My wife & I returned home on 12/10. Again Danny & co excelled themselves. 3 wks a year their menu is bad on the waistline but taste's fantastic. The Pancakes are a must to eat - The Restaurant is a must to visit. Problem being will you eat anywhere else????

Freya who wanted to know where Zante Dora Appts are. 5mins of so from main street in good beach location (10metres. Next door to Hotel Australia & opp Hotel Sirene. Good location, can't tell about accom not used. Try these for restaurants - Greek Islands, Sirrocco
both on the beach right near your appts. Also Pashalis opp the Calipso Pool on the road behind beach again in area you are staying.
We always go the same area and this is our 11th yr (twice yearly). We go 16/5 for week. Hope you have a really good time.

We have just got back from one of our many weeks a year in Laganas.
Parrots have new owners and they are doing a great job keeping the name in the standard it has always had.
The new owners,Caroline & Brian,not forgetting Mum, Kay & littleun, are from Wales,they are lovely,they make you welcome even on your first visit.
Brian plays nice guitar and sings inbetween some karaoke.

We have just got home from our first week of many to Laganas each year and what can we say about La Bamba????

Spiros ,Mike & Kostas..no change there, Mel & Kate behind the inside bar...nice to see girls (or should I say BABES) serving in a Greek bar. Outside bar Stelios & Dave...not forgetting Miro....keep up the good work.

Laganas - it's fun, loud. peaceful yes it can also be whatever you want it to be. The main strip is for party party but go off the
strip and it is great for everybody. Trad. taverna's, good bar's that cater for all ages. Take time to look around and you won't be disappointed.

The Restaurant and Menu looked impressive. But don't order chicken tropical. It's a fillet with a tin of heated up fruit cocktail tipped over it. Tin fruit water content high, hence all flavour food
zero. Waiter's comment was 'well you should have ordered something Greek'. Even husbands Greek Meal only ok. Hope you all have more
luck. 11 years of eating in Laganas twice a year will not be using again.

Lovely food - Recommend 'Village Lamb' definately worth more than one visit.

Formerly Parrot's Taverna - This is the 2nd year Jimmy (ex doughnut man) & his family have run it. His wife (Agathea) does the cooking is excellent would definately recommend a visit. Ask for the toasted bread with herb's & Oil and Blue Cheese Spread. Not on menu but 'WOW'. We've sampled alot of the menu and regular visitors go
back here time and again. DEFINATELY TRY IT. YAMAS

This Bar is - FUN & CRAZY - This Bar is JESSE & TONY - They work there socks off all night. Keep up the good work all of you's and keep THE BEAR for 2005. Well worth a visit or 2,3,4,5,6,7.

To Steve & Maria Buckland - Mel & I keep intouch with each other on a regular basis will pass on your details to her. Do you think bar with lacking big time this last visit? We used P Panther in Sept had great time in there.But still called in and saw the boys

Simon Jenkins -- Yes Ralph & Pete still about. They have sort of retired and live out of resirt. Pete swans round but don'y see as much. Ralph he does a bit of cookin (daytime) at Coobanero's on beach. Should definately try Agathea's cooking here. Even Ralph eats here. Speaks volumes hey. Next door see comment in Bars. Nice people etc.

   The Food here is excellent: Breakfast - Lunch - Evening Meal -  The service is ALWAYS 1ST CLASS . We have eaten here ever since it opened.  The setting for whatever time of day is perfect, right on the beach with lovely sunshine and sunsets.  Food:  Try the whole memu we can not pick out any one dish better than another it all depends on your taste. A MUST TO VISIT.  We got back yesterday 29/7 and are counting the days off of the eight weeksuntil back again.  It will be our first port of call for a lovely meal served by friends with a talent to run this great restaurant,. In 12 yrs of coming to Laganas and the 4 yrs that Pando & Valentina have had the restaurant it is now on our top 3 places to eat.

    The Food as always is lovely,  Agathea is a wonderful cook. The Zakynthos Beef in Tomato Sauce is a must to try.   Back for 3rd's in September can't keep away from cooking.

Add your comment herJust got back was slightly red hot 38 in the shade 40+ on beach.  GOOD NEWS  everybody on a return visit will be pleased to know the NEW ARRIVALS TERMINAL at the Airport is open.  HOORAY.  Two conveyorbelts NO MORE 2 hour waits for luggage for those of you that arrive on the really busy days of Sunday & Thursday and whats more it's fully air-conditioned (we nearly fainted) not with heat but SHOCK..  After 12 years of the hussle & bussle of the old terminal this Ultra Modern building is open.  MIND YOU it is not finished yet but is still massive improvement.

Just been reading some of comments.  To the person concerned about the Earth/Quakes & tremors that were going on for about 3 weeks.  Good news, it has all calmed down.  Yes agree the quakes very frighting, tremors can cope with.  But Zakynthos is on a fault line so they are common,  just not always big.  Remember the Island was practically rebuilt after 1953 quake and buildings constructed to resist.  But like everything in life there is always risk.  Just go and enjoy your holiday this Month, bet you won't even think about it once there, it's a fantastic Island.

Yiannis is one of the orignal early 80's taverna's to eat at in Laganas.  The food is excellent the atmosphere very laid back.  It is a place where alot of Greek people go to eat.  WHERE IS IT I HERE YOU ASK? 

We LOVE this PLACE -  THE HOSPITALITY - THE FOOD -The Pancakes a 100/100 would we go back SILLY QUESTION, try keeping us away.  Back September for more excellent everything.  It say about the Greek Islands Restaurant WE ARE NO.1  yes thats about right. All the best guys, if you get chance to look during this busy busy time.

We think Jes who runs the show in here is great,  A guy who will make your evening one to remember and want to do again- again -again.  The staff are also lovely especially our mate Tracey.

Up as I call it the 'Big Hotels' end of Laganas Beach.  Not on the Beach.  Opposite the Zante Park Hotel.  Yes the food is lovely & Adonis & all his staff are good at there jobs as hosts as well as being nice people.  Definately worth a visit.

This restaurant is lovely, Your hosts Spiros, Angela & Family are excellent.  Last time there had the Sole in Champers Sauce.  Now looking forwards to it again in a couple of weeks.

People who have never ventured here  -  "you really should make an effort to do so"  you'll be sorry if you miss out on eating good food iin wonderful surrounding.  Once been you will go back  PROMISE.

The Bar is run by Dennis, Mary & Co.

AND overseeing everything Mr Pink Panther himself 'Jimmy' you can't miss him, he his perched outside the main door.

just back after a week spent in g.i. company.  everybody is lovely here.  sunbeds & service is a1 (or as domonic says 'the best'

Total Agreement with you there Emma, Food & Service awful.  Ate here when it 1st opened and friends have tried since because unlike like us they had okay meal.  But the 2nd experience was in early June & definately the last for them, they said the Food tasted like the cat had done something in it. 

Great Food & Company.  Well done to Adonis & team on your 2nd season with Avanti.  Loved my Zante Lamb etc.  Seriously BIG even the child portion.

One downer on the trip. New departures at airport.
I really can't see it speeding things up. infact for us it was really really much slower.

REASONS:
Yes it lovely and big. 12 check-in desks (not wide enough for that many). So your queue goes right back to end of the checkin hall. Now if the flt was 100% full and when all the flights are full in high season. Yes you guessed it there is knowhere else to put you but outside on the pavement, however there is very little room for that and no shelters so far. Not likely to be as not any where to put them either.(If this sounds abit familar to the old terminal wait for it:- Also the queues move SO SLOWLY, this is because of only having 3 luggage scanning machines. They send about 10 people throu from 3 different flight lines to checkin area at a time. Then stop the queues. Wait for those to clear then go onto another queue/ flight checking in and do the same with those ones. Hence the 1st three queues don't move for another 20+ mins whilst waiting for the next lot to clear. I can imagine that being a big problem on Thurs/Sun in high season. We were Fri & that was bad enough we had 4 other flights checkin in at same time as us and it was hell standing in the queue for 2 hrs approx.

However once through to other side its better apart from lack of seating. (yes the pictures on this site do not lie) You can however go upstairs to anywhere on the 1st floor and have a ciggie. Also the shop is about 2.5 times size of the old one.

All in all it looks nice is loads bigger but works on about par with old checkin term. The dept.lounge is better even without enough seating. You could say it reminds you of the Titanic and not enough lifeboats.

This Restaurant was not open early June 08 nor was it open in Sept 07. 

If your staying in Laganas or just visiting for the evening go to this restaurant.  Especially in HIGH SEASON (July/August)  Spiros & Angela (owners)  have live Greek Musicains that come over from Athens to entertain on the outside stage.  They are excellent.

Had lovely 2 wks in Laganas and the nights spent at Bar Fantasy were great as usual.  It lovelyt to see so many friends in the resort this time of year.  Peter & Andre are alway the excellent hosts.  This Bar is well worth spending some time in.

FOOD = 3 out 10

Won't be going back - tried and tested again after long gap of a few years between eating in there occasionally. But there are many FAR BETTER places to eat.  Lynn & Craig comments are correct has really gone down hill.

Have just got back after a wonderful 10 days.  We spent our days and some evenings at the Restaurant. Denny has revamped interior , it looks great and is a lovely tribute to Steve.  The Food & Service are as always Very Good.  Now they you have gone and made Greek Islands even more special.  The Live 'Traditional Greek Band' one night a week is a fantastic attraction. We were fortunate to attend 2 over our holiday and both evenings were excellent.

Thank you for a lovely time all of you, see you for a repeat performance 20/9.

Well what a time we had for the last 10 days with you.  It was good for you both to get out last week for Lunch on the beach at G.I. (enjoyed your company).  Just opened the '2008 Bottle of Olive Oil'   Peter, your right - it was a good harvest (yum). Andrea we have tried the Strawberry in Ouzo and boy do they taste better than with just cream, left them for about 6 hrs in fridge soaking ouzo in and cut in halves..

See you both all again (now 93 days) am I counting NO !!!!!!! (ok yes I am)
