We stayed at the Admiral for the last two weeks in August. The hotel complex and pool area were great, just big enough. Not too keen on the room, very basic but you only sleep in there at the end of the day. Wouldn't recommend the water polo for kids (it's a bit of a free for all) as my 6yr old son got elbowed in the mouth which resulted in a trip to the doc's for some stitches. Got to say hi to Super Sam in the kids club from Joshi Josh or Batman as she liked to call him XXXX. Overall a brilliant holiday, would recommend the admiral to anyone! More suited to families than couples.
We had to visit the doctors opposite the Palmyra hotel on the way up to the Admiral's. My 6yr old son got elbowed in the mouth while playing water polo which resulted in him having 7 stitches in his mouth. George the doc was absolutely brilliant with him, telling him how brave he was the whole time he was stitching him up! We had to get a prescription from the chemists and he explained everything in detail and spoke very good english. Again when we went back for the stitches out he was very gentle, always asking if Josh was ok! Lovely man, would recommend to anyone! we were there mid-August!
Excellent resort, very busy in August when we were there. Lots of very good restaurants, didn't have a bad meal the whole fortnight (Ate at the Green Frog three times)! The only thing we didn't like was the way they hassled you to get you into the restaurants, hounding you as you walked past! Stop trying too hard!! (We re-named it the rat run on the way down from the Admirals). Plenty of bars to choose from - Hi to Ken & Jude & Co at the Oasis (Ken's a mad Brummi!) Plenty of shops. Must mention the cars/bikes if you have kids. Turn left at the magic mushroom heading towards Zante Town, its down there on the left. Motorised quad bikes etc 4euros for 20 mins, we ended up a regular here! Beach is not much cop, but we hired a car and went to Lagana, Kalamaki and St. Nikolas beaches which were all very nice! Overall a lovely resort, more suited to families!
Ate here three times in the fortnight! Food was brilliant but agree with some of the others regarding the service (could have been better!) Didn't put us off though!
Well, what can I say about this place! Have to agree with about everybody on this one. What an annoying little man! We used to dread walking past this place every night but didn't have much choice as we were staying at the Admirals at the top of the hill. We did reluctantly agree to eat here one night, just to shut the mythering git up! Food was ok but nothing special, didn't go back again.
