Another great holiday in Alikes. Always eat at Zorbas, The food is all home cooked by Billy, the kitchen is exposed to the diners, who wander in and out for a chat. Debbie is a great host along with her double act Tony.Gets very busy, and a lot of guests are regulars, who eat there every night. Cannot fault one thing about this Taverna, from the excellant food down to the hospitality. Will be back in 2012. Barbara and John.

My wife and I have just returned from our ninth year holiday in Alikes in Zanty we have eating in most of the tavernas in Alikes yes they are all are for very good for food and service but for price and service one stands out for us the most it is ZORBAS its run by Billy and Debbie and Tony Debbie is married to Billy and she comes from the north east of England a place called Lanchester in county Durham and has been with Billy a long time and still has her Geordie accent so you always in for a good friendly welcome she always tries to have a friendly chat to all who go in to eat there Billy cooks and Tony help with the waiting on tables and he always has a friendly word to all so don't just look at the menu and walk past go in and try a meal you will not be disappointed on the food and most of all the price and the welcome ZORBAS is the best of all.

Excellent service. Grill is brill for meat. Enjoyed watching the horses and carts driving past. This kept my children entertained. The children loved the chicken nuggets. Normally I am not a fan of these as the meat can be reformed rubbish but they were nice chicken in breadcrumbs so we felt happy when they picked these every so often. Lovely main meals. Only disappointment was the range of desserts- after visiting a couple of times we did miss having more to choose from.
We ate there every night and the food is just fantastic highly recommended , many thanx to debbie & billy and toni, we will be back in the very near future.
Spent 3 weeks in Alykes and ate most of the time at Zorbas after experiencing many other places but, decided Zorbas was the best! The food here was great and would highly recommend this restaurant. For anyone looking to sample the local cuisine I recommend the beef stifado, kelftiko, chicken giros, grilled feta, Greek salad, Souvlaki and of course the local wine. Also the honey glazed local pork chops and chicken, minted lamb chop, fish and mixed grill were excellent and catered for all tastes. For desert, the baklava, apple pie and death by chocolate were good but, my favourite was Debbie's home made sticky toffee pudding and ice cream!! Yum Yum!! Added to this there was a nice friendly, Greek atmosphere in which families, couples and single people alike enjoyed, (with many people often returning to eat there). Cannot wait to go back when we next return to Alykes!!
Hello to owners Billy & Debbie and to Tony the waiter. xx
Hi
I would recommend the kleftico here. It's very tender and tasty. My husband loves their mixed grill (and he's a bit of an expert on meat).
Hi to Debbie, Billy and Staff
Another year and Zorbas only gets better. Many thanks to Debbie, Billy, Makis and Katarina for looking after us so well. The food and the company are exemplary and the house red takes quite a bit of beating as well!
We loved the food at Zorba's must have went three nights on the trot, you can not fault the food the Beef stifado is to die for ...
Well done to whoever the last person was! Were you paid by 'relax' to write that report!!!!
THE BEST WELCOME in Alykes from Debbie, Billy and Makis, as usual. Two weeks of the best food in town with our particular favourite menu choices being the honey glazed chicken, caesar salad, chicken gyros and of course moussaka.
All round excellent. Friendly atmosphere, gorgeous food, brilliant value for money - would DEFINITELY recommend.
Just returned from 2 weeks in Alykes for the third time and were not disappointed in our meals at Zorbas. We always eat here and the food and service are excellent!
Yes, a genuine Greek taverna! In fact, one of the original Tavernas in Alykes! Zorbas has an extensive and authentic menu, provides very friendly service and beautiful home cooked food. We were made to feel very welcome every night. With Debbie and Makis at the helm and Billy at the grill, there is a really good atmostphere! If I was to go back and choose my favourite meal, for me personally it would have to be the stuffed tomatoes for starters, honey glazed chicken (mmmmmm melt in the mouth!) for main and crepes for dessert! Zorbas is very clean, caters for children and offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
We found the food and staff excellent , very attentive to our every need thanks and see you again,Bob and Heather Boon
Have to be fair and say that we only dined there once, but once was enough!
Heya, I went with Alex and our familys and it the best there. We went there loads. We were worried it wouldn't be open this year cause on this website it said it was up for sale! But Costas is still there so good. We are going back in less than 2 weeks and will definatly go there. It should get much more than a 5/10 xx xx yasou!
We have just come back from Alykes and enjoyed every minute of the holiday. We can recommend a great friendly restaurant called Zorba's, run by Debbie, Billy and Costas. They made us feel very welcome and the food was fantastic and we would like to say HI! and send our love and hope to see you again soon. Yammas x Love from Kev & Dee.
just back from alykes 22/05/2005,and we tried a different place each night. zorbas was about the best for service, cost and menu, although it was a close run thing with dennis and apollo.
Ooops... somehow my comment didn't go on. Well anyway:
Zorbas is a fantastic place to go to relax and to eat good home cooked
food. The staff and the owners (a Greek & English couple) are very
welcoming, relaxed, friendly, chatty and professional. What more could
you ask! If you don't want to try the delicious Greek food there is a
range for the traditional English tummy too.
We were only in Alykes for a short while unfortunately but once we'd
found Zorba's we stuck with it. Not very adventurous you might think,
but if it's not broke don't fix it! I love resaurants and this is a
good one, good value too.
The owner told us that there are now 40 places to eat in Alykes, which
seems a lot for the amount of trade around. Well good luck to Zorba's
(which was one of the originals) It's a lovely place and helped to make
our holiday. I'll be back.
Highly Recommended, Thank you !
