I would like to know about the bed set up in the 1 bed appts in alykanas beach village,there are 3 of us going + i have a back problem + do not need a camp or sofa bed!can anyone give us good news? This will be our 3rd vist to alykanas/alykes and it won't be our last,roll on a lottery win or retirment.This place is fantastic and the people.If you are thinking of going dont hesitate once you've been you will go back!The 2nd visit we took friends and guess what!they fell in love too.Its the only place they have never been ready to come home from,they to want to live there..roll on july 03

Hi Tony here,Jp just to let you know the latest!! Called into travel agent yesterday for info they said they new of no problems,staff there had hols booked with airtours,they wer'nt worried as air ts out of financial difficulty. Then i read pauls story 2day so i called airtours direct,after listening to the top 40 twice then redirected finaly we got there!Spoke 2 program managment who told me everthing was 100%,they have had problems for early hol makers,something to do with air ts + owners of property but now everthing is sorted out between them.ps whens paul goin? ours 24july

Been to Elpida 2 years running,the 1st year we were in the old appts = it was near the road a bit noisy,so i got the numbers of the new appts at the rear of the complex + asked for those the following year(last year)much better!the old rooms the third bed was a camp bed no good 4 back prob people like myself.the new 1s have a pull out bed(proper 1).ahhhhhhhh nice!they seemed a lot cooler 2.we're off back in july again but trying some beach accom this time cant wait luv the place.GREAT people,GREAT beaches,GREAT hol..ENJOY!!!!!!!

Can anyone let me know wot the camp beds are like in these appts, as i am thinking of booking for 04.

Tony here again reading yet more bad reports from more angry let down customers.Can i just ask if there is anyone who has booked to go in july that has'nt had bad news about there hol????

Nicola, if you have a look on alykanas beach studios,Sharon has not long been back,she was moved for the first week then moved back into studios for 2nd week,she said there was some work ongoing but nothing to worry about.I have had a look around both of these places and they are both brilliant.We are booking these next year.

Hi nadine,there is no building work going on at the beach village its next door at the beach studios,its probably another floor as it only had 2.We were there last year and they were both finished + both inside +out are brill,nothing to worry about on that score. Regarding cancellations no news is good news,we travel on 24 july,i spoke to airtuors direct and they said the problems had been sorted out.Hope this helps with the nerves..Have a great hol.this is our 3rd visit + we've already booked for next year in the beach studios next door.yipeeeeeeeeeee. Stuart,there is a cash machine in alykes my friend used it last year ok.We took half sterling + half euros we found that was ok for us there are plenty saftey deposit boxs available.
A word of caution to people with kids who want henna tattoos,near the flame bar in alykanas 2 albainians sit poaching hair braids + tattoos,my daughter + friend got tattoo the drawing was meant to be a dolphin but looked like a squashed frog and washed off next day I told them they could'nt draw for toffee,they offered to do a hair braid free,I THINK YOU CAN GUESS WHAT I SAID....

Can anyone tell us how much they have payed for the air con for the fortnight.

Clair,we have stayed in the elpida twice,the front appts get a lot of road noise,thebar did'nt bother us.However there are new appts at the rear of the complex which are smashing,double glazed,and seemed a lot cooler.The people are polite they have a good mini market on site,the woman seems a bit somber but she is ok realy.people always moan about the cleansliness but theres a brush +shovel so it only takes a min yourself(we did).regaurding towels being changed it was every other day,but if u want them changed just ask + it will b done. we would stay there again.Enjoy your hol(GREAT PLACE) TONY>

Just arrived back from this fantastic complex,cleaners everyday,clean sheets+towels every other day,beds made every day,bins emptied every day,air is extra but well worth it,the best nights sleep we have ever had on hol!staff nice,the snack bar is nice food and good price.The only coment i can make again'st the place was the sunbeds!you had 2 b up to get 1round pool,but i was told the hotel were in the process of buying more to rectify the prob,the rep did take towels off unatended beds.other than this minor thing the place is brill!the beach on your doorstep wot can i say!!the best of 3 worlds,beach,pool,place back for a 4th year running 04 booked up already.if your thinking of going dont hesitate do it!this island is a place you just do not want to leave!if you are going or thinking of going have a good 1 im sure you will...

THE ORIGINAL PIE SHACK is now called THE GREATDANE due to leigal reasons.The same people the same place on main road between alykanas+alykes,NOT the riverside.and i might add the same food BRILL!! get yourself along and sample the quality+the portions BIG!!! great people too! 4th year back at alykanas in july, beach village last year fantastic!
trying studios this year!can anybody tell us wot 2-3 studios r like beds etc.Any recomended room no's welcomed. we have 11year old daughter.the bar has been there since the day it was built as we've sampled it more than once,hopefuly the noise wont b a problem!anybody going 2 this resort 4 first time should'nt b disapointed its a great place nice people,bars,food,
lovely safe beaches nearby alykes is great also!

Hi andrew,stayed at ELPIDA twice 2001+02 prefered new apartments at rear of complex more modern.
5mins at max 2 bars/restaurants all family friendly.Great safe beach 15 mins!(turn right at Greedy Greek)Great resort. Nearby Alykes worth a visit or two!U can take a horse+cart there.2003+july 04 staying at apartments on the beach,trying different accom but would go back 2 elpida anytime!hope info is of help 2u!have a great holiday.
