Hi. Been to Tsilivi 3 times now but never stayed in the Ariadne apartments. Booked in to stay there for 2 weeks in September this year. They do sound very nice-going off comments posted on here about them. Could anyone tell me exactly whereabouts they are?....Also,do they all still have sea views(ie no further developements been made)?.......Do they have safety deposit boxes in rooms and fans to hire?....and at what price?................CHEERS!!
Does anyone know what the current exchange rate is in Tsilivi? Ta for any help
Maria-you have your restaurants mixed up!The restaurant with the moustachioed waiter you`re thinking of is the Athina a bit further up the road, into the centre of Tsilivi.
Sept/Oct 2007-went to Apollon restaurant 3 times in the 2 weeks we were there on holiday. The food was extremely nice on each occasion-hence returning for 3 visits. Prices were very reasonable-an average bill price for 1/2 litre of house wine,2 mythos,bread/starter and 2 mains was roughly 18 euros/about £13. Portion sizes weren`t skimped on(as some were tending to do). Service was okay. The only negative was that if you wanted greek potatoes, and it wasnt a necessity of the dish, you were being told that it depended on whether there were any left-so you would get rice and/or chips instead. Would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone. We had been to Apollon also in 2005 and it was as good then. For anyone who doesnt know where the restaurant is it is located just beyond Paradise bar,on same side of the road, coming away from the centre of Tsilivi-next to a vehicle hire company.
We have to add a comment on here for this restaurant as this was one of the few that we chose to visit on several occasions-actually 3 times-over the 2 weeks holiday this year. (-We came back the same day as you Steve-09th Oct). The food was excellent-good portions, good quality, cooked to perfection. Prices were extremely reasonable-each time averaging around 20Euros/about £28 for 2 people-for bread,a starter,2 mains,a couple of mythos and 1 litre of very good quality house wine(-though,must note here that the house wine was free). Staff were extremely friendly, professional and always smiling. Highly recommended. Benikos is located across the road from the supermarket with the escalator, near `That Bar` and next door to `Sweet Revenge` Restaurant. We will definitely return here when go back to Tsilivi.
Paid a return visit here for this years` holiday(Sept/Oct 2007),as we had been before 2 years previously and really enjoyed the meal. Have to say that this time around we wouldn`t quite rate it in the same category as would have done back then. The meal was very nice but the portion sizes had been skrimped on-whilst prices were still the same. The service also wasnt the best-you were left feeling that they had already basically shut up shop and weren`t doing anymore work this season(even though the owner said that he remembered us from 2 years ago). Pretty disappointed really-especially as the first visit here was as good as it was.
This was one of the restaurants that we had planned to visit for our hols this year-Sept/Oct 2007; really looking forward to it. Unfortunately discovered that it has been completely shut up.
Just got back aftre our 4th visit in the last 5 years. There, sesms to be misunderstanding about this resteraunt, are there are 2 Dionysos Taverna,s in Tsilivi. The one we would recomend is down the side of the Alamis apartments. The owner is called Janni he does,nt speak the best of english, but the food and atmosphere are brilliant average price for a main meal is about 5Eruos a bottle of mythos 1.50 a bottle of deacent red wine 3.90. The only downside is because Janni does,nt speak good english you sometimes do,nt alays get what you order. But Janni is really friendly and tries very hard .Had the special one nite Pork chop in wine sauce with greek potatoes and veg 4.50 Eruos and it,s got too be the biggest pork chop i,ve ever seen
