Fantastic place! We decided to walk to Target, it's not far but the
hill is steep, there is free transport - which we took back down to
Argassi (after having too much wine and metaxxa with Nikos!).
Food is so reasonably priced and good too! Views are just to die
for. All the staff are really friendly - especially Nikos, who gave us
many free drinks! It's a must to visit Target if you're going to
Argassi!
We loved the food here! It was right beside our hotel - the Porto
Iliessa, and as we were staying their we got 10% off in Erato,
with a card you can get from reception! Definetly the best food on
the main street. We had Kleftiko, which was gorgeous - we had
a starter of filled peppers too and couldn't eat it all - we were
stuffed! So make sure you're hungry, as it's well worth the wait!
Just got back from Porto Iliessa on Monday 26th May. Had two
fantastically, scorching weeks! The place was fantastic, we had
a big bedroom, a lounge, a kitchen with table and a bathroom
with shower and a BATH!! Having been to Greece three times
before, we usually just had a tiny shower with no shower curtain!
And a kitchenette in the bedroom! So for those of you who are
used to basic Greece - these apartments are a luxury! We were
supposed to stay at Krinas, but Thomas Cook said they'd
overbooked at the last minute! We were well pleased with the
Porto Illiessa - miles better then Krinas! And you get a cracking
barman too - George is fantastic, we spent many a night
sampling the cocktails and beating him at pool! George is a
brilliant laugh, he works in the roof top cocktail bar - it's fab for
happy hour cocktails from 7-9pm only 2.5euro, ideal before you
head out for food. All the apartments have sea or pool views, and
HUGE balconies! It's in the perfect location, right on the main
street, with the beach on your doorstep! I would definetly
recommend these apartments, and for anyone who is off to
Porto Iliessa - I'm so jealous, cos I want to go again!
We found this restaurant on two days before we had to come
home! It was gorgeous food. I had swordfish souvlaki which was
goegeous, price is really reasonable - miles better service and
food than the restaurants on the main street in Argassi - you
must go!
This was recommended to us and we loved it! A really relaxed
environment - it felt a bit more upmarket than some of the
tavernas on the main street! However the food was much
cheaper and better! It is a family run restaurant too. The view
across Argassi is beautiful, perfect for a romantic meal, or to
chill out with friends! I would recommend Zakynthian Chicken, or
Chicken Souvlaki. I'm surprised this only got 4/10, I would have
to give it 10/10 for food, service and beautiful location!
The kids love it here but I think it's awful. Staying at the Admiral apartments which is pretty good. The local beach is quite awful and we have had to hire a car to get about.I would advise that if you are looking for a real and authentic Greek experience I should look at island other than Zante. Sorry but I loathe this palce. Guess when I leave this internet cafe I had best look over my shoulder for the local assasin!
see sarah Hopkins..sorry Sarah!
