis was also great. If we ever return to Zante, we'll have to pay Big Plate a visit.
