We have some friends in Alikanas who tell us that the apartments are finished and look really good. The apartments are located on the seafront between the Valais and the river that splits Alikes and Alikanas. I have also heard that they may be owned by the local mayor and that they should be of good quality. We are due to stay there in June so hope that our friends are right.

Have just returned from 2 weeks in Alykanas. We ate at this restaurant about 4 times and had a take away pizza on our first night due to a sleepy 3 year old. Every meal was fantastic. Sakis and his staff were excellent. The portions are great and everything we had was cooked to perfection. The Mixed Souvlaki (skewered kebabs) were simply beautiful. The lamb kleftiko was the best thing I ate over the 2 weeks. Superb. Play area for kids was great too and you can see them playing from your table if you wish. Quieter areas also available away from the play area. Gets very busy. Popular.

Just got back from these apartments with my wife, mother and 3 year old daughter. Lovely and clean. Modern by Greek standards. Pleasant staff. Good Pool and Kids Pool. Kids playground only really usable in the evenings due to hot surfaces in the daytime. Just like the artists impression in the brochure. 4 or 5 small steps onto the beach which is safe for kids. If you go there, say hello to Akis, the evening barman. He is such a nice bloke.

Took a trip to the Blue Caves on a speedboat from the end of the pier at Alykes with Golden Dolphin. A very pleasant English girl takes bookings at the end of the pier for their 2 hour trips (11am and 2pm). About 20 mins to the caves, 20/30mins looking at and going into several caves. 20 mins swimming and 20 min taverna stop at a reasonably priced taverna in a small cove on the way back. Excellent value (My 3 year old was allowed to go free), good fun and unlike the bigger boats, this one goes into the caves.

Pat - re Alykanas Beach Studios Bath Towels and Hand Towels are provided. Loo roll is also provided and the maids always ensured that there was a spare roll. Don't worry, this place is excellent. We have just arrived back and grabbed a brochure to book again for next year. If we hadn't already booked and paid for Cyprus in Sep, I would be going back then.
