The food was nice but its the staff and atmosphere that make it. Just tell them you want greek dancing and plate smashing and they will happily oblige!!!

The food there was great and the plate smashing entertainment was outstanding. we went there twice and i would never say that i could hate that place !!!  

the best place to eat that we found during ur two week holiday denny and the crew are brill and dominico on the beach in his greek costume is great to see all the staff helped us to celebrate a wedding anniversary with family members ranging from 1 to 66 and everybohdy had a great night if you visit laganas be sure to check this restaurant out.

We went zante in july 2004 an it was top. Leo (donkey) is the best entertainment on the beach and were goin bak again next summer, so leo if u read any of these we will be back. but seriously greek islands is 1 of the best places on th island and the chicken nuggets are top

Hi guys Jo,Mark and Matthew here. Just like to say for the fourth year in a row you lived up to our expectations. This year we didn't eat anywhere else (lunch and teatime)! If your going to laganas please,please,please,visit this restaurant it's the best buy far.I had a different dish every night and they were all fantastic. The staff are all so friendly (even you Leo, the boss says hi!) Matthew is missing the plate smashing guys and we can't wait to boogie at cherry bay with you all. If you go to Zante then this is the Restaurant to check out. The service was absolutely brilliant and the prices were really good too. The entertainment was simply out of this world (including the greek dancng) which I thought was brilliant. Look out for Leo as he is such a sound bloke, he will certainly make you feel very welcome into this Restaurant.

You must go here. The waiters are all lovely, friendly and very attentive. Its good at lunchtime for a snack but better at nite - people in Greek costumes, dancing and plate smashing - the whole nine yards! The food was fab as well, big portions - only meal I couldn't finish! The staff give out cards during the day along the beach and are soooo friendly and lovely. Hi to Leo and Roberto.

the greek islands restaurant is an absolute must to visit. We discovered it 6 years ago and spend every lunch time and evening there each time we go back to zante. food staff service all excellent. needed taxi back for one of our party and danny wouldnt here of it and got leo to take them back. who would do that in an english restaurant? every one there is smashing, even billy and angelo who have moved on still came in during the evening , cant keep away!we have introduced lots of our friends there end now they are all hooked too! We feel like one of the family

The Greek Island Restaurant is a must if you visit Zante. The food is quality, so too is the service. On arrival you will be greated by Dominic or Leo who are most entertaining. The dancing is fun, however do not smash your plate over Dominic's knee as I did (unintentional I must add) as he jokingly gave me filthy looks for the remaining part of my holiday. On balance, a must for everyone.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST. we walked the length of the laganas road to eat here twice. Food is excellent, staff extremely friendly , and you must stay to see the dancing and smash a few plates.

The resturant was good fun,the waiters were entertaining, singing and dancing. We would have gone there a second time had I not visited the loo, it was by far the most dirty smelly loo I have ever been in,if they dont keep their loo clean whats the kitchen like? Put me right off.

Going back to laganas sept 16th. This will be my fourth time in a row. Danny & Steves is by far the best restaurant in Zante! The english breakfasts are to die for and the chicken curry pleases my fiance no end. The waiters are all fab and we often see billy in cherry bay just down the beach. Oh! and Peter LFC rock(wey'ay man!) Plate smashing and greek dancing there is great, and a free sex on the beach(or metaxa) is much appreciated! see you all in september!

I'm off to Zante for the 3rd time this year but I haven't tried the greek islands restaurant and reading all the reviews it sound great could anyone please tell thier location in Laganas

Hi all at Greek Islands. Its Sally and Carolyn, we came in mid June and ate at the restaurant most nights. The food is beatiful, as are the location and staff! The best holiday we ever had apart from the fact we both came back about a stone heavier!
We will be back to see you next year, for a sex on the beach!

Greek Islands is left at the roundabout and about half a mile towards Kalamaki. You can't miss it, Dominic will be outside in his Greek costume. Well worth the walk.

What can I say - yet another fantastic holiday. This is the 10th year I have been visiting Greek Islands Restaurant - in fact I didn't actually eat anywhere else!!! The food is fantastic, service excellent and very reasonably priced. Thanks to all of the staff for looking after me (again!). See you in September. xx

myself and four other friends have just returned from zante. throughout our week we spent 3 nights at greek islands. we loved it so much!
the second night it was my birthday and the staff made it so special. with a big introduction before a cake was brought out and then with the plate smashing and dancing and then to finish dancing on the tables!
we all would like to thank them for the beautiful food, service, and faces!

Along with Dallas restaurant this place was were we had the best food , the green pepper steak was gorgeous. We came here 5 times during our two weeks. You get a free drink on the house at the end and although you can have any drink the cup of coffee was gorgeous!!

I agree, this is without doubt the best restaurant in Laganas. We were a party of ten and came back 2 days in a row - just wished we'd discovered it earlier!! The waiters were so friendly and made my friend's birthday really special: all ten of us were dancing on the table,joining in with the traditional Greek dancing and plate smashing and drinking Sex on the Beach on the house. Not only did we enjoy quality dishes at fantastic prices, the waiters also appreciated our student budgets - they didn't charge us for the couvert and tzatziki and gave us all separate bills without even asking.

this is possibly THE best restaurant on the island. I had the fresh seabass which was lovely but a bit scary as it came as a whole fish! but the waitors deboned it at the table and it was lovely.
Very friendly people there - a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Would definately recommend it.

Really cannot tell you enough how much we enjoyed this restaurant. Everyone is soooo friendly and it really made our holiday. If you're going to Laganas you really have got to go, just look out for Dominico on the beach (if he's got his Man United hat on, tell him to get it off!!)if you're going with kids, even better, they let you smash plates, dance on tables and they've even got a trampoline and swings!!!! I fully agree with Deborah Thomas, move this restarant to UK!!! Sex on the Beach Nikos!!!!

Please move this restaurant to the UK! I'm missing my stuffed peppers and tomatoes, and also the fantastic fruit salads. Can't wait to come back... To all the guys, Angela, Peter, Nikko, etc etc, top-class service everytime. If you go to Laganas don't miss this place on the beach front.

this place is a must when in laganas,food and staff are excellent,make sure you stay till the end for the greek dancing and plate smashing its great,also when you finish your meal you get a drink of whatever you want on the house,also they have sunbeds on the beach and the blokes who collect the money (5 euros for 2 sunbeds all day)are really funny,also the daytime snacks are brought out to you on your sunbed and the food is great and very reasonable,miss this place and miss out.also they have a shower on the beach,great

Yet again fantastic - thanks guys for the great welcome. Can't believe you remembered us from two years ago! The best tzatziki and the best swordfish in greece without a doubt. And little Maria is as cute as ever - what a Daddy's girl! We will certainly be coming back to Laganas again and we know where our first stop will be.

My wife & I returned home on 12/10. Again Danny & co excelled themselves. 3 wks a year their menu is bad on the waistline but taste's fantastic. The Pancakes are a must to eat - The Restaurant is a must to visit. Problem being will you eat anywhere else????

We go to Zante all the time and got back 2 weeks ago. We had a whale of a time and stayed at the Greek Island with our lovely friend Billy Boy. All the lads were great, coming out with us every night, we especially loved little Peter, who could speak hardly a word of english (apart from wey 'ey man) but still made the effort to come out for a boogie with us. The food was also good, we ate there most nights and enjoyed watching the greek dancing. This restaurant is a must to try, its has the best food at the best prices, with the most lovely waiters. Hope everyone is ok, and we will see you soon xxx

I just wanna say we got back from there on the 1st of July 2003. I had Leo the waiter fancy me. Billy boy is such a nice guy and leo is so lovely. As for the food excellent. I have abit of advice if u go there again go at 9 30 for dinner it is more fun as i was dancing on table with the best looking waiters there.

just back from laganas on the 23rd june 2003,what a fab place to visit.we read about the greek islands res on the internet and it lived up to expectations.visited it twice but we wish we had more time to go again and again.great crack with the waiters who never stopped in all the time we were there.thanks to ilia(leo),billy and dominic for two fantastic nights of great food and entertainment.if you ever visit zante try to make the effort to visit this restaurant.

Ian, Ian, Ian, we really must disagree with you on this one. Having been to Zante loads to times, we always end up in the Greek Island as it does the best food in Laganas. It also has the best waiters, who are very attentive (that could be due to the fact that we are a group of girls!!!). We stay at the Greek Island Apartments and usually the restaurant is packed out, lunch and dinner time. It was probably quiet due the fact it was early in the season. They also always offer a free drink at the end of the meal, which always goes down well! We are going back in August and will be sure to try some of the restaurants on your extensive list! Are you aka Michael Winner?

Did not live up to the hype but was still okay, although dead quiet at night with only seven or eight people there compared to the thousands on the strip.

Must be the friendliest restaurant in Greece! We stayed in Tsilivi this year which was great(and plenty of good restaurants), but we still had to travel down to Laganas one night because we missed this place! Food and atmosphere were as good as ever and the new toilets are a big improvement so that must make it 11/10!!!!

We tried this restaurant after seeing the reviews on the internet before we went, and we absolutely loved it! The food was great, it was very reasonable and the service from the group of waiters was excellent.

They do a bit of Greek Dancing every night and offer you a free drink after every meal, so the two go well together!

Top restaurant - well worth a visit, we went every night! Miss them all now we're back in dreary England!

Oh how I miss the ambience of this 'special' place. The spectacular dancing of the world famous Dominic, the flashing smile of Ilea-moo, the charm and sophistication of Billy-moo, the tight buns of Yannis, the greasy apron of Sodoff and the ever warm welcome of Danny and Heleni. I'll be back!! Maybe the sun will shine next time!!

We went there three times and every time was very good. Every thing is reasonable and taste great could not fault it any way. They remember you once you go back, The octapus as a starter was very good also the fish. Also any other greek food i had was great

Well i thought it was a gr8 place i have been back home now 4 2 months and still missing it, Manchester isnt as good, especially with the crap weather, which is why me and my mates are coming back next year to work for the summer, Bring it on Laganas!

I certainly liked it here and the food was great. Very pleased at the end when the waiter offered us all any drink we wanted on the house!! The only two things i will warn you about is a) it gets very busy and b) if you can, stay away from the toilets!! The ladies one smelt, had flies and wasnt up to quality at all!! However, if your desperate, im sure you can hold your nose!!

One of the best 3 restaurants we found on the island, the others being Paradise, and Michaelo's in Kalamaki. Staff were all very polite, and the speed of service was good. I can recommend the Green pepper Steak, and the roast beef and lamb are good also. A kilo jug of wine costs about 4.80 euros (£3.10), and contains about 10 glasses of wine. Liked the complimentary drink at the end, and the views of the moonlit sea were something else. No more expensive than anywhere else, but the food is so much better. (Our bill for 3 courses plus drinks for a family of 4 came to 52 euros, (£35). Anyone who goes to Laganas and spends their time in MacDonalds or similar, and doesn't go to the Greek Islands seriously needs their head testing.

I've been to Laganas twice now but after becoming friends with several of the waiters in Giannis I stuck to the same restaurant. This year George who works in Giannis told me that the chef in 'Greek Islands' is much better than their own. My family and I were so impressed when we tried out the food, we went as a party of 6 so had a variety of meals but my favourite was 'beef stew Zante style'. I went to Greek Islands 6 times during my fortnight away and it was for many reasons that I returned so often. The waiters are all so friendly-Billy is a gentleman and Danny was always checking we were enjoying ourselves. Leo always put a sparkler and little accessories in my ice cream and as for Dominico, he was a very good reason to return. Theres Greek dancing around 9:30 every evening which is great fun to watch and Dominico spends the evening dressed in his Greek costume enticing people into the restaurant. Theres a free drink after every meal-mine was always a Manhattan Cocktail! if these aren't good enough reasons to go just see for yourself and you'll find your own reasons! Also, my sister fancied Yannis so there's another incentive-cute waiters, friendly staff, good food & a free cocktail!

The best restaurant in laganas. Excellent menu & plenty to choose from. The owner does a bit of greek dancing later on in the evening which is quite funny. You even get a free drink of your choice after your meal. All in all 10/10

This is the best restaurant on the Island. Ive been to Zante 8 times and this is always where we end up - in fact we even stay in the apartments next door now. Danny and Steve who own it are really friendly and they have the best waiters on the Island too - especially our mate Billy Boy!

We only found this restaurant on the last night of our stay and that's our only disappointment. Everything about our visit here was memorable - from the guy in Greek costume who lured us in, to the food, the service, the dancing, and the free drink at the end. Out of 7 restaurants we tried in Laganas this was easily the best. A visit here is a must!

Tricky Dicky is spot on, the Greek Islands Restaurant is impecable. Nothing comes near to the Quality of food, entertainment, & the atmosphere. Danny & Steve r both top lads. (That trick with the flaming food and the lemon is great).

Simply find this restuarant by walking along the beach front, keep walking until you come across the greek man all dressed up. Dont let any one else pull you into their restaurant!!!! Great food I had the fresh Sea Bass which was beautifull. Try to sit downstairs in this one as about 9.30pm the waiters do a little greek dancing and get a few people up. Atmosphere is great. At the end of you meal you are then offered a free drink of your choice on the house which I thought was a nice touch to end a lovely evening

GREAT FOOD, VEAY FRIENDLY STAFF,BEST RESTAURANT IN ZANTE,

We loved this place though the service was a little slow about an hour per course. as recommended we had the flaming saganaki, and potato salad for starters both were really nice. then again as recommended we had the green pepper steak but didn't find it all that spicy. but it was still really good. and finally the fruit salad which was plentiful and varied.

Greek Islands does the best meatballs anywhere and the Kalamari is to die for - really fantastic. The fresh fish is wonderful - Sea Bass cooked to perfection and you can hear the sea as you eat. Beautiful.

Pete Jones: Go down the main road in Laganas to the beach, turn left and walk along the beach for about 5/10 minutes, the Greek Islands Restaurants is set slightly back, but still on the beach, doesn't look great from the outside but the food and service is great, try to get there for when the sun sets it's a lovely view. Enjoy your holiday.

Gotta be the best, great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great view, best sunbeds ( you gotta try the Greek Islands fruit salad brought to your sunbed by that friendly front man Dominic) You don't need much else, this place has got it all.

We think that The Greek Island serves the best food on the Island. We especially liked Billys servings of Strawberries and Cream!!!! The owners, Danny and Steve are really friendly. Not only is the food good, but they also have sunbeds on the best bit of the beach. Make sure you pay the restaurant a visit, as we have been 5 times, and this is the best place by far. Hello Billy - Lucy girl and the others will be back soon!

Danny and Steve run the best restaurant in Laganas, if not the whole of Zante.The food is absolutely gorgeous adn the service is impeccable as well as being cheap,try the flaming cheese or the prawn saganaki and the fresh fish is beautiful.Danny's wife and daughter often come in and sit and chat and make you feel most welcome .We tried several restaurants during our stay, but none could equal this place.

Have visited island over the last four years and after trying most of the others we have found that the Greek Islands Restaurant is the best by far.(Try the Lobster!!)

Food was excellent, price is excellent, the waiter is very good looking from Julia. Friendly atmosphere - excellent value - wonderful view - been there four years running and it is by far the best restaurant on the island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
