Hi, me and my girlfriend are visiting in late June and obviously I am a bit worried about some of the comments made. Can anyone give he the lowdown on this accomodation and also some top tips for places we could go for meals and nightlife.I would also specifically like to know about any beaches that are top quality, and easly accessable form Argassi. Thanks all for your help.
Me and my girlfriend went on the boat trip round the whole island. It was a great way to see the island, especially as Zante is hilly and many parts are unreachable by car. We stopped at some amazing places to swim and Smuggler's Cove was an excellent site to see. However it was a little choppy in places and there was one period between two swimming stops that were too far apart considering it was during the heat of the day. having said this it was a great trip, we got a fab tan (you are on the boat from 9am till 5pm). Snack bar can be expesive, kids can get restless.
It wasn't a busy bar. The music was sometimes really good, espeically the live band who played a mixture of Oasis, The Beatles etc, but at other times it could be a little obscure. The drinks were well priced during happy hour and they had a great choice of cocktails.
Generally had a great range of music. The dance floor was a fair size, so a good place for a boogie. Atmosphere was good, with great cocktails at reasonable prices.
Oh man what a cool bar!!! The fire-breathing dude really does need to be on a bigger stage!! He made the night! Every night he burned the bar and you could tell thats what the crowd were gagging for. He was a real entertainer watch out for him coming round with the tequila for a dentists chair type thing!!! Music was always excellent, good pop to dance to. Just opened the upstairs roof bar as well which is really cool!!! Truly the coolest bar in Argassi, we shall be telling all our mates about him!!!!!
Great dance floor area and some good tunes to dance to late into the night. It had a great range of theme nights, something there for everyones taste.
We found it to be nothing but excellent. Rooms were always kept clean, bins changed every day. The pool area was good but more aimed at kids as there was lots going on. This resulted in me and my girlfriend finding another pool down the road that was a little more quiet for a nice swim. Again at night lots to do for families and especially kids. It could get a little noisy as the balconies were quite close together (you could hear a few conversations!!!!). The location was excellent, very close to all the bars, restaurants, beach etc, but not in the heart of it all. It is probably best to hire a fan if you have a few extra Euros on you, it can get a bit uncomfortable.
The beach is clearly not massively wide that much is obvious therefore the people that chose the resort and then moaned about it shouldnt have. We are not beach people really but found it to be ok, but not amazing. The sea has some rocks in it but you can navigate these and go to some fantastically clear parts of water. The fish swim around your feet and it is so shallow for ages. We actually found the narrow beach to be an advantage as it meant you didn't have to walk on hot sand for too long and it meant it was less packed, both in the water and on the beach, no room for low flying beach balls!!!! Overall this beach was not stunning, yet it was not as bad as some people are making out. However if you do have kids that like to make sand-castles etc, another beach may be more suitable.
Great views of the hills from the roof top tables. Wine was really well priced and the choice of food was large. Tried a traditional greek starter which was different. Overall very pleasant and good service.
It was well located. The service was a little slow in getting our drinks. I thought the choice of food was very good, nothing amazing though. My girlfriend had the swordfish which she liked.
We saved this restaurant till our last night and we were not disappointed. The food was no more expensive than England, ok so it is pricey in comparison to the other restaurants, but it's the little touches that stand out, plus the food is wonderful!! The service was excellent, the best we had. Plus if you are that bothered by the price you can save money by having things such as the local wine etc. It was our best meal of the holiday. If you love Chinese food you will be silly to miss out this restaurant!!!!!
A good place to eat the service was nice and friendly and the food as good as any in the resort. I especially enjoyed the mussels as a starter. If you like your pasta and Italian dishes I definately recommend here.
It has a nice roof top location. There is a wide range of food available. The greek salad for a starter was huge!! The greek meals were very good, it was nice to try something different on holiday. Service was ok, but it was a busy night.
The local beach is not the best in the world, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves there. The shopping was good, nice cheap prices and lots of gift shops, but they do sell very similar stuff. It was peaceful enough during the day and livened up during the nightime. Plenty of bars to visit, which serve excellent cocktails. There is a wide choice of restaurants to visit both during the day for lunch and for an evening meal. I went with my girlfriend and we found the atmosphere to be excellent. There were several families around, but there was also a lot of couples, which suited us both. Overall a fantastic holiday, would recommend this resort to couples especially.
