Paporo Beach Restaurant

There are plenty of better restaurants than this in Alykes.  It's big and when we went it was almost empty.  Perhaps that says it all.  Only good thing is its beach location.  No atmosphere, slow service and very average food.

Hoping to come back to Alykes next summer, any news on the apartments you were hoping to build.

the pizzas are ok, big and you can't expect proper italian standards in greece! the waiter was lovely and the wine pretty good for barreled stuff. also a nice place to eat during the day - it's very quiet at night but i think that could be because it's so big!

Both my wife and I thought that everything about this restaurant was excellent, the food was hot and delicious, served by friendly and efficient waiters. The wine was also amongst the best we had the entire holiday and the price for the meals didn't break the bank.

Having been to Alykes on holiday for the last seven years you will have to look hard for another restaurant which makes your holiday one in a million like this one does. The pizzas are the best I have ever eaten, and will be enjoying one or two again this year.

This was an ok kind of place. There are better restaurants in Alykes if you like Greek food.

A superb restaurant, offering a large selection of freshly prepared food, and even a 'doggy bag' if you cannot manage to eat it all at once.The views over the beach and sea onto kefalonia will bring out the Shirley Valentine in everyone!.

Nice restaurant with fantastic views of Kefalonia (especially nice at sunset). The huge pizza's and Greek specialities were good, and the ice cream and cocktails were also very tasty. The staff are very friendly and will convince you to have a cocktail and an ice cream after your meal. I have Paporo to thank for the 6 bottles of dry white Callinico wine (try it it's really easy to drink) that I brought back!

we visited paporo bar and restaurant in may 2003. The staff were very nice and willing to serve you, The food was excellent. The red house wine is the best! We definately recommend this taverna to anyone who visits Alykes. We enjoyed the food so much we went back again and again.

We stayed in Alykes for a week, this year & ate at Paporo every night...need we say more? Try the Kleftiko, it's wonderful & their pizzas are the best! Best regards to Spike, our friendly waiter....more brass neck than your average waiter, but a great laugh nonetheless!! We'll definitely be back......thanks for being part of a great holiday, Jonni.....(one of the 3 giggling beach potatoes)

Sorry Helen (below) - I think you must have visited another restaurant - my wife and I visited there in May and we were bowled over by the quality of the food and the service received. It wasn't particularly busy on either of our visits, but on one occasion there were two young boys running about, and that didn't bother the waiter, and the other occasion saw a family with a disabled son turn up - we were sat on the next table, and the same waiter made him feel very special, and treated him fantastic. One final point - if you have a full pizza, DON'T have a starter!!

worst meal i've ever had in greece!

We picked this restaurant for its location on the beach the first time we visited it. We wanted a romantic location for our silver wedding anniversary meal and we were not disapointed. We enjoyed the meal so much we ended up going back three times. The beef stiffado was the best we had ever tasted and the chicken a la creme was fantastic. Would certainly recommend it to our friends.

had a cocktail to start-great food,great view what more do you want! and our 20month old was most impressed with the baked beans!!!

Hello Costas and everybody else, We loved the food here and the service was brilliant ( thanks Tony). We'd recommend the souvlaki and the stifado and well everything really. See you all next August 1st. Lots of love Roy & Hazel.
