Divina Studios

Well, just arrived back home today. there were 7 of us girls that went to divina, and when we first arrived the pool was very clean as we expected it to be green due to previous comments we read, and as the days went on we noticed that the pool went a very noticable green and was very slimey on our last day.

the hotel was good, what i was expecting, really simple rooms, and nice pool area. surprisingly the main problem was, maria was an absolute b***h to us, seriously, right from the start for no reason, i didn't know what her problem was. also the bar is pretty s**t, pretty high prices, and f**king awful food, don't get chicken burgers. also, on the last couple of days, they started trying to kick us out, but decided not to instead charge us 150 euros of damage. we were determined not to pay this as clearly all our stuff was there but just the rooms were dirty. we got shouted at and harassed in greek by the owner and for no reason maria the b***h got involved. in the end, would took the owners round a tour of our rooms, forcing them to realise that there was no damage done, thus they could not charge us any money. all in all, don't go there, the staff are w**kers, s**t cleaners, s**t food and maria is a b***h!!!!

We recently stayed at these studios but only for a night.  We went on 4th September with a baby, and although in the brochure this is recommended as a quiet hotel, I'm afraid it wasn't and we asked to move.  We'd asked for a ground floor room but were put on the 2nd floor, which wasn't easy with a pushchair.  Unfortunately the 2nd floor was full of 18-20 year olds and we were kept up all night until 6:30am (although apparently this hotel has a strict quiet time from midnight - 8am, which didn't seem the case when we were there). 

Just got back off of holiday yesterday, really missing zantes lovely weather and divina apartments.   We have already decided to make a definate return next year. 

The apartments were very clean and presentable, the pool is a decent size, and their are plenty of sunbed's. The food served throughout the day, is excellent .

The most enjoyable part of the holiday was meeting spiros and maria who work behind the bar, they are absolutely brilliant people, who have really made our holiday this year, we felt so welcome, and have had such a laf.  we could have happily spent most our late nights at the bar. cant wait to return next year!!

Only arrived home today and Im missing the place already  Maria And Spiros run the hotel pool bar and they are lovley. I went with a group of 20 people and they were brilliant to us, really made sure we enjoyed ourselves at the hotel. They make divina studios what it is!!  As long as your good to them, they're good to you....Happy hour all night long people!! The pool itself is great, good sized pool and very clean. Its never cramped round the pool either which I think is a good thing. It may be a bit far from the main strip, but with the service you get here its worth it. I would definatly go back here, even just to see Maria & Spiros!! Miss u both x.x.x.x

Just arrived back from the divina hotel and what a fantastic holiday it was.  Myself and a group of 20 other lads and girls went there for 2 weeks and had no trouble at all.  Maria and spiros (the bar owners) are lovely people and have now became very good friends of our group.  I will definatly be returning as soon as possible.  The hotel owners are nice enough people too if you are polite and pleasent to them. Definatly go there you will have a wicked holiday.

The holiday itself was superb, maria and spiros are very nice people, the location is preety ace, the atmosphere is decent and the nightlife is immense. However, 1 problem our group of lads did have is with the owners of the hotel, who could hardly speek a word of english, will fine your group if anything at all is broken, with a tiny hole in the door after the first nite we got fined 300euros, in which they said they would replace the door within 2 days, a week after that happend when we left, there was no new door. On our second nite we were being slightly noisy and the owners came in and started shouting at us in greek and pushing us around the room, threating to call the policia and then the morning after we got given our final warning, after that we all agreed to end the nite when we got back to our hotel. This was the only down point of the holiday, still i would deffinatly come back again, just a warning to lads and ladies if u are going to be a bit rowdy try not to breake anything because they will charge u well over the odds, and theres no way around not paying the fines, still superb holiday    might be back next year! another fantastic hol with great company and even better hosts!!  maria and spyros are the best you will ever meet and if you are lucky to meet lovely people like we did then your hol will be perfect.

i've just got back from here too. the 2 ladys who come and clean the rooms woke us up and asked us they they could clean, we said no, but they completely ignored us. there was plug sockets hanging out the wall and wiring everywhere. cooker and all cutlery was filthy. pool and bar were sweet, and the workers there were great. although the bar did close at 8pm on friday night without warning, which was a pain in the a**e. other than that, these appartments were fine.

We stayed here in June 2008 just got back. Had an absolutley brill time at divina, the rooms were basic but fine for what we needed. Maria and Spiros are fantastic they made our holiday even better. the hotel barbacue was ace aswell and they joined in with everything. Were keeping in touch and are planning to go in a few months again. anybody going here will have an ace time!!

We stayed at the Divina studios for 2 weeks (2nd to 16th Sept). On arrival we had a very warm welcome from our very good friends Maria, Spiros, and Momma, the rooms are basic but clean, beds and towels are changed regulary, the pool was nice and clear, the pool bar area was also nice and clean, a well stocked bar plenty of spirits and beers to choose from, the food as usual is very good and there is plenty of choise on the menu. We must thank momma for the great food, also thank you Maria, Spiros, for making it another great holiday. Spiros one day we will get our revenge.

Divina Studios was ok. Except in my room, hardly anything worked, we had cold showers permanantly, lights that wudnt work and my bed was broke. We nearly got thrown out on the 2nd day for "noise" and "jumping over balconies" pfft! What do they expect eh? 18-30's are bound to be a bit rowdy.

The owner (who we named Razi) was a tosser, he was sooo glad to see us leave haha! He just walks around the apartmants at all hours, I dont think he sleeps. Then if you whisper at a dodgy hour he comes bangin on your door, and rambles a load of Greek to you, and were just standin there saying, "what the hell are you on about!?" he doesnt understand a word of English.

The pool: pretty crap, i got an ear infection because of the rank water. Didn't really get talking to Maria and Spiros, seemed nice though. Food was decent too.

 

Zante itself is an awesome place, best clubs and bars: Boozerz, Sabotage, Cherry Bay, Must Bar and Sizzle. Didnt see ANY turtles at all, so thats just a myth!  We were the lads in yellow t-shirts haha "pie eaters" from Wigan! Hint: drink sambuca before you go out...saves lots ;)

I had no real problems with the staff, although there is restricted 'quiet times' in the hotel Also didn't find the pool very appealing, (as it was green!) however this didnt matter greatly as we just used the lovely pool next door at Oasis-lovely food and drink, and a friendly barman- Tommy!
I did think the location of the hotel was brilliant, as it is a quiter part of laganas, the beaches are clean, (and i saw a  couple of turtles whilst snorkeling there), just a 20 min walk down the well-lit up beach to the strip, so a  good choice i would say! Also enjoyed the lushious cocktails during happy hour at the bar!! Recommended to all..!

Divina Studios was clean and nice, however I have some mejor issues withe the satff there and some of their policies.

well last year was excellent even though i wasent in the apartments but i mostly was there all the time and me and my family was going out with maria and spiros which is part of my family because we met them 2 years ago and we even met arthur and he was really funny me and my family played bowling with maria spiros and arthur. the pool was really good and clean. if you want good food mamas is the best. 

i met the boss but i didnt understand him but he made me smile because he was dancing around and somthing was in the ppol and he flicked it at me.  the greek nights was fantastic because they got me up dancing lol it was embarrising.  the other thing that i liked about divinas is that we met people and they became out friends.

i hope you like divinas if you are going you are going to enjoy it.

Hi everyone..............i lived in these appartments two summers ago when i worked in Laganas. And they were cool, basic, but good fun! The pool and pool bar are both really nice and its close to the beach!!! The actual owners dont speak much English but are friendly but whoever runs the pool bar will speak English and sort out any probs you have, as well as the rep. (if the bar man is still Kostas he's the coolest guy and will do anything for you!) As for noise their not overly strict but you've got to remember there are other people staying there (young peeps as well as families) so if you come back at like 4am screaming and shouting your bound to get in trouble! But thats like anywhere, on my 1st girly holiday when i was like 17 we did exactly the same thing (being noisey) and nearly got thrown out, so then after that we just keep our parties and noise at the beach!!! But yeah its a good little hotel and i hope whoever goes there has as much fun as i did..........Laganas is a crazy place!!! Zoe xxx

not only are the hosts maria and spiros the best on the island but their b.b.q's(spiros dad cooks) are the best you could ever go too. you guys are not only great friends,you are part of our family and we love and miss you very much,thanx for another great holiday and make sure you keep enough rooms for us all next year as we are staying with you(after all the comments i dont think the elite will have us anyway).Anyone considering staying here we recommend it highly,even though we didn't stay here we spent all of our stay here as its the the best place to be.Also if you want to have good home made food Mama's is the best

Well where shall we start....it was the quickest two weeks ever We didn't stay here as such but spent every waking minute here. Maria and Spiros it was so good to see you again. There were a group of 17 in total and we all went here every day. We went each morning to experience Mama's cooking which as always was fab. We were glad that Maria took our order most mornings Spiros you know why!!!! With english sausage and bacon!!! haha

Mariah and Spiros make this place what it is! The hotel is good, not too far from the strip but far enough so when you wake up with a hangover theres no tooting horns to annoy u! Its the Bar that makes it EXCELLENT... well the bar staff really, Mariah and Spiros made this holiday one of the best ever for us! If your going to Laganas, you want to stay ere jus so u got their company! Mariah is wild and holds the best Quizes (which do include drinking games that make it even better)! Wikid Laugh but get on the wrong side of her and she'll throw u in the pool!  Spiros is a BRILLIANT! Reckons he's the best Darts player in the world, and abit of a gambler when it comes to football! Will keep you entertained the whole time! As soon as we got back we missed them soooooo much! Sure to go back next year to see them!

Mariah and Spiros, if you read this... WE miss you guys!!! See you next year!!

Hey Maria and Spiros, hope you read this!! Michelle and i went away for what was to be a nice relaxing holiday at the end of July cause we were stressed with work etc and boy did that not happen.  We had one of the best holidays ever, Maria and Spiros are the most hospitable friendly people you will meet.  Shell and i are already going to be booking up next year for the same apartments, the antics round the pool were hilarious!!  Be careful if you are walking near the pool as guarenteed if Spiros and the other guys are in a mischeivious mood then you will end up in the pool, sunglasses, watch clothes and all!!

Looking forward to seeing you guys again next year (and for 2 weeks this time!!!!)

where are the best places to go on night out?  and where are the cheap places to eat? as we're students we're on a budget any tips will be great.

just got back from the divina last nite, there were 6 of us from newcastle, and it was an amazing holiday, wish i was still there only seems like 5 minutes since we got into the minibus to manchester. maria and spiros are a good laugh but dont let maria make u do her aftershock trick, im still burning off it! the hotel owners couldnt really speak much english but if u wever needed halp u cud jus go to maria or spiros anyway. the hotels set back from the main strip so you dont hear the noise that comes from it on a night time, but its close enough to walk there. the strip itself is a bit mad (but thats the way we liked it) watch out for the begging little gypos on the streets theyll try an put their hands in your pockets and they need a good wash too! theres plenty of restaurants in laganas that you can enjoy just as long as your not too p!ssed to go there. the cocktails at happy hour are the best and you get a free shot of whatever you want. i wont say which clubs we thought were the best cos it all depends on the night really but jus go to the one that looks the best. the hotel rooms at first seemed very basic but we soon got used to them and found out that this was problably one of the better hotels. i cud keep writing so much more..... My fiance & I were at the Divina this July & had a fab time. The friendliness & shenanigans of everyone around the pool & the bar just made our holiday! Maria & Spiros are fantastic hosts- just don't leave your drink unattended as Spiros is a fan of 'enhancing' it with tabasco! Fun & mischief all the way- brilliant!!! Hi 2 Claire & Rich- Frank the Tank!!!

excellent holiday myself and my boyfriend went for two weeks it was brilliant spiros and maria are the greatest windup merchants on the planet watch out for ice cues and water pistols  going back next year!!!

My advice is that if you do book the Sunshine Apartments, on your night time returns get a taxi. Price is a minium of €5 (standard to anywhere in Laganas, always agree a price first). Do not walk down the beach on your own, as after dark can be a risky place. The only other way is a fair walk and not lit. The apartments themselves are fantastic, mainly built for familys and couples but will suit the single person well. Sorry for the late reply.

I can't find the tour operator for Divinas, though I haven't read all of these reviews yet. Not many tour operators allow single people to take a holiday! Olympic are the exception (so well done them.) Thanks for your help. Anne

how much spending money does anyone think that someone should take with them in order to have an amazing time in zante for 2 wks???? please help!

Stayed there for 2 weeks. Got back on 11th August. Divina is great for budget accomodation. Got all the basics and cleaned regularly. Has a good pool. About a 10 minute walk from the main strip. If you want a quiet holiday then stay away!! Hahahaha coz we rocked the place at night!!! If the Manchunian girls read this then hello from your neighbours!!! Kostas the bar man is a funny guy. He claims he is the world champion at Connect 4. I played him and lost many times so I believe him. Whatever you do make sure you don't take your own food or drink by the pool coz Kosta will bite your head off!!! The owners don't speak english at ALL so it can be very annoying at times. Loadsa wasps by the pool but they don't bite.

Just got back from Zante yesterday. Stayed at the Divina studios. Wicked time. Kostas and Lambi are totally brill and work so hard.........smile everytime I hear bloody nora and yes kostas your prices are 'chipa than Asda!!'. Laganas was great! If the sheffield lads or liverpool gals read this, had a great time meeting you!!! xxx

I have popped to Divina but early days in May and Kostas wasnt there and it hadnt opened im planning to go in a few days so il keep you inforemed! 5 of us are goin to Divina on 21st July. just booked yst and really excited! Anyone else ther round that time? And also, is it a long walk from the bars?!

I would recomend this accomodation to almost everyone, fantastic place well looked after by the management and Kostas and Laby do a fantastic job on the bar /pool. There is only one other hotel/appartments I would recomend in Laganas and that is Sunshine apartments(though not for young groups as it is mainly familys and Chris the manager will take no messing!)Divinas' only problem is getting to and from town. There is a shortcut down to the beach but would not recomend this to people who are unsure on there feet! The longer way round is by road which is fine except at night it's pitch black and uphill all the way to the hotel. If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer them, I was the rep for olympic there last year and recieved very few complaints about the divinia. Please remember though, it is in greece, self catering means a 2 hob electrical stove, a small sink and fridge, no iron!(Most common complaint in all self catering appartments!)

just thought id leave a quick message to say if anyone has any questions about these appartments message me because i worked out in greece last summer and i was living in these appartments for 4 months so i know just about everything there is to know about them. fell free to message me anything. some people have written a load of rubbish on this website aswell because ive never felt so welcomed by the owners and kosta (as i went out there alone!) its not a five star hotel or palace but its a nice place! and close to all the attractions! do you really think id have stayed there for for months if it was that "s**te"!....no.

I went to divina in aug 2004, We found the hotel was fantastic. Kostas works hard and works every hour that the day sends. If you give him some respect you will find he will give it you back in bucket loads. One of my friends was ill while we were away he he did everything he could to make her feel better. In my opinion families should book holidays on allocation on arrival as there is no promise that were they will end up in a child friendly. While i would say that the hotel is child friendly i would not suggest that laganas is. Why would you take a four year old child to a resort described as yound and lively?? The hotel is right near the the beach and a ten min walk along the beach (with resturnats all the way down) will bring you to the main strip. The pool is fantastic and well maintained, the rooms are basic (as in all of greece) but they a kept clean. We had a fantastic holiday and found the olympic reps to be friendly and helpful in any way they can be. Instead of a holiday form hell, i would suggest that they are a family from hell who probably ruined everyone elses holiday as well as there own. Would strongly suggest divina to people who want to party but don't want to stay on the main strip!

What a load of rubbish!!!!! i am actually living in one of the hotel rooms at Divina and it is a really nice place. Im working out here in a restaurant and have lived at Divina for 2 months. The owner does not speak english but Kostas and Labi who run the pool bar and also live there will do anything for you. If you have any problems wat so ever thay will sort it out for you. They are both really friendly people and i really dont think ive met anyone nicer! the hotel is clean, nice food and a lovely pool and its just a short walk to the beach and the main strip. Which is handy. Ill think you'll find the reason Kostas went mad is because you were all drunk (fair enough) and your daughter (who is 14 i believe!) was also drunk and Kostas who didnt know this at the time was serving her. So thats why he said she could not get served anymore. so then you were getting drinks and giving them to her. What else was he supposed to? I dont think your daughter would get served at a bar in England? so why should Greece be any different. You can only buy alcohol if you are 18. So im sorry i think you brought this 'HELL' upon yourself and spoilt your own holiday.

Olympic holidays moved us with our 5 kids to this place three days after we had arrived. Evidently its policy to move you if you are allocation on arrival.
On our arrival we met Costas who at first appeared friendly and nice. he was the only member of staff who could speak English. However after about four days there one night Costas completely lost the plot and threatened to hit my eldest daughter. She was having a very quiet disagreement with her mother i was sitting at the bar playing cards with Costa when he decided to interfere between mother and daughter and told her to have respect otherwise he would slap her. He then jumped up and threw his playing cards at me and stormed off having taken our drinks away from us. He then called the police. When the police arrived they were not interested in what he had to say and got back into their car. The next morning Costas came to my room and told me that the children were not allowed to use the pool or buy any drinks from the bar.I attempted to contact the Olympic reps but they were totally useless. We were kept vitual prisoners in our room until the afternoon when he came up to appologise to the whole family for his behaviour. Unfortunately this incident ruined our whole holiday but there was worse to come. Two nights later my youngest daughter who is four got upset and cried for about 10 mins. The next day the holiday rep from Olympic actually turned up and told me to keep my child quiet. I asked how i was supposed to do this and she said she didn't care just stop her from crying because they had had a complaint. Unbelieveable! The remainder of the holiday we felt constantly under pressure in case the kids made any noise.
I would like to thank Ray Donna and Lauren fellow prisoners in this hell hole for their support and help. Without their help we would have gone insane.
I will never visit Greece again and I will never book through Olympic holidays. If you have booked to stay here my advice is cancel and go somewhere where you are made to feel welcome and you can relax with your family.

Bloody Nora!!! OK, so it's not the Ritz, but it's clean and tidy. Kostas and Labi, who now run the pool bar, are excellent fun. The Pool area is clean and tidy - perfect for kids. The beach is a stones throw away, and the strip is only a 10 minute walk along the beach (although the steps on the way home can be a killer!). All in all, a good time was had by all!!!

Antony is no longer there and won't be goin back- new guy now - Costas is great if not a bit mad.
