We have not been yet.Booked in for the first week of September 03. Included in our party are 2 x 20 yr olds and a 17 yr old. Bit concerned if there will be enough to keep them amused, as they like clubbing etc. Any comments/recommendations appreciated.
We have read mixed comments about the food and entertainment. Has anybody been recently that can put our minds at rest?
Going to Argassi next week, and fancy a visit to the Target Bar.The drink as much wine as you like sounds fab!!!Can anybody tell me which nights are BBQ night and Greek night, and what time does the place stay open to? Also when you ring up for the free transport,do you speak to an English speaking person? Thanks, Andy
This was the best beach on the island. The water is warm, clear and as still as you will find.Sand is good.We went on a Tuesday afternoon in the first week of September, and spent several hours in the water, with very few locals and holidaymakers.Certainly not overcrowded.DON'T MISS OUT THIS BEACH,ITS A HIDDEN JEWEL!!!!!
Stayed at the Captains in the first week of September 2003,on a half board basis.Quite a good hotel, with its location for views a big plus. Food was reasonably good quality, however little choice at breakfast.Rooms were basic, but were clean!!If the place was given a new coat of paint, and new furniture it could easily be 4 star. However i would recommend it as it stands, and if you are to stay there you will enjoy the hotel.
Four of us went on the afternoon trip on Sat.6th Sept.2003 to the Keri caves, turtle beach and banana beach. It was an enjoyable trip, however we did not see any turtles(apparently 1st time this has happened). The highlight was swimming in the waters around the Keri Caves, which was worth the trip itself.Make sure you take a snorkell and mask to get the full benefits of swimming in these waters!!Capt.Spiros let the women and children have a go at steering the boat,so take a camera aswell!!We were out for about 6 hours which included 3 swimming stops. This trip is no doubt better than the trips on the bigger boats, and Spiros and the lads very pleasant. So if you are planning on going on a boat trip,we would certainly recommend this trip.ANDY,TRACEY,NICOLE&ROB
Great beach,in a nice part of the island.Good snack bars there, which are reasonably priced.Would certainly recommend the rocked area to the right hand side of the bay for snorkelling, plenty to see in a safe area.Plenty of watersports on hand.Certainly worth a visit!!
Enjoyed visiting the platform for the shipwreck, but not for the faint hearted.Worth the visit.
Visited a couple of times in September for full English Breakfast.Good food, good value.Worth a visit!!
Argassi was OK to visit for 1 week, however we did need a car for 5 days as there is little on offer. No beach to speak of,and when we visited in first week of September the nightlife was subdued, leaving a trip to Laganas a better option. However i would strongly recommend the Tropicanna bar, with its cinema. The views from 'up the hill'were good.I would recommend Argassi for families, couples and people wanting to hire a car.
Message for Andrea. The speedboat trips run from Tsivili harbour. It is best to book a couple of days in advance by visiting the harbour at about 1pm,when the morning trip returns, and bookings are then taken. Advise you to have something to eat before the trip, take a camera, and a snorkell with you as you will be able to swim in some lovelly waters. We did the afternoon trip to Keri Caves which is possibly more spectacular than the north end of the island where Smugglers Cove is.Certainly worth the money,so enjoy it!!
